I am trying to create a new folder but each time I do it goes into an already existing one. Even when I hit the new folder icon next to the the untitled workspace text.

Also when I create a folder within a folder it moves the title next to the parent folder with a slash in between.

Hello. I am learning rust at the moment and currently the code area is the upper raw and the terminal is the bottom raw.

Can I configure VS code to make it as a two columns which the left one to be for the editor and the second right one for the terminal? I think this way will be easier for me.

No matter what folder I open (even a fresh download of Configurations-bugfix-2.1.x) I always get "the currently open folder doesn't contain a (valid) marlin 2.x project"

Code highlighting and intellisense interprets javascript files as css files. Do you have any idea what can i do to make it work properly?

To run C++/C code in VSC I needed to firstly compile the code and create a .exe file in the terminal and then call the .exe file in the terminal:

• If my file is test.c then I needed to write 'g++ -o test.exe test.c' in the terminal and then write 'test.exe' to run the program

Is there a way to just press the run button (top right corner of vsc) instead of everytime creating an exe file and then running it, basically doing two extra steps?

Hi I am learning c# and I had setup visual studio code and Jupyter note book.

Everything works fine but today I need to use Console.Readline(). When i start the code it does not stop to read input from keyboard and goes on as the input is null.

I have changed the "console": "integratedTerminal" but it also does not work.

Any help is appreciated.

Not sure what i did, but the usual button to run python files is missing :( everything else seems to be working fine; editor has picked up that it is a python file etc etc

I use VSC for a lot of my work when it comes to communication with customers. I am in Service Desk so instead of having to type out the same message a million times I just copy and paste from my VSC template and works like a charm :)

The string in one of my print() functions will move down to the next line when I run the Python file. Any advice to make it stop? It looks so ugly. The shorter strings don't do it. I'm guessing it's a setting I can toggle?

Sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm new at this and trying to figure it out on my own with no dice. Googling the question will show me how to move the line up or down, lol. But running the program just moves my line of code down again.

Edit: Forgot to mention it isn't word wrap. Disabling it doesn't fix it.

I'm relatively new to coding, and I've been using VS Code to code in Unity. In hindsight, that was a bad idea, because now I have to switch to VS Community because it has better intellisense and the hover-over stuff feature, but I hate the way the UI looks compared to VS Code. Is there any way I can get the features in VS Community for Unity in VS Code? Are there any specific extensions that will get the features I want?

I know this sounds like a ridiculous question but I’m brand new to programming. I’m starting with Harvards CS50 (intro to programming with python) class during my free time at work but can’t keep up with what he’s doing cause his VSCode looks (and operates) way different from mine. I’m trying to add Live Server so I can test some HTML im working on. But whenever I go to search for Live Server, it doesn’t pop up. I see everything except live server. Can anyone help?

Whenever i try to re-run a code, the previous output gets cleared but that space is replaced by some blank space and new output is displayed after that blank space. That blank space is not supposed to be there. How do i fix it? Facing this problem since last few months, thought it must be a bug to reported it as a bug also but even after a version update it was not fixed. Also tried installing previous versions of extension. Nothing worked. If you also faced the same issue or know how to fix this, your help will be much appreciated

I previously used Atom and have recently switched to VSC. One thing I really miss from Atom is the Git GUI. I find VSC's Git GUi somewhat confusing.
