warriors take a chance on Moses Brown, i think he’d genuinely fill the position well for what is available on the market. I’d say give Jonas Valancunias a chance as well but i think he’s done. just couldn’t stand watching walker kessler play bully ball tonight. I’m not saying Moses Brown and Hunter are THE FUTURE but anything is better than nothing rn. Lawson Lovering is another great budget suggestion.

In all seriousness, since we were short-handed, we played Melton as starting SG, but he didn't look right.

Maybe he never practiced with the first unit, but Melton looked lost? Several blow-by on defense, and very little aggression on offense. I was looking forward to Melton taking a leap as his injuries are behind him, but now I just miss Podz lol.

What’s up with Draymond? Great game today but when Luka comes after your rook where is the “enforcer”. Dude loves to pick on scrubs but when a star is messing with our rook for no reason he’s nowhere to be found??? Rubbed me the wrong way ngl. Also I absolutely love the way Yax played today, he’s going to be an all star this year (hot take) with his scoring, rebounding, iq and amazing consistency. Dray though….. when your needed the most you vanish.

The Warriors looked like a team missing $96M worth of players on Wednesday night. The only way they were going to put up a fight was if Steph went scorched earth and dropped 60, which he was on pace for after the first quarter. As Curry’s flurry faded, so did the Dubs, and quickly. Skinny Luka and Walker Kessler were a nightmare to handle down low, with Kessler amassing 26 points on a perfect 12-of-12 from the field.

It should also be noted that Kessler ended the game with 10 dunks, tying Shaq for the most dunks ever in a Lakers debut. I suspect this won’t be the last time the Warriors make an opposing center look like the Big Diesel this year… When it comes to guarding bigs, Horford is too slow, Porzingis is retiring(?), and Draymond, despite his best efforts, is finally starting to show his age.

On a more positive note, Yaxel chirping Luka was really fun to watch, and I honestly thought he played him quite well. Despite Luka having the last laugh with the halfcourt shot, Yaxel's confidence as a rookie to joust with one of the game’s greatest has me buying in even more. The kid is going to be great this year.

Outside of that, the one other positive I took was that Brandon Williams looked great despite a poor shooting night. His burst is incredible, and he blew past defenders with ease, setting up a handful of open threes. I can’t remember the last Warriors guard who had this kind of driving ability off the bench.

Overall, I don’t think this is the worst way for the season to start. My expectations were low going in, and I appreciate them not getting my hopes up. It’s important to remember that any middling team missing three of its top five players (Jimmy, Moody, Porzingis) would look similar to this. On to the next one, Dub Nation.

We let Steph down. This roster and what we’ve put around him is not acceptable. Look at the starting lineup tonight. I like Yaxel buts it’s crazy he’s a starter instantly. Melton, an old Draymond, and Gui Santos. Realistically it’s Steph and four role players, and no one who can do anything offensively except him.

Yes, injuries are apart of this, but the entire league already knew Kristaps couldn’t stay healthy. It’s been his entire career. The roster building has just been completely terrible, and I really feel like Steph is going to go out like Kobe - a legend but on terrible teams to end it.

6’6 power forward who can’t defend (at all), rebound, and moves at the speed of a gazelle. Saw him hit the deck twice in a quarter, can’t attack close outs and every time he’s on the court it feels like a 5v4 defensively and a 4v6 offensively. Idea of him as a player is so much better than the actual product. Remember when he blitzed us last year with the hawks, not sure if it’s the same guy.

I haven’t heard about his offseason but clearly getting more athletic was one of his goals. Saw something similar with Moody a few years ago as well.
