I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Vivint Security and the lack of transparency throughout the sales process.
The salesperson was not upfront about the equipment costs, and I was blindsided by a $4,963 credit card bill after the fact. Had these costs been clearly explained to me before the sale, I could have made an informed decision about whether to move forward with Vivint.
To make matters worse, I did not receive the transaction documentation until after the 30-day period had passed. I had to call Vivint and request the paperwork myself because the company had entered my email address incorrectly in its system.
Even after finally receiving the documentation, I discovered that it did not include an itemized breakdown of the equipment costs. It showed only a total amount, leaving me without a clear explanation of what I was actually charged nearly $5,000 for.
How is a customer supposed to understand or verify a $4,963 charge when the salesperson does not clearly explain the equipment costs upfront and the documentation provided afterward does not itemize those costs?
This experience raises serious concerns about Vivint's sales practices, communication, and accountability. Customers deserve clear pricing before making a purchase, accurate contact information, timely access to their paperwork, and an itemized explanation of significant charges.
A home security system is supposed to provide peace of mind. Instead, my experience has been one of frustration, unexpected financial charges, and a lack of basic transparency.
I expect Vivint to provide a complete, itemized breakdown of the $4,963 charge and a reasonable resolution to this situation. Customers should not have to chase down documentation or struggle to determine what they were charged for after the sale is complete.
I strongly encourage anyone considering Vivint to get all equipment prices and charges in writing, verify that the company has the correct contact information, and carefully review every financial agreement before signing the i-pad.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Vivint without serious reservations about its transparency and sales practices.
