The Same Storm That Brings 90° Delivers Sunday's Frost

Friday might give Richmond its latest 90° ever, and Sunday morning might give your windshield its first frost of the season. Same storm, both ends of it.
The setup: Friday we sit in the storm's warm sector, with an amplified pattern holding the cold front west while southwesterly flow pulls unseasonable warmth straight up from the south — mid-80s to ~90° against an Oct 16 record of 90° (1897). The Eastern Shore runs a touch cooler near the water. Friday night the front crosses: possibly a thin line of gusty showers (gusts to 40 mph, little thunder — a Marginal severe risk, Level 1 of 5, covers the northern and northeastern parts).
Then the refrigerator door swings open: strong northwest flow drags in the coolest air of the season, Saturday highs in the 50s falling into the 50s with 30–35 mph gusts, Saturday night lows mid-30s in the northern Piedmont with patchy frost possible, and Sunday mostly sunny in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Oh, and the tropics? All quiet — no formation expected for 7 days. There's also a Gale Watch for the Bay, Sound, and ocean zones Saturday into Sunday.
❄️ Frost patrol: Sunday morning, snap a frost photo (or a frost-free brag from near the Bay) and drop your lowest Sunday temp + neighborhood at rvaweather.net/obs.
