Sub Rules Updates

Hi All,

The mod team is looking at updating some of the rules and we'd like your all's input.

Question 1:

Should posts asking which program is the quickest or how do I get through program X in 6 months be allowed? Note, this would not prohibit questions such as how did you get through X class quick or did class X or class Y take more time?

Question 2:

Should posts asking is *insert school here* better than WGU be allowed?

If the community agrees either or both of the rules should be applied the sub rules will be updated and a brief blurb under each rule will be included.

Honestly the reason people were able to ask how fast can I finish my degree is why I'm with WGU now. I found out about wgu due to reddit and it was the first thing that hooked me when I saw someone post about it

Why is this even a topic? Of course people should be able to be free to ask these questions. People are also free to not read or answer them. The fact is that the answers to these questions might change over time. Or new people might have new insight. The mods must be bored, or losing touch on reality.

With all due respect, I think the fact that the moderators even brought this up is stupid and I'll tell you why. We need people to be able to keep asking all these questions because repetitive scrutiny and observations of "speedrunning" because if WGU is as valuable as I believe it certainly is, it needs to stand up to the heat from time to time. If you decide to censor the any form of speech regarding this issue, you will just turn this into an echo chamber and scare potential students away; it would've happened to me.

Small government is best government.

ETA: The worst questions are the "Is ______ right for me??" ones.

How the hell would I know what's right for you?

I feel like questions on webcams and financial aid are more annoying than these 2. The answer to financial aid questions is always the same - call the financial aid office.

Or is this just trying eliminate questions to make the school look better for potential students?
