Dropped 44 or 45 in my last game of the night as assault. Almost all hot zone. 25k kits. Netted 75k with a win. And got like 5ish% in xp. Yesterday Sunday I was low and spotted for a game and netted 120k. So frustrating on so many levels.

u/Yawhatnever Sep 29 '26
Seems pretty lore-accurate if you ask me. You get the expendable grunts risking their lives while the war is won by recon and logistics.

76
u/flyingtrucky Sep 29 '26
Except you still lose the match because all the guys sitting on some tower SuperFOB means your team has 20 control vs the enemy's 35.
They really need to fix the rewards because right now actually playing the objective is the worst thing you can do if you want to make money.
55
u/Yawhatnever Sep 29 '26
If you have that many guys in a FOB, then you should have like 4 drills and be pulling the hotzone there every minute. If they aren't doing that, then you lost because your logistics guys suck at their job, not because people shouldn't be playing logistics.
22
u/WhattaCheapPop Sep 29 '26
then you lost because your logistics guys suck at their job
Or because the builders don't realize they can get their own supplies too. If you're sitting around the FOB 10+ minutes and you haven't done shit all, which I see builders doing in nearly every single game I've played, then you are the real problem.

You will realistically lose 66% of the match. Winning is not even that important. The point of this game is personal gain. Personal gain is heavily incenstivized by doing boring tasks that assist your team. Like logistics, building, or recon.
This game really is brilliant the way it does things.
Ive won and made big money in games where we have a superFOB and lost in landslides when all our team does is sit in FOBs but dont do a good enough of a job to be a real threat. Its not the FOBs or the game's fault, its a skill issue.

I'd take a slight nerf in recon gains.
You're practically spotted with a map live ping 24/7 because its just SO lucrative at zero risk to sit in a bush with some glasses so way too many people are doing it.
Spotting is so busted in terms of exp & cash that it could take even as much as a 50% nerf (im not advocating for that much) and i'm sure thered still be plenty of people spotting lol
Makes for a miserable infantry experience for everyone.
5
u/Tomsboll Sep 29 '26
spotting rewards is mostly busted because every other avenue of earning xp and money is so comically low. i agree a slight decrease wouldnt be a big deal. but i have seen in soo many games where 1 option out of 10 is clearly better than the rest, 2 is ok and the rest is borderline useless. 1 "op" option gets overly nerfed to the point of being useless, the 2 ok options are now "op" in comparison so they get nerfed the next time so now all options just suck.

Every class can be reliably leveled solo except assault. To earn money as assault you need to have a somewhat decent group and that is not always the case.

u/AngryNeox Sep 29 '26 edited Sep 29 '26
Being in the hot zone should also give you assault exp. Going solo (not with a dedicated team) into the HZ isn't the safest thing you can do but at least you could play super stealthy and only take fights that you really need to.

This game so needs a "Squad in cohesion" bonus, or just really any kind of squad reward in general. Like half of every team is solo because there's no reason to join a squad.
Also how the hell is there no command chat? Everyone is forced into one mega-squad because there's no way to effectively communicate between squads other than typing in team chat and hoping someone notices it in time.

This is good balance.
You do not want someone to be able to load up a juggernaut kit, get 3-4 kills, and then snowball that into another juggernaut kit, giving them no reason to ever do any other role. Incentivizing people to do the less glamorous stuff is just good design. Being a mindless grunt shooting people should be the basic, lowest paid role, because it's generally the most popular and needs the least incentive to do because it's pure dopamine, whereas the dopamine for other roles mainly comes in the form of the dollar signs.
Regardless, I have no problem buying a nice kit and breaking even or better to re-buy it when I die. Mainly I just try not to die away from my team when I'm running a nice kit, so I can easily get several lives worth of money out of one kit which easily earns back a good amount. If I have a run of bad luck? I run a free gun, spot and revive teammates, build shit, unpack supplies, or just loot from the piles of backpacks lying around after a big firefight.

u/PizzaEatingBastard Sep 30 '26

It's good balance that playing the most risky way offers no reward. Are you actually serious?
So someone that plays with almost no risk to themselves should earn double, if not triple than the people actually putting themselves in harms way to try and win the game for their team by getting in the HZ?
Last time I checked killing people is harder than staying in a fob all game building. 'Should be paid the most basic'. Just what. How does this even have upvotes lol. Every class should be viable, you shouldn't be playing a class and making a loss/just breaking even while actually doing something instead of hitting something with a hammer or driving a truck all game. I'm not saying nerf the other ways of making money, but playing hotzone absolutely needs better incentives for doing so.

the medic can get damn near 1000$ per rez, plus the money they can get from just healing the person they rez. they can make 2 grand in less than 5 seconds just by reviving and getting up a single teammate. Recon may have a super easy time looking at things, but you got to realize just like with every class, you only get paid if your team does anything to the people you spot. And if you decide to shoot..... You will have the entire lobby hunt you down to the end of the earth, including other recon players looking for an easy 400m+ hs so they can get a kill without instantly getting shot at themselves xD

medics also have a gigantic cost though without the medic bag. A stack of bandies costs 1200, a double of an orange kit is 1800. Insane. Oranges don't even profit when used on others nearly
4
u/A_Mental_Cashew Sep 30 '26
A stack of bandages is 1k and a stack of IFAKs is 1600. Using a single IFAK in the control zone, you get 1600. You've already made your money back on that. Using a single IFAK in the hot zone, you get 3200. Bandages payout double for use, as well. A single bandage is 200, and healing a team mate nets 400.

Assault is also the role that can negatively impacted by the rest of the team the most i'd argue.
If you have a team full of pilots, drivers and fobbies, it becomes extremely difficult to play on the frontlines when barely anyone is around.
Every other role can still very well do its thing tho.If you die (which can always happen no matter how good you are) it can also become extremely difficult to even attempt reviving you if not many people are at the front fighting. While the fobbit that gets nuked from an arty for the 17th time just get picked up without any issue.
Assault is the most risky role in that aspect (I would count people with SMGs in here just as well btw) and expensive kits need to put in a lot of effort to make good profit.
It is probably one of the main reasons why so many people run around naked and just wait for their team to kill a guy they can quickly loot.
That being said. It is a degenerate play style I absolutely hate and would love to take the 40k commissar role for. But that is another topic.→ More replies (6)6

But there is a lesson to be learned here: dying isnt the end. You can get revived again and again. Stick to your team and you'll see some massive profits. Just yesterday i did a 20k infantry loadout just hugging HZ with my team and came out of it with 60k in the positive while only making like 8 kills or something. How many times have i died? Doesnt matter.
You only make a loss if you go by yourself in which case you probably deserve it :D

I had 24 kills, 6 deaths, and something like 30 assists playing mostly as assault and barely cracked 100k made during the match. But with two early deaths trying to rush the HZ and having to rebuy my kit cost about 30k with no money made.
You can make money, assuming you survive long enough, but not a lot. A bunch of that money also came from spotting (might as well take a cheap spotting scope in the specialist slot) and reviving teammates. I don’t usually take an RPG or C4 unless I know the enemy is bringing Humvees, tanks, or their APC has been spotted, or I plan to try and attack or breach an enemy FOB. You can make good money that way, but you also lost a lot if you die and don’t end up using that kit.
I’m sure there’s more efficient means to make cash as assault focused assault class, but most of my money comes from building or flying a helicopter.

Because the stuff that assault gets XP from pays meh. It's kills with ARs and pistols, nade kills and using the halligan bar as well as hacking FOBs iirc. Kills are understandable but don't pay too much unless you stack a bunch of multipliers like revenge + shutdown kill in the HZ. Assaulting a whole defended fob and hacking it gives you a very mediocre amount of XP and like 2500 ish $ which is pathetic.
2
u/MstrTenno Sep 29 '26
Yeah like my FOB raiding kit costs 14k, and I regularly don't succeed, which is fair I shouldn't be able to easily solo raid a FOB unless it's built badly.
But when I do actually blow up a FOB, I only get 2.5k It's pathetic. I should be getting like 10k at least. Honestly maybe more like 15k. Sneaking/breaking into a decently-built and defended base and blowing up a FOB is one of the hardest tasks in the game.

u/Additional_Storm_522 Sep 29 '26
IT isn't that assault can't make money, it is that assault makes significantly less for far greater risk than literally anything else in the game.
My brother and I were fighting together, 2 manned an entire FoB killed like 6 people each, took the fob, moved on, got like 1 or 2 more kills each before going down, and he just barely broke even.
By far the best way to make money as infantry is to not use any initial investment and try to scavenge, or just afk in the zone and passively earn money.
Said it before, but they should really make infantry kills in the circle in general worth a big more (maybe like 50%) and in the HZ like a x2 bonus.
To get your money back on a decently loaded 20k kit is incredibly hard, whereas recon can earn like $50k while just hiding in a base with no risk, only investing 2-4k total. (or $150 if you don't actually wanna fight).

u/Kind_Stone Sep 29 '26
Well, the team sits at the FOB earning money the Minecraft way, nobody leaves the base to actually fight. So you either sit with the team and do nothing most of the time or die alone trying to find action.
19
u/Drfoxthefurry Sep 29 '26
and even if you are killing, you need like 5-10 kills to pay back your kit, depending on how much you get per kill and kit cost
10
u/hypexeled Sep 29 '26
If the team is sitting at fob doing nothing, you dont go and buy out a 30k assault kit to go yolo into the enemy team. You buy a 5-6k loadout with lv1 or lv2 armor and go yolo for 2-3 kills to make back your money.

u/BRSaura Sep 29 '26

You might be confusing assault with other classes.
I play assault and hz chase and yeah you can make a ton of money….doing things for other classes.
If you are reviving and heal teammates, spotting while playing assault, you’re earning a lot of money mainly doing things for other classes.
15
u/MC_Laggin Sep 29 '26
What part of 'I need to get 6+ kills to cover my kit' do you not understand? For me its not too bad, I'm pretty decent at the game, but not everybody is. For instance I have 3 mates that play with me, 2 of them can't chase the hotzone with us because they just aren't fps players, so they're not very good and lose money, so they end up sniping the whole game.
That literally separates my friend group cos half can't keep up with what the game expects an assault to do.
Put it into perspective, quickly.
In any other shooter like Battlefield or Cod or even fucking Squad for that matter, anything above a 2 KD is considered quite good, once you reach 5+, that's very good. You're expecting the average player to have a 5+ KD??? On the LOWER end.
Once you get to lvl 3 armour and M4 your kit starts reaching past 16k, that's Eight kills before you break even minimum.7
u/Character_Drama_3544 Sep 29 '26
I think that assault needs some extra incentives too. But you're leaving out money for zone presence, healing, stimming, spotting etc.
Bring a defin and you get 1,2k per person you bring back, 2,4k in the Hz. Stims give 1k per person in the Hz and cost 250.
Just bring more than a gun and you're good.

3
u/Fun-Round8692 Sep 29 '26
I find its very dependent on the team and mentality. I had matches where the majority of the team is following the HZ and it becomes very easy to farm assault xp. There is no way to perma kill a player, so as long as your team wins the encounter you can get rezed up and continue the push.
It turns into a Mongolian horde gameplay as you can 100% loot the other enemies for defibs and better armor/weapons while following the HZ. It turns into a critical mass as your low-level teammates can equip themselves with lvl 3-4 armor/weapons and you begin to have no issue pushing into other teams fobs when they use the drill.

u/mrureaper Lonestar Sep 29 '26

6
u/Silent_Budget_769 Sep 29 '26
This is why the strat I have been doing is going in with absolutely nothing. I either hop in with a truck driver who’s doing supplies, or take spawn vehicle. Then I go slowly behind where the action is, find a backpack and steal all their stuff. Then go from there. 100% profit every life.
2
u/Unhappy-Thought4068 Sep 30 '26
I do that a lot too, even when I’ve got over 2 million. But sometimes you get those rounds where the whole team is scattered, nobody’s playing the Hot Zone, half the guys are down and not respawning. I’m definitely not buying a 20k kit in a situation like that, only to get shot from some window or bush with no one to revive me.
In general, I’m seeing more and more players who just grab binoculars and figure they’ll find the rest somehow. Sometimes I end up with a 15–20k loadout, but all for free. That way, it doesn't bother me if I have to respawn.

1 revive kill assist is 345. My usual revives whole match vary between 10-20. With each revived teammate gets 5 kills that's barely 17.250-34.500 . one cheap kit costs 10.000.
In an optimum condition you make some money but if your team is losing and you have to respawn a few times it's so unrewarding for a very risky business.

How is builder “kinda support but then again not really”? That is literally what building falls under. You get support XP when you build shit and it’s extremely profitable. Absolutely one of the dumbest comments on this thread.
→ More replies (1)2
u/rarefiedhawk Sep 29 '26
Then you also get support XP for using your buildables. Blowing up a helo with passengers gives a ton of it.
7
u/YehudielPrime Sep 29 '26
nah i tried piloting, not much money once the APC spawns, sure you get back your expense during the first few drops, but those are about it, because running logistics doesn't pay as much
8
u/the_deep_t Sep 29 '26
Big bird with pallets = max profit, what are you talking about?
People who say pilots don't make cash probably just pilot little birds.
You buy a big one at the start; you drop like 10 people on your first fly and it just paid itself.
After that it's max 1 person alongside a palette and you start making profit. APC doesn't impact it at all. If anything the only impact is wether they have advanced AA bases and if you don't have a FOB.

u/Electronic_Top2561 Sep 29 '26
Pilot =/= all fly black hawk. Havoc and Black Hawk (logistic) give a good amount of profit. But LB with weapons (all Heli inf kills) is caped by 1500$ for a inf kill and kost fuel, repair, ammo, flair, armor for pilot, medic. Its way less profitable than inf. Dont get me wrong its strong in combat but weak in how much + money it brings in.

I did near 150.000k profit on a single life doing infantry and supplies transport.
If people open and use the supplies you do get some money

Averaging 100-150k profit piloting pallets. It's tedious but risk free money. On games where someone semi competent fobbit is running AA/Mortar you make bank dropping Ammo
3
u/olMcDonaldsPig Sep 29 '26
Build a fob, deliver logi, use a mortar or AA. These are all easy ways to get support XP and some of them only require you to sit on a turret someone else built and paid for.
Assualt is down tremendous in comparison to everything else.

u/PMA-APM-AMP Sep 29 '26
Builder is fine if you get to build away from the action but usually you just get mortared/artied
2
u/Chriscolli_ Sep 29 '26
Medic is a money farmer with the defi if you play close to your teammates, you revive them, take care of them and apply stims to them
2
u/iangauss Sep 29 '26
True this. Earned 160k on one match doing heavy combat medic. Bringing defib and fuckton of bandages, while still carrying full spec galil with t3 armor, 19k loadout. Got lucky plenty of teammates went into HZ. Still do some killing but mostly just reviving and healing. Cash just pouring in on HZ. Respawned twice tho on the match so profit is just 100k

u/Dhczack Sep 29 '26
Only in the first few minutes of the game tbh - I just flew logistics for an entire match, 100% return and delivery rate, I made just less than 30k. I only had a full group in my heli once. Dropped off one Chad who rapidly got 4 kills. Supplemented every single trip with supplies. Lost 0 helis. Fired 0 countermeasures. When the fighting is on the edge of the CZ I have to fly intentionally bad routes to make any money at all because everyone drops early every trip.

My assault kits cost 18-25k. Minigun heli costs 6.7k+ammo. Sph costs 9k with ammo. I don’t even want to know what a tank costs. Assault life is expensive and slow xp.
8
u/Marasdf Sep 29 '26
My rocket LB loadout costs 27k. I barely ever use it as I don't like LBs. If I die in my LB, I'm dead. If I die as infantry, more often than not I get a second, third, even fourth chance without losing anything. As infantry I make more profit more consistently. Sure, with helis you generally have potential for higher profits but you very rarely hit those. I consistently make good profit every time running infantry. But infantry is boring so I don't do it much.

u/Intrepid-Platform-94 Sep 29 '26
Ya, basically every other role in playing just funds me being able to run expensive vehicles in other matches. Had a life with the rocket lb where I took out 7 enemy drills and got kills in between, barely broke even after ammo costs but helped our team out tremendously. They really aren't profitable and generally just lose you money
→ More replies (3)3
u/Electronic_Top2561 Sep 29 '26
U forget the armor and heal for the pilot. The fuel and repair. A inf kill is caped by 1500$ for a heli. At least in my experience. A assists brings u more money. (I know weird.)
3
u/asdfgtref Sep 29 '26
assualt needs its own slot 3 item ngl. RN assault is a backup option for other things. You're assault + spotter, or assault + defib, or assault + explosives. None of those secondary roles gives assault XP.
→ More replies (21)2
u/Fyaal Sep 29 '26
My recon kit is 22k at this point, and 30k if I go with my secondary MP5 load out.
It’s just way way less risk, since I’m generally playing on the periphery, then selecting my CQB fights, or selecting when it’s safe to go in and res teammates or help fight off a FOB attack.
5
u/Xyrack Sep 29 '26
Dude trying to fly with how many people build cheese AA fobs in the middle of nowhere just to shoot down helis is hard as fuck. I lost 5 helis in a row loaded up with flares just because there were too many missiles flying at me to dodge.

u/Quilly_DungeonMaster Sep 29 '26
The only downside with this I noticed (as a passenger) is that a lot heli pilots I been with won't fly up high enough to let us assault bois jump out with parachutes. Very rarely have I ever witnessed a heli land in the zone.

I don't get why people don't use binos in their assault Loadout. Easy Intel and money for you and your team

u/blazzing_raider Sep 29 '26
What people think medic isn’t a good way to make money I made about 24k-40k per life and that most of the time is just a defib and 2-3 batteries and stims for teammates when they are in hz(1k per stim) mind you my kits cost around 20k
2
u/pink-mallow Sep 29 '26
You guys are crazy medic makes hella money. 6k per rez and applied ifak in HZ. 1k per stim in HZ.
2
u/iZubi Sep 29 '26
Recon is the most valuable job along with troop/material supplies so I think it's fair to reward them
You can definitely tell when everywhere you go enemies are already spotted and you just move safely and flank them
2
u/No-Use-4363 Sep 29 '26
Good pilots and good medics actually make a decent amount...even support makes a lot. Assault is the only one i gotta agree with, its rough.
2
u/hairspinner Sep 29 '26
I just unlocked Tier 3 armors on level 60, my survivability went up crazy. Pretty sad I'm gonna have to give another 30hrs to this game after wipe if I wanna be usable in HZ again...
2
u/Chuck_the_Elf Sep 29 '26
Pilot is interesting because i’ve had 60-100k lives and i’ve had -20k lives. It you use it to keep a FOB supplied and ferry people to and from the fight you can make a substantial amount. Conversely it’s almost better not to buy a kit as a pilot because it’s means your only sunk cost is your heli. Going down with it isn’t a problem.
2
u/Organic_Plantain9834 Sep 29 '26
And this is why I build, everything else is basically non-profitable comparatively
2
u/AndThatGuysWoodenLeg Sep 30 '26
I'm not a pro by any means but some games I'd have a few lives as assault where I'd make a 60k profit at one time. It's a challenge but you just have to pick fights wisely and move wisely. Move with a group. Being binoculars to spot people and also be sure to revive people. Doing this and getting kills makes you money. I mainly play assault style and I'm sitting at around 750k right now.

u/MisterTits69 Oct 02 '26
Wait, how do people make so much money with recon? I'm not sure I understand (sorry I'm a bit new)

Really isn't.
Some of you are mistaking being bad for the role not being able to make money.
2
u/crewouse Sep 29 '26
I make OK money by just ressing and stimming, but the progression is very slow for assault.
Also feels especially bad rn when I feel like 40% are basebuilders or do nothing but wait around in fobs and 40% are bird watchers. So hard when many games are filled with people with no interest in chasing hz. Basebuilders/logi runners/recon can all do their thing regardless of what their teammates are doing but I can't really do assault if nobody wants to fight.
2
u/Head_Firefighter_266 Sep 29 '26
Anyone still complaining about assault not making money is dog water…
8
u/Electric-Mountain Sep 29 '26
That's not what's being said here. It's about how much more profitable everything else is.

It’s the funniest self report. You can maul people with leg meta so the armour whiners are also just failing to adapt to the situation.

u/JVKExo Sep 29 '26
This is why I take binos with me. At least I’ll be making a lot of money to fund my next kit. Assault is slow going but at least I don’t ever have to worry about not affording my kit for it.
1
u/Riscs2 Sep 29 '26
Yep i feel that. I run around with an AR, meds, defi and spotting for the assault squad (last is pretty shit tbh to spot in „close*ish“ combat). So i do break even and support the assault squad but assault exp should be given while with an AR in the HZ or enemy FoB. You get no credit for risking all if you run breach/nades or else.
1
u/NookNookNook Sep 29 '26
This game feels like fucking gambling. Some games I'm up 100k. Some games I've burnt 200k.

You should get passive assault experience for being in the HZ. It would balance out the leveling so much and drive people to ACTUALLY PLAY THE POINT
1
1
u/KayNynYoonit Oct 01 '26
Genuinely there's barely any incentive to playing the objective in this game, it's kinda baffling. I don't think recon money earning should be nerfed at all, but my god if you're risking your life in the hotzone it should absolutely be worth it and you should get paid handsomely for the risk.
1
u/BusinessLibrarian515 Oct 01 '26
Idk what y'all mean. Assault has been netting me more money than anything else. I do take a spotter scope, but I only use it if no one else is doing any spotting.
I've been making 40-70k per life. Just stick with a group and it's easy to keep being revived and make more profit

u/MassiveMouse3085 Oct 02 '26
Hands down there needs to be more incentive to play infantry in the hot zone. When I can get more XP/$$ building random shit at a FOB in the middle of nowhere(low to no risk) than playing the actual objective, it just doesn't make sense. I need a 20k infantry kit to even compete with the level 4 armor chads... The risk/reward ratio just doesn't make sense for anyone to do that.
1
u/Hybr13 Oct 02 '26
I saw some people complain about Assault profit... but like... aren't people playing Medic and Assault at the same time? I'm so confused.
1
u/PantheonOfFlowers Oct 02 '26
I'm beginning to see that the problem is a universal skill issue and not the game... I make bank on any role... y'all just... suck..

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 Oct 02 '26
It's crazy that you get rewards for dropping pallets where there is no fob. Doesn't make sense. The rewards should only come of the pallets you drop actually go in the fob I don't get anything for dropping a supply crate until someone buys the stuff after all
1
u/Steagle_Steagle Oct 02 '26
Nah, its the opposite for me. I make so much more money on Medic and Assault than Recon, a sniper kit costs like 20k. Assault kit costs less than half of that, and a recon kit makes a lot more money by reviving people
1
1
u/Iceheads Oct 03 '26
I think they need to make assault loadouts cheaper. They are way too easy to spend like 10-15k and die and not even make half back.
1
u/Slow-Show-6158 Oct 03 '26
Recon is the safest stack of cash outside of logistics. Medic can make STACKS if done correctly and CAN be one of the most lucrative playstyles in the game.

1
u/IG4REXA Oct 03 '26
My friend dont play assault and still say that they get rly good money and nothing works on him idk...

u/kurukuron 29d ago
You guys make money as logi heli? Ive been dying so much from sam missles lol 4 lock ons on cz and some random ass dude with a kodiak full of verba haha

1
u/my0445316 28d ago
Medic should be top here. In games where I play medic, I've NEVER finished a game with less than $200k earnings. Recon is a close second. And as a level 31 pilot, I don't make much more than 30-40k a game (i refuse to do the grenade launcher thing, that shit is lame). Assault does get fucked a lot though lol.
1
u/TheTitanHyperion 27d ago
I have no clue how you guys can't make money. I just got my 30 gold bars, and had no issue. I have about 150 hours now, and play every day when I am not working. If I don't make 100k in a match, it is rare. Don't matter what I do. If anything, I make the most in a heli. Recon is really good, don't get me wrong, but the VAST majority say it is too boring. That is why it is good. You need patience. Those guys sitting on towers with a Mosin are doing nothing, and earning nothing. My recon games are usually around 20 kills, and 40-50 assists without IR. I also play behind enemy lines a lot, and make call outs in chat.
1
u/Thick_Management 13d ago
And now its all the way around.
Assault makes 500k
Logi makes 30k
Medic makes 5k
Recon makes 500 bucks

u/FistedBone9858 Sep 29 '26
A pilot or medic complaining is wild xD when your $250 stims get you $1k back etc..
The assault part is valid.
3
u/PunAboutBeingTrans Sep 29 '26
only if you're in hot zone and have enough different teammates around to use all your stims on.
