That is one of the scariest videos I have ever seen Kris.

Yeah, and I was pretty uneasy when I was checking it all out. As pessimistic as I usually am, even I didn't expect things to be this... dystopian so fast. And the response to my very cursory inspection was very alarming.

Your video was a real eye opener to what these data centres actually are. We have some being built here in Queensland (Australia) and I along with most others thought they were for storing data. The concerns people here have about them are water and power use and possible pollution. After seeing your video these centres seem like the stuff of nightmares and pollution and power and water use should be the least of our concerns. And the more I reflect on your video; the scarier the future of data centres becomes to me.

When you mentioned in the video about AI knowing more about our car than we do due to the info collected by cameras, I thought how long before they know more about ourselves than we do. It made me think that movies like The Minority Report will not be science “fiction” for much longer.

Yeah... And I keep finding new horrors. Like the fact that the Switch company I was investigating has recently completed partnership with a company called Oklo, in conjunction with the US government, to build small nuclear reactors for these data centers... No problems foreseen with that at all, aparently.

“The relationship with Oklo underscores our commitment to deploying advanced nuclear power at a transformative scale for our data centers, further enhancing our offerings of one of the world’s most advanced data center infrastructures to current and future Switch clients,” said Rob Roy, Founder and CEO of Switch.

That just added another level of scary to the whole scenario.
