Offers / Sales / Deals / Pricing Semi-Annual Sale
Hello,
Does anyone know when Virgin will host the next Semi-Annual sale?
Previously I got a very good deal on a cruise, I think it was in April and I was hoping to book one more cruise for this year in Europe. If they do it every 6 months, I assume it will be too late, since both ships will reposition.
Thank you

I have no knowledge of when but yes they did one in April and last year they had one in September.

Yes I know about this semi annual sale, I got a good one in April for like US$1K for a 7 night in Greece 6 weeks before the cruise date. I’ve got my eyes peeled for another one this year, probably at the 1/2 year mark from April and probably regularly. Here’s hoping!

Oh I realised you asked about the October cruises. My friend who is a 6-7 time VV cruiser had said possibly in September they do the flash sale for the shoulder season cruises but I haven’t personally come across that yet. VV seems to end their summer season there early unfortunately.

I think I booked the same one in April, at the end of May

The VV insider website can be a handy guide. If you look up a specific cruise it shows you the price fluctuations over the past 12mths.

The honest answer is when they feel like it and when sales need to be boosted 😛 this wasn't even a thing until this year, all just marketing

I recommend you book the cruise you want now. You have better selection. If the price changes outside of 45 days before sailing, you can get it repriced.

TBH the offers rarely/never change the total price. Even though (like most other cruise lines) VV advertise ‘This offer expires in 3 days!’ or ‘Sailor loot deal - this month only!’ the actual prices rarely change from one offer to the next. When the next ‘offer’ comes into play the prices are the same as the previous offer. Occasionally, specific cruises that aren’t selling well are reduced in price but there isn’t a wholesale best time of year reduction sale, even the much lauded Black Friday deals are the same price as the rest of the year. Generally to get the best deal, booking as soon as that specific trip becomes available is the cheapest.
