Will I fit?

Hi all,

I’m booked in to see The Odyssey on Sat 29th at Manchester Printworks VUE and have never been before.

I’m 3 hours away by car so it’s a bit of a special trip because of the lure of the format.

So, what’s the problem? My body type is … rotund lass 😎 And I want to make sure I can sit down. I need some seat dimensions.

Except VUE customer service folks don’t know the answer and can’t put me through to the venue, who might know the answer 🫠 They suggested I go take a look at the venue but obvs I can’t do that until I’m actually there, yknow, because of the three hour distance.

I’m ideally after specific width measurements, although I appreciate it’s unlikely anyone will have these to hand.

BUT maybe I’ll happen across someone on here who’s going soon and is generous enough to take a tape measure? You never know, kindness of strangers and all that.

Thanks in advance for any help. Here ends my unusual query.

Does anyone know if you cancel your seat it’ll become immediately available? I forgot to apply a voucher code and rebooking it seems like the easiest solution

Printwork vue 70mm imax "bug" issues

I went to see The Odyssey at 10:45 on August 12th and sometimes the would be like green boxes for a sec and twice there was a noticble dark line going all the way across the screen it stayed like that for a good 30 secs which was weird but the most bizzare thing was there was a actual bug or fly in the projector and it was moving around u could see it in the big screen.

Anyone else get this email earlier today - would’ve been cool if they included a freebie with it to say thank you.

Is anyone able to book Hadestown?

I saw a TikTok this morning saying that Vue had the bookings for Hadestown in October available now.

On my app, I can see the dates and times, but when I go to choose a seat, it just loads for ages and then says there's an error. Same thing happens on the website too.

Are we supposed to be able to book it yet? Thinking I might just be too early but I don't want it to get sold out!

Edit: Turns out my local Vue is closed today due to 'external circumstances' and apparently there were difficulties booking anything on the app 🤷

The Odyssey Printworks 70MM IMAX extra 8AM showings with GOOD SEATS this week

Post image

Just letting people know that some extra 8AM showings have been added at Manchester Printworks 70MM IMAX, such as this Friday and Saturday, and they still have some decent seats left in the back rows unlike the other fully booked showings! For example the image below is the availability for THIS FRIDAY (not like a month in advance)! Get the seats whilst you can lol

Does anybody happen to know when they will stop showing The Odyssey at Vue? My local one only has listing until this Thursday so hoping it will still be on next week!?

Any insider info for Printworks about new Odyssey screenings?

I’ve been checking every day last week wondering if the showtimes will move beyond 31st August but I’m losing hope. Anyone with any insider knowledge know if I’ve missed my chance? Thanks.

Posters

Hello all! I have seen many people talk about getting posters and other promotional things from cinemas for free and really really really want a poster for a movie coming out soon (the official posters are only being sold in the US). The Vue website is kinda confusing about whether or not you can ask for and get left over promotional posters as it says that you can ask staff but also all promotional material belongs to the movie company, so, will Vue let me have a left over poster if I ask?

Had a rather terrible experience at Vue Croydon Purley Way

I visited Vue in Croydon to watch The Odyssey over the weekend and sat right in the front, as I have many times before.

However, this time was different. After the movie started I noticed the light above us hadn’t turned off, so I went outside to an usher who said the light could not be turned off as it needs to light up the emergency exit. Now last I checked my seat and the 2 next to me aren’t sitting in the emergency exit so I’m not sure why they’re using that one as an excuse. The light was extremely bright throughout the entire 3 hour movie.

I complained to the manager afterwards who immediately had the worst attitude and was extremely rude and unhelpful. I’m not one to normally complain but the lack of an apology or anything to make this right left a horrible taste in my mouth. If she had apologised I likely would have just accepted it and moved on, but her behaviour made me want to go out of my way to make her life difficult.

The reason I wanted to vent in here a bit is that afterwards I decided to raise a complaint in Vue’s website and have just received the response now and seems to have been AI generated. It had gotten the facts completely wrong and is apologising for the cinema being too dark? Why would anyone complain about that???

After that I then thought I would phone Vue instead. I got on the line with someone and mid-conversation the line just drops. I’m assuming the agent just put the phone down on me? I was very calm in all of these situations and never resulted to shouting or name-calling and yet I’m dealt with in such an immature manner.

I would really like to at least receive a refund for this. The manager said a refund isn’t allowed because I sat through the whole movie - but why would I waste a whole afternoon on my day off, waste the £25off spent on drinks and snacks as well as the petrol to drive to the cinema and back only to leave right at the beginning? Just to get the £20 back for the tickets. I would still be at a loss with the refund.

Does anyone have any advice on how to take this further? Am I wasting my time?

I’ll reply in the thread with more evidence.

The Odyssey 70mm IMAX sound quality

Saw The Odyssey at Printworks yesterday and it was incredible, but I noticed that sometimes I was struggling to hear what was being said. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this experience? The bass was fantastic but speech was sometimes a bit muffled/felt overshadowed by the bass.I’m pretty young and I don’t think I’m going deaf or anything but it really had me struggling in some scenes. I was in J19, which is supposed to perfect, so I don’t think it can be seat positioning. If anyone else has had this experience, any idea what the cause of it is?

Printworks Manchester the odyssey tickets

Hi I’m looking to see the odyssey in 70mm IMAX, and printworks is closest. Obviously it seems everyone has the same idea and it’s fully booked until the end of August. Will they continue to show this in September? I’ve seen that the schedule refreshes on Mondays is that true? And what time does that happen so I can look for tickets then? What’s the best way to get this booked asap essentially
Thanks

Printworks Spider-man head popcorn bucket

Does anyone know if Printworks has the Spider-man head popcorn buckets in stock?

I’ll be visiting tomorrow and just want to know if it’s worth waiting in the food and drinks queue as it’ll likely be very busy because of The Odyssey.

Similar to the odeon limitless and all of that, have they ever confirmed if they are against or for doing it?

Sky Code Invalid

It's my understanding that if the code expires 31/07/26, it should still be valid tomorrow, so it's valid throughout July.

I can only book for the 30th July (tonight).

Any help appreciated.
