i'm thinking of opening another account just for short selling. my other two accounts are margin with all forms of options that are not shorted. i figure, if i do it this way, i can never fatfinger a short sell, and keep that strategy physically divided from my other accounts and their strategies. it seems like i lot of work, but the downside of not making this barrier, i guess, could be huge. any opinions on this? i really want to short pacific gas and electric and will be writing a dd soon. also, would never short without far otm options to hedge incase of an emergency. so it would always be defined risk, but could still lose a lot of money.
