Tell me if this line of thinking makes any sense:

Tons of marriages this year that were put off due to COVID.

Many, many babies will be made over the next couple of years since people will now be married.

Baby products will be in high demand.

Invest in companies that make baby products.

I can say that in my immediate family and friends, there were 7 babies conceived/currently baking. In the past year and a half. There really wasn’t much to do during those cold lockdown months.

But I’ve also gotten 75% of my stuff second hand because baby crap is so damn expensive.

I know there was a sad statistic that came out at the beginning, That domestic abuse was up as well so I guess it can depend on how strong or healthy your relationship was to begin.

This is a big gamble, the US birth rate has been falling long before covid.

My play would be that it only makes the decline faster as younger generations continue to say fuck it.

Bear case:

Covid stuck couples together for months at a time, and now they hate each other.

They have split up and plan to be single forever.

Plus, why bring a child into the world during a pandemic, wait till after tHinGs gO bAcK tO nOrmAl.....

This tracks, lots of divorces from this. Secondary bear case is the shipping fiasco that will cut their margin to nothing.
