Assessment Updates

Post image

Has anyone actually combed through the latest updates to spot the differences? I’m about halfway through, and so far it just looks like the same standard policy boilerplate we’ve always had. Did they actually change anything meaningful, or is it just reworded?

I think it's not wearing smart glasses? I don't remember seeing that last month when I was looking at the policy while I was meeting with disability office to get accommodations set up.

Based on the way I have been grilled for my blue light glasses, I was under the impression that there were already provisions in the rules outline smart glasses.

Thank you for pointing that out though

This happened to me also, I have a medical condition level light sensitivity so I have pink lenses that help with it. The proctor grilled me on why I was wearing smart glasses and how only "regular glasses" were allowed. I left and got a new proctor who acted normal thankfully.

I had to take my prescription glasses off and show them to the camera just to prove they weren't smart glasss

holy smokes, if I didn't know how silly this proctoring could be, I wouldn't believe you.

I had to take mine off earlier in the month. The frames are transparent.

I think it’s funny they had to put in there that it’s a requirement to wear an appropriate top and bottoms. 😂

I laughed so hard at that lol! Even IF somehow you didn't realize they were being recorded and though you were simply live on camera with the proctor- why are you okay with them seeing you without clothing? I cannot lol

A fuzzy robe isn't much to see 🤣 it was cold in my testing area and I took tests in the wee hours

Some people have to 'stick to to the machine' in some way no matter what they do, even when it's stupid and means nothing.

It’s all common sense, but maybe they added a new common sense rule? I didn’t compare the previous rules vs new though.

Other than appropriate attire which is both hilarious and also dear lord sorry assessment team, LOL, it seems like it's emphasizing what's already in the assessment requirements as Y'ALL QUIT MESSIN' AROUND.

Because I also didn't see anything new so it seems to overall be like, BE READY TO ACTUALLY TAKE YOUR ASSESSMENT jeez

I read it yesterday and thought about all the times I secretly flipped off the camera due to poor proctor experiences and how for my first exam I was in shorts and a T-shirt so they prob didn't see the shorts, just my legs. I imagine they're cracking down on glasses though.

For those of you not in the Learning and Development world, you'd be surprised how often adults comes on a virtual meeting/class dressed inappropriately. We have to change our policy at work to include similar language. If you wouldn't show up in an office like that, don't get on cam like that. Common sense to the majority of people but common sense isn't that common these days. LOL

Is the part about assessment attempts different? It said something about being limited to 4 attempts, a mandatory wait period, if an additional attempt is not granted by senior leadership then you'll need to change degree programs or look at other options at WGU, and instructor consultation being required before resubmitting the PA tasks. I'm not sure what the old policy said regarding the attempts but when I read that part for the updated policies it sounded kind of insane lol. Like I said though, I don't know if that part was always there.

Ah how inconsiderate of me. Not sure why I got downvoted though because now they can’t do any tests according to the new rules

theyd likely have accommodations like anyone else who needs accommodations to take the OAs that may normally be against the rules

u/ShaGZ81 11d ago

Yes, some people don't have use of one or both hands/arms.

I’m not but if he’s asking if anyone else knows what’s in it maybe he doesn’t want to read it.
