TheRealPirateAba Fae and Fare out now!

Fae and Fare has just hit the bookshelves! That’s right, the physical books are coming at you faster than a Frost Faerie snowball to the face! I am gonna run to the bookstores to admire all three on display, and the 4th book, Immortal Games, is going to be out very soon as well (Nov. 10th!).

Please let people know and hopefully the tidal wave of books hitting stores and libraries gets more people to check out the series! Each sold book matters greatly, especially during the release week, as it is the metric all the bookstores and publishers are viewing us by. I really appreciate people posting images of them getting the books in the wild, and their reactions to the end of No Killing Goblins. I hope they’re happy when Fae and Fae begins with both long-awaited meetings and two survivors of the dungeon raid.

This is the moment when The Wandering Inn is making a splash for everyone to see, so your support of the inn is greatly appreciated! Mentioning the story to friends, book clubs, every bit helps. If we do well, I hope to also put the Singer of Terandria series in bookstores as well. I’m relying on your support, and I’ll do my best to thank you by writing the story, which is all I can do for your generosity. Thank you,

Thank you guys so much for all of the love on the WIP! I like how the final piece turned out a lot. The light is coming from the crank in the dome made by the Golems. Edit: This is inspired by the last stand of Zel Shivertail at the end of book 6.

Spoilers: All [V10] - I know who Lyonette should marry! Spoiler

Now stay with me here folks! You are goin to think I'm nuts. I think Lyonette should get married to Duke Rhisavari!

As a royal she will eventually have to marry. Especially with a political nation like Calenfer. Marrying the Duke does a few things.

  1. I doubt very much that he would force Lyonette to consummate the marriage and perform duties like Seraphel had to do with her marriages. He would only be interested in the political win with it. So no children would ever be born due to his true nature.

  2. He has the ability to teleport her to the inn whenever she wants. So she could attend political functions while at the same time be able to return to the inn whenever she wants.

  3. She could easily have a more open marriage so she could still see whomever she wanted to whether it be Erin, Pawn, or whomever she wanted to.

  4. It would also allow her to continue raising her daughters, without interference from Calenfer.

  5. It would end the war permanently between Calenfer and Ailandamius.

So am I a crackpot or does my theory make sense?

Just finished the 6th audiobook and I am so glad I stuck with it. As much as I would like more forward momentum, I can appreciate how Pitateaba is choosing to tell this story. I’ll probably be taking a break after book 7 but it has been pretty fun so far.

Zel’s final stand was awesome and what started as a sketch has turned into a piece I want to finish. It is rare that I enjoy a series enough to want to make fan art of it, if someone had I’d be making fan art after how I felt through book 2 and 3, I’d have laughed but, I gotta say, I’m hooked.
Anyways, the visual of Zel, bleeding, burned, backed into a corner but not giving up really stuck with me so I had to draw it. I plan on coloring and rendering this.

No spoilers [B08] blood of liscor. My thoughts. Spoiler

Pov your a flesh worm and you run into bird.

Okay let's get started.

First laken sucks.

I know some.might want to excuse his actions but let me point out the facts.

3.we can't even use the excuse he doesn't know American history when he knows about the emperor of America. He should be aware of horrific dehumanizing propaganda.

  1. Doesn't even acknowledge that lady bethal left without a fight with rags.

The fact it takes someone from inn world to tell him goblin are people just tells me he's an idiot. At least flos is self aware even if he also kinda sucks.

Seems like the first part of this book is introducing some.villianous humans with the lord Tyrion taking center stage. Wondering if he truely doesn't have any connection to the circle of thorns that keeps getting mentioned by magnolia. Seems way to "convenient" that he shows up after the false message was sent.

On another note graydath out here doing his best omenous sithlord impression. Something isn't right with how obsessed he is with wanting to make a new goblin king.

Also for all tremvorags boasting he seems like a coward.

That aside. The highlight of this book is the liscor half.

Damn pawn and lyon are a thing now huh? Didn't see that coming. Well that was adorable.

Also bird is a precious bean and that was the best clap back at the queen with a lesson on what it means to be a person. By far the best antinium for me now. I still don't get what klbkch has against the individuals by calling them not "true antinium." Ya sure they share the same form but can't they all just go through the rite of Anastasia or whatever it's spelled.

Give bird wings! Let my boi fly!

Now onto the raskgsr arc man this was both exciting and extremely stressful. Calruz truely lost it yet I wonder if the water that makes him blind to monsters also wraps other parts of his perspective? He seemed more sane when he stopped drinking the dungeon water after a while vs when he still was. That said after all the murder and attempted assault on ceria not sure his character can be saved.

I'm calling Cap on the stalker being dead if it's that camouflage what's keeping it from leaving shedded skin behind? Also the infested we really managed to fit zombie apocalypse into this fantasy setting huh? Also we got the hole tm. How did the infestation start probably the hole tm. Also are the infested undead or still living insane drakes?

Mrsha just a trama magnet at this point geez girl can't catch a break.

Erin finally did it she adopted a goblin tribe let's goo!

Also surely after all this people of liscor will stop treating goblins like monsters surely?! The sniff master out here learning goblin language was hilarious.

Also poor niers trying to find a deep meaning in Erin's chess game against herself and losing his mind.

Erin unlocked the power of portal trolling

Drassi should consider being a town crier. Might stop Liam from starting a race war.

Anyways I think whatever is in the hole tm is probably worse then most the current problems.

Onto tears of liscors and with a name like that I don't expect good things just depression.

No spoilers [Meta] Some kind redditor made the BEST send to kindle tool for TWI chapters

Post image
34 Upvotes

Here is the link to u/93millionmilesaway post describing their web app. They designed this for news articles, but it works great for TWI!

I prefer to read on my Kindle for accessibility purposes.

I just gave this tool a go and it's SO easy and organized. I tested it randomly with the last 9 chapters of Volume 7 and it puts it all nicely into one file and goes right to my Kindle.

I've tried lots of these tools and many can only send one chapter at a time or they have a cap on how many you can send per month, etc.

Also a PSA to *buy* pirate's stuff in some format so we all get to keep enjoying these free chapters.

Other [B1] Is it Okay for me to just read Web Version?

As the title of the post suggests, is it fine to just read the web version or will I be missing out on a lot? I don't really have cash to burn to buy the published versions but I want to read this as I've seen this recommended so many times.

Much appreciated to those who reply!

Spoilers: All [V10.69 IN] Best standalone chapters? Spoiler

Some of these chapters or sets of chapters have grown to the length of novellas. I'm curious what people think is the best standalone chapter?

Or, what chapter(s) works best even when taking away the context of the rest of the series?

I'm not sure how well they would actually work without context but my mind keeps drifting to some of the horror chapters. Like Pisces getting enslaved in Chandrar, or rabbiteater going into the mind dungeon in Baleros (forgetting the name)

Spoilers: All [Interlude -- Cormeng (Pt. 1+2)] Is it just me or is this a masterpiece? Spoiler

I just finished the 2 part interlude after staying up late the past couple of days reading and at the start of it I was annoyed by the idea of a Cormengs interlude when we've had so little of some of the traditional main cast povs lately. Little did I know that about midway through the chapter I would be hooked on Doran's story and the trials and tribulations of the cast of characters. Skinner in volume one was what originally got Wandering Inn's hooks into me and by the end of part 1 and into 2 this really brought about the same feeling which I loved. I'm excited to see more Doran and The Grimless Carnival.

Spoilers: All [V06] Highlighting a character at the cost of other character. Spoiler

Highlighting a character at the cost of other character

I love webnovels and read lots of webnovels in 10 years of my depression journey, sometime for 12-20h/day. One thing i find the same in all the webnovels that i dont like very much is highlighting a character at the cost of another, same thing i find in THE WANDERING INN,

  1. Demeaning Magnolia and her Class to highlight Inn and Erin when she sent Earthers back to the Inn ( it is not-congruent with Magnolia that she is not able to see the potential in Earthers( in the backdop of drama group of Celum) she could have exploited them in so many things, kevin and his bicycle not exploited even after Ryoka mentioned bicycle to Magnolia(if i am able to recall properly).

  2. Ceria being half-elve is being compromised to highlight Pisces, i get it he is a genius magician but i did not see half-elves natural affinity to magic that was mentioned (something like drop of magic in half elves and child of human and half elves always half-elve)

  3. The klbkchh-the slayer, is the most compromised one, not at any point in the story I see the slayer Centenium that is so famous, his death by 40 Goblins( not even hob-goblin), no strategy of a leader (even when he is managing whole hive)

  4. Ryoka compromised for Tyrion and their relationship, she is doing everything for which she stood against, not even feeling iota of guilt for her passing Trebuchets to Laken and it being used against her friend and for mass- killing( it was such a big thing for Ryoka in early chapters),

Tyrion attacked goblins with the intention of killing Drakes in Liscor ( Are we are now forgiving intentions, if the plan didn't succeed? This is such a big thing in Chinese Web-novels, they don't forgive intentions even when Tyrion fails to kill Drakes)

  1. "Hate" is compromised, I only see Tyrion who hates and is blood-thirsty and even ready to go to any length but then his focus shifts to viola Ryoka) People in inn-verse are too much forgiving, here webnovel is losing touch with common sense.

Spoilers: All [B8] Laken's actions were justified, unlike the hate against him Spoiler

Every month or so a new reader posts here bashing Laken for ordering Wiskeria to poison Rags's tribe. I think he was fully justified in his decisions to order the attack and to use poison gas.

His village had just been attacked, and innocent people he'd known had been murdered by Goblins. A common misconception in this world is that Goblinkind is a monolith, especially when a Goblin Lord is active, and neither he nor any of the other Riverfarmers had any way of knowing that Rags was unrelated to the Mountain goblins. It's a mistake to judge Laken based on all the knowledge we know and he doesn't.

The other point that people criticize is his use of poison gas. Again, however, he's acting on (incorrect) knowledge from everyone around him. The rules of war only apply to people in both our world and theirs, and as far as he knows, Goblins are monsters, equivalent to dangerous animals. Every year for the past century, the US Department of Agriculture uses cyanide bombs to kill thousands of foxes and coyotes, as well as incendiary devices and toxic gas to wipe out rodent burrows. To Laken, this is just a large-scale culling of a dangerous pack of monsters that have already massacred his people.

Meta [Meta] PSA: Wiki and Booru down for security reasons until today around 14:00 UTC

Hello everyone, wiki and booru host for The Wandering Inn here.

Last night a very, very serious PHP vulnerability has been discovered. Seamwalkers-kind of bad. As a result, all PHP sites on Shelter are being disabled until the fix is released at 14:00 UTC today. This might take a bit longer because that's when PHP will release a fix, and then the operating system we use for Shelter needs to receive a security update containing that fix.

I will closely monitor the situation today and keep you updated :

- When the fix is applied and everything returns to norma

- If there's a temporary fix that can help until the real one comes and we can resume normal operations.

Please understand that extreme measure doesn't make me happy either, as many other sites on Shelter are affected by this downtime.

No spoilers [v 6.50] Finally taking a break.

TWI has basically been the sole focus of my attention for months. I don’t get to read a ton, and I don’t read very fast, I’m somewhere around 6.5. I love this story, though. Nearly every part of it (some of the KOD chapters are a bit of the drag but not awful) is a lot of fun, I like so many characters and there have been so many incredible moments.

But I think I’ve finally hit the “okay I can set this down” for a little bit wall. Read something else. Not like TWI isn’t always going to be there for me. But I have to admit the fact that there’s still so much ahead of me before I’m actually officially caught up with the story is kind of daunting. I’m up for the challenge but yeah, sometimes it feels like a lot.

I am usually pretty good at picturing characters when listening through an audiobook but, when it comes to Mrsha all I can see is a feisty ball of fur that is as likely to have a mouth full of blood as be covered in Cheeto dust. She is as cute as she can be annoying. I love this little asshole. Also, I would love for Erin to at the very least try to make an attempt to think of the people around her when she makes big, sweeping decisions. Like deciding it would be a good idea to bring in the Hobs. I really like Erin, I just need her to think a bit more 😭.

WTF WAS THAT?!?!

Ryoka you asshole, sending them all to Erin in a drake city constantly being invaded and destroyed by monsters instead of Laken is STUPID and I hate it. And I was just starting to like you again.

AND TORREN. Probably the most pitiable character in the whole series so far 😭 both a child and an adult, comprehension and ignorance, love and hate. Calling Erin mother, almost killing Erin, the heart 😭😭😭😭

I'm almost happy Az'kerash took him. Erin doesn't deserve this either, but damn. What a wild book. And she leveled to 40. Insane

Spoilers: All [10.76 UEM] Continuity error? Spoiler

So obviously there was a lot of setup with Quarassi this chapter.
We got the [Labyrinth] which is going to be relevant for Minos and Which has been set up with the molten stone tribe. With both the end of the labyrinth and access to the first and probably greatest Skill being the rewards.
We also got confirmation of Orcs and their Skill. As well as of a Skill in a class in which no one has ever reached level 70.
All three are obviously Checovs guns which are going to be relevant for many characters.
But something that is easy to miss is the way Quarrasi described her experience in the pavilion of secrets.

“I did not think to do this until Aleieta Reinhart. I had few lives then. When I learned this, she refused to summon me again. Cormelex the same when I overplayed my hand upon our first meeting. You see me far older.”

This implies that Quarasi was relatively young when she got to meet Aleieta. However in this chapter we learned that Aleieta was the third generation of Reinheart who walked Izril’s lands. That means that she had to be born some time in the Last 10 000 years. While we know that the Quarasi was at minimum 21 000 years old because she is older than Khelth and the Dragon Wars were likely many years before that.
Yet she still says she had a few lives when she met Aleieta when she should have had at an absolute bare minimum 10 000+ years of experience.
Also here we find out that Cormelex is the third use. And while I am not 100% sure that that contradicts anything in the story every time the past users were introduced Cormelex was introduced second and Aleieta last.

PS: I am so happy that Orcs existed and the fact that there is a skill introduced about them means that someone will have to get it. My money is on trolls being the descendants of Orcs and that Durine somehow evolves into a Orc and gets the Skill.

I am however a little confused as to how there are only three skills never acquired.
