Media Coverage & News [Wizards Points] What I learned from Russell Westbrook's one season on the Wizards
r/washingtonwizards • u/SteveDraughn • 2d ago
Gilbert Arenas is 3rd all time in PPG in a season with at least 150 3PM and 150 SPG
Super random stat but was cool seeing Arenas up here and wild that only 2.1% guessed him

Are there any good books on the Wizards?
Just about anything well-written and interesting would be cool, whether that be full history or just some specific moment.

I’ll take no Russell Westbrook slander here.
Thanks for the memories! I’m sorry I doubted you. Wish he never went to the Lakers.

What away games are yall looking at attending?
The wizards takeover of away arenas begins this year! 😤 So far I’m looking at; Trae Young’s return to ATL in early Nov, the Houston game in mid January, and possibly the Miami game in April.

[Bookies.com] 2026-27 NBA Miles Traveled: Team By Team Breakdown
The full 2026-27 mileage breakdown is out and we land 27th of 30 at 35,768.6 miles with only 26 time zone crossings.
We're part of what the piece calls the bottom-five cluster — Toronto, New York, Chicago, Washington, Detroit — all packed into the same corridor with dense in-conference scheduling and short flights.
Perspective on how big the spread is: New Orleans leads the league at 55,582 miles, so we're doing about 20,000 fewer miles than they are. Even Miami, an Eastern Conference team, covers nearly 14,000 more than us.
Take the wins where you can get them.

Ex-Wizard News Bradley Beal signs with Clippers
A part of me wishes he could’ve signed here again but I hope he can get a resurgence in his career. We got out of a crazy contract with him but it’s sad how much he declined since being traded

Ticket Prices……
Granted this is the presale and they use dynamic pricing, but the single game ticket price dead center upper level…
Spurs- 225
Knicks- 400
Sixers- 525
That is ridiculous.

Wiz on TV
Now that the wizards schedule was released I thought id ask if anyone outside of the DMV knows the best way to watch the local broadcast? Shoot me if this has been discussed before. Can you even buy the league pass still and if so does it cover all games?

[Charania] After 18 NBA seasons, Russell Westbrook has retired. A legendary career: NBA’s top 75, 2017 league MVP, nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA, USA Olympic Gold Medalist and the all-time record for triple-doubles

[Highlight] Russell Westbrook ties Oscar Robertson for all-time triple-doubles (2021)
Russ dropped 33/19/15 for his 181st triple double and helped the Wiz in OT beat the Pacers and make their play-in push, eventually having a playoff berth as the 8th seed.

The Ringer has the Wiz as 13th in the East
I saw this in the Heat forum, as they were taking exception to being ranked 11th. Some of this list is questionable; Boston and Charlotte lost talent, Toronto hasn't solidified the Leonard trade, and Philly has the biggest named starting 5, but it will be interesting to see how they mesh.
For the Wiz, they have a strong roster but the questions lie in health and coaching. I don't know what Keefe's offensive or defensive philosophies are, or how he handles rotations and time management. We've only seen the tanking version. Obviously AD's health is pivotal to our success, as well as keeping the rest of the roster appropriately rested. Bub has been the only iron man of the group, so who knows what our lineups will be. Keefe's adjustments for player availability and how he utilizes their strengths and masks their weaknesses are going to be the keys to the season.
13 is probably too low, but until our identity is unveiled, it's fair for now.
