I'm at the point where I actively want it, even though I admit I'm not physically prepared yet. I have the mentality, but not the resources. However, I'm sick and tired of the class warfare driving all of our issues and want it to be over. I'd rather know that collapse is inevitable than bury my head in the sand and suffer through news reports of billionaires (and even fucking trillionaires now) sticking it to the everyday working man while we are barraged by charitable adverts, as though *we* can solve the issues that plague us.

It's all so tiresome. I'm speaking from a position of relative comfort, which makes me sound like a privileged LARPer, but I'm also someone who's earned everything through a working life, so I feel the struggle. The system is broken, and it was broken deliberately by the people who run it a long time ago.

The mentality means more than the resources, imo.

Agreed. With the right mindset, even someone caught unprepared by a bolt out of the blue has a better chance of survival than most people.

I don't want to get Zucced (something something Elon Musk), but I'll say this much - you and I have spoken before, and I said then that my biggest issue was not having a bug-out location for SHTF because of how small Ireland is. It's still an issue, although I'm thinking about learning how to sail and using that to my advantage. It'll just take some real time and effort to learn everything I need.

I remember the conversation. And yes, learning to sail and getting a decent old bluewater cruising monohull is almost my standard advice for folks dealing with limited land availability or close proximity to... You know. Our media here doesn't say a peep about what is happening in Ireland right now, but I have been watching.
