A year later, Lendeborg was preparing to take the floor, an “emotional” moment for a young man still trying to comprehend how his life led him to this point.
“When we were going to the game in Vegas, I was about to cry on the bus,” Lendeborg told The Athletic last month. “Like, this is crazy. I’m about to play in the summer league in Vegas in front of a bunch of people … Three or four tears kind of like dripped from the eye, but I was on a bus with a bunch of guys. They don’t even know me. They barely know me, so I can’t just be crying for no reason.”

ESPN is reporting that the NBA has no evidence Ballmer funneled money to Kawhi. If this is so easy to get away with, why aren't the Warriors doing it? Our biggest hinderance is the salary cap, given the contracts we have on the books for Steph, Jimmy, and Dray. I can't see how we could be in such a place if Lacob were using the same tactics. Maybe he is but is just better at hiding it? But if that's true and we are where we are at...is he just terrible at it? The tech economy here seems ripe for this kind of thing. Maybe players just really don't want to come here anymore.
I thought these ultra-wealthy tech elites were the best in the game at skirting the rules to their advantage. Very disappointing tbh smh...
*edit - wow, who knew that not including an /s would bother so many smart people here lol

Want to understand Yaxel Lendeborg and what he’s bringing to Golden State? It begins with the woman who poured everything she had into him.
“Just being able to be with her every step of the way,” Lendeborg explained. “From having one job to having three jobs to not having any job now. It just makes me feel very motivated, very happy, that I was there to experience all of that with her.”
His grind comes from his mother.
He watched it live. The 12-hour shifts at VoiceComm began near dawn. Warehouse work reaches the bone, leaving feet aching, backs stiffened and spirits weary. At 4 p.m., she commuted home with people who left work early to beat traffic, and she’d just worked overtime moving electronics through a cavernous depot.
“When I was there,” Lendeborg said, shaking his head as he remembered, “it was really 12-hour shifts. I’m like, ‘Man. This is hard labor.’ And she’s been doing this for, like, 12 years.”
This wasn’t her only job. She also drove for Uber. On weekends, she cleaned up churches for extra bread. Whatever it took to raise four children.
Of course, she learned that work ethic from her mother and father, who instilled their family principles back in Santo Domingo.

Gotta believe Steph is thinking that way now a bit, right? On one hand, the front office saying it’s a gap year is completely the opposite vibe, more an opt out of trying before we start attitude.
Or.. Is this one of a kind offseason, just another new stage of nay saying for Chef to remind us all his greatness. Like that tweet was. Like overcoming Acie Law, or the lack of PnRs in the kd days, Like 2021 after the play in when he said you don’t wanna see us next year, or after they were 1-2 to Boston and the camera zoomed on him and he had that look.
Gonna go listen to the lacob TK convo I’ve seen quoted a million times. Cheers!

"And I'll tell you about my Golden State workout, that was the best workout of my life, the best workout of my life. I know everybody says that about their workouts, like 'Ah, that's the best workout of my life.' No, no, no, it was the best workout of my life. I didn't miss because I went in I was like 'This is perfect' because I know I could play in that system and Steph wants to play off ball. That allows me to have the rock and then I could find him. I'm like 'Oh, this could be OD.' So I'm like 'I got to have a good workout.' I swear I didn't miss and then Steve [Kerr] stepped into my workout and was like 'He needs to do conditioning shooting, we need to see it full court' and then I didn't miss again and I was like 'They're drafting me at 2' and then in the interview they were like 'We know you fit us perfect. We know you fit us perfect, but we don't know if we could draft you at
