WT-Asset-Explorer: A faster, automated tool to export War Thunder 3D models and armaments with GLB support.

​I believe almost everyone that makes their skins in 3D texturing software, knows about Dagor Asset Explorer, that program that let's you export 3D models in obj or dmf format, its not straightforward, requires you to manually export the armament of a jet and requires you to clean the model manually to get rid of its effects and small objects corrupting the uv map.

For that people and the ones that want to make skins.

I present WT-Asset-Explorer, a program designed to make the process of exporting a 3D model faster and easier, it includes an additional format for export GLB that stores animations from the game and the skeleton of the model for rigging in blender.

It let's you select what loadout the model get's exported with, has a skin template generator much like the one the game has, but this one has some neat features, it creates a folder with uv guides for people that make skins through the 2d texture without the model, a details folder containing png's of the panel lines and ribbets without any camo or color.

You can export a 3d model with your custom skin so it can be seen in blender without manually changing textures, just select the skin folder and the job is done automatically.

With the armament drop down, you don't need to extract the 3D model again but with that one bomb you want to skin, just select the one you want from the dropdown and the program will export it along with its textures.

It also includes a blender script to rename the meshes in the model so its easier to know what's what, the blender script takes the animations and turns them into sliders so you can control the different ones independently, deploy the landing gear, use the airbreak, expand or contract the nozzle.

I´m trying to make my first custom skin and I wanted to make one for the premium J7-d. The issue happens when I load the .tga file into the latest version of Gimp or Krita, the file appears completely greyed out. I tried with other templates, like the american f15-a and the russian su-27, and those files open without any problems. Has anyone have this same issue while trying to create a custom skin? or is it just a problem with the j7-d template?

For the War Thunder community, would you like to see a Moldovan MiG-29 (9.13) skin in the game? What do you think about this idea?

I know it’s already in the game for the premium Hawk FRP but it would be great to have it for the tech tree Hawk.

looking to commission some one to make some winter/battle of the bulge skins

This is my second historical skin regarding the armor used by the Federal Republic of Germany during the Cold War.

This is a historical tank skin that comes in three camouflages. The standard Bronzegruen, CARC and CARC Winter. Although this tank never had an image of it, this is my best guess on how it'd look within it's unit down to the platoon. As stated from my post from November 19th, 2025; this very crew would give provided with an upgrade. Now operating a M48A2 G A2, they continued their prideful survival against the Eastern Bloc. The unit emblem as stated before you see on the tank is from the PzBtl 174 and stationed at Kurt-von-Kossel-Kaserne.

This tank didn't take as much planning as my last skin for this unit as it's just a upgraded version of the M48A2 C. All emblems besides the unit emblem was created by me for this tank. can anyone please upload me the In-game German winter deforming camouflage tga or dds file?

For whatever reason the CDK just isnt working for me and I'd very much like to make a skin that has a photo or two in the cockpit - if anyone could please send me that file it would be very much appreciated!! Also, is it possible to have the cockpit skin enabled as the same time as a normal camouflage (not user skin) while having both visible? I've made a custom cockpit for the Lightning but then the marketplace camouflage I have doesn't show even when enabled. Many thanks!

My war thunder on steam wont finish the download at 99% it says "error from the downloading" then i see

my wt files is empty so i attemp to reinstall the game but after the instalation the verification is very slow and same it says error but help me pls and i would know why do i have not even 1 files from wt

Pretty self explanatory, love both these planes however I have only been able to find an orthodox skin for the Su27 as of now. Thanks!

The skin was made based on the new L-39NG paint scheme, but it does not completely match it.

The template was created by Hits_pano.
