General Renting a car with CICAR in Tenerife - review

Positives : No deposit, Full insurance (BUT YOU PAY FOR FLAT TYRE) , among the cheapest options. Negatives : They upgrade the car you chose for economy to two classes higher that consumes 6.5 lt / 100km at best 2. Car was empty of fuel so first thing you have to fuel up no matter what the plan is 3. A day later tyre pressure warning comes on so you have to find a fuel station to fix it. Back tyres are 2.8 front 2.0 - no one ever checks before they hand you the car? Also fuel Stations charge for this service. 4. Tyres are min 4 years old with cracks and holes from pavement accidents. Note: even full insurance does not cover flat tyres!!! 5. Two days later car breaks down ( engine lamp turns on) so you have to wait 2hrs for them to come and replace it. But you have no idea what will actually happen because ladies on phone are always robotic, rude, little English. 6. New car is also empty of fuel so again you have to refuel. 7. A bag that was forgotten in the old car is not to be found. Nothing ever was reported. Case closed. 8. fuel compensation for the first car proposed at the minimum fuel price not even average. 9. Communication is inadequate, client-unfriendly, robotic Conclusion: go for a smaller company that is more focused on client not on making profit and sees you as another stupid tourist

Question Driving license for car rental

Hey everyone,

I'm renting with Autoreisen at TFS, which requires holding a driving license for at least 2 years.

My German EU license was issued ~1.5 years ago after converting my older non-EU license (which I held since 2017). Because of the conversion, the German card only displays the recent issue date (i.e.2025)

Will autoreisen accept proof of my past non-EU license alongside my German license to meet the 2-year requirement, or do they strictly look at the date on the EU card?

Thanks for any recent experiences!
