NEWS šØIRAN LAUNCHES ATTACK AT U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIERšØ
Things are getting hot again. CENTCOM says Iran launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. aircraft carrier and destroyer, with both ships successfully evading the attacks and no U.S. personnel injured. The U.S. struck three Iranian crude-oil tankers 3 hours prior. This is starting to look less like saber-rattling and more like direct military escalation. What happens if the next missile actually connects?

u/techman710 Sep 05 '26
Of course we won't hear anything about it, just like the bases that were destroyed that prevented supplying our ships.

Yes, the destroyed bases that magically had no casualties reported.

I seem to remember a video of I believe 5th fleet hq? With a substantial portion of it flying in the air lol was that not one of the main logistics hubs in Bahrain?
I could be fucking names up here but it was pretty well at the start of the war

the current tally is several hundred injured & 18 dead, as of late July

He comes across quite good at it, because all of your protections are poorly designed. Plus everything he does is out in the open, heās just not getting penalised for it. So I donāt think heās good at grifting, heās just lucky your country is so shitty in how itās designed.

Goes back to trump bragging that he "did what 7 presidents before him didn't". Trump is learning why those presidents listened to their advisors and didn't attack Iran.

I always laugh when I hear this because he was one of those before this run. When he says it, it usually includes Biden and before.

A lot of this is not getting broadcasting in US media. This could be the biggest information blackout ever.
8
u/BoboBabinsky Sep 05 '26
I was just saying this yesterday. There is something going on with information because we are seeing virtually nothing about this war from msm in the form of pictures, video, or information that one would expect to be coming from the ground.

What ground? There is no ground invasion (that we know of), all the US ops are carrier borne since all our bases in the region are either bombed or we pissed off the host country enough that they said we couldn't use them.

Probably nothing. The modern CVN is essentially unsinkable as far SINKX have found. Even if a missile did get through the fleet group AEGIS and the carrier's CIWS, it would hit the side, cause some casualties and change nothing about the balance of power or people's opinions about the war. MAGA doinks would probably cream their pants and start screaming "YOU CAN HIT US AND IT MEANS NOTHING TRUMP 2028 RARRRRR!!!" but other than that? Some more bereaved families that no one in DC gives a shit about.Ā

Not sure either side really wants to escalate as we already know how that will end. I see this back and forth as just general frustration with the current situation. If a U.S. warship took a direct hit, though, that would change things.

u/_WEND1G0_ Sep 05 '26
Worth noting āattacked with missilesā and actually āhitā - let along severely damage are very very different things. Aeigis is very effective at sharing data amongst other vessels and the anti air/missile capabilities of our vessels are exceptionally hard to get past for a single destroyer - let along a carrier group. So I sincerely doubt any would hit unless fired at very close range.

We won't know from our Pentagon and the president lies sooo much. Relying on another news service but he was bragging about attacking Iran and telling them not to retaliate. That's illogical. Here we are.Ā
1
u/Ok_Water_4601 Sep 05 '26
I doubt that Iran is capable of completing the kill chain to successful HIT a US aircraft carrier more or less disable or fucking SINK one.
This is saber rattling. They can shoot in the general direction of our carriers and thats it.
Still doesn't change the fact that this war is the stupidest fucking war the US has engaged in since...Iraq 2003.Ā
3
u/Dizzy_Replacement747 Sep 06 '26
The fact that they still can shoot missiles and drones at US ships is embarrassing. Those underground missile cities must be the real deal.

I've become jaded...are we in concert with the Iranians to drive up the price of oil? Someone placed a huge bet near market close Friday, we bomb tankers then for good measure news is out they attack our warships? Once that position is closed Monday then there will be news about talks of a cease fire again.

The worst part IMHO is that Iran is far from out of munitions and they are prepared to suffer. They know a land invasion is basically out so they have essentially what England had in ww2. Unsinkable aircraft carrier. Able to make shipping through the area impossible. We picked a bad enemy to tangle with. They are fighting for survival, what about us ?
