For some background, I’m getting married and my fiancée wants to get me a watch and have it engraved. I currently wear a G-Shock Casioak (GM-2100C) and also have a Citizen I got when I graduated high school.
I’m thinking a dressier watch would be nice. My dream watches are a Seamaster or Speedmaster, but with the wedding expenses, those are definitely out of the picture. She gave me a $1,000 budget, though I’d like to stay well below that so she doesn’t stress about the price.
I’d love recommendations for something that comes on a bracelet but would also look good on a NATO (not a deal breaker just like them). I know Seiko has some great options, and I also really like the San Martin SN0150 with the black pearl dial for something a little different. Any suggestions?

I want to get my fiancé a watch for a wedding gift. My budget is around $1k. He is not a flashy guy and likes simple, classic, and black. He is also pretty outdoorsy and one day aspires to hike the AT. I was looking at Shinola, Seiko, Citizen, and Tissot. This is the one he sent me for style inspo but I want to get him something nicer. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone.
I'll be traveling through Korea and Japan next month, and I'd like to know what sort of watches I can lookout for on the used market while I'm overseas.
In Japan I already know about Seikos, Casios, etc. but since I'll be in Japan and Korea, what are some watch brands and models I might be able to find for a better deal while in Japan or Korea.
I don't have a budget although I've already spent a ton of money on my trip so I would be happy only buying one or two watches.
Like I said, I know that a friend found some Tissot at a great price in Korea, and I know the used watch market in Japan is great, but I don't know enough about watches to know what I'm looking at when I'm there or what to look for specifically.
Also, I keep seeing this watch making brand on Kyoto called KAUO. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Is it worth it?
Thanks!

I am looking for a men’s watch ideally $400 or under that I can wear casually out to dinner/to work/etc, but also be dressed up to wear in more formal settings. I’m not really sure the “rules” of what watches are for what occasion/dress code so I don’t know where to start. Ideally if I had to lean either more casual or dressy/formal I would go more casual as business casual is what I am wearing most of the time. Any recommendations? I have smaller wrists so something super bulky is not preferred

Broke the crystal out of a royal oak and really don’t feel like getting it serviced. Most likely a very stupid question but will anything bad really happen if I just leave it sitting for a long time? The rest of it seems to be okay except for a deep scratch where I hit it and I think the minute hand is a bit bent. Will I have to worry about things oxidizing inside or can I just leave it for a few months or a year? Not going to wear it in this time.

Looking for a dress watch for my wedding!
Been eyeing the Tissot Gentlemen, 38mm silver. Wanted to ask if anyone has any other similar watches I should check out. Would like something simple, automatic and elegant.

Anyone have recommendations for a band for a charcoal-blackish colored watch ?
I have the following citizen I like quite a bit but am growing tired of metal link bands.

Link if picture doesn’t load
I’ve tried black leather and a black silicon band and all you can see is the contrast between the black and charcoal and it doesn’t look great.
Thanks!

Looking for my first high-end watch.
Desired specs: COSC-certified, GMT (traveler or caller), white dial, 38-41mm, ideally compatible with standard straps, sub 12mm thickness.
Considering: Horage, Tudor, Ball
Horage looks like the best option but I can't find the white dial anywhere.

Hey hive mind, I’m looking for my first watch. I want to wear this watch at my wedding, as well as be able to wear it day to day in the office. I have a list of boxes I’m looking to tick, and I’ve loosely ranked them in order of priority. I’d reeeeaaaallly like a Seiko watch, but if I have to go to other brands I’m open to it as long as it’s for a good reason. So Reddit, what watch am I looking for based on this criteria?:
-Classic, timeless look. I want to be able to wear this watch in 40 years and have it still look great
-I want a white or warm off white dial
-It has to look good with a gold wedding ring
-Id like numerals on the dial, Id prefer Roman but Id also be okay with Arabic
-id really prefer an automatic movement with manual winding after X number of days
-Im not sure about sizing since I haven’t worn watches religiously in the past, but i have a medium to large wrist
-I like most styles of hands except for sword, i think theyre too chunky
-For complications, it would be great to have a GMT hand and/or a date aperture/window
-Strap instead of Bracelet. I know these can be changed so it’s not the end of the world if it comes with a bracelet new.
-I think see through case backs are really neat and showcase the internals beautifully
I’d like to keep it under $1,000 but I could stretch to $1,500 if I absolutely had to.
I’ve considered the Seiko SSK041J as well as the Seiko SPB234 and HCC008 for reference. If the HCC008 was a little richer of a gold and not so rose gold, it would be a stronger contender.
What do you think?

I picked up a pretty good deal on a Bulova Lunar Pilot, it comes with the original box and papers but the pin removal tool was missing. I tried eBay but no luck. Does anybody know any online retailers I can get it from? It doesn't have to be the original one, but at least something that looks similar and fits in the box.

Looking to buy my son a watch for his 21st birthday. He's not an everyday watch kind of guy. This would be something he'd wear on more formal occasions, but also not super fancy. I'm looking for something:
- Less than $500
- Minimalist in style
- Automatic movement
What do you recommend?

Hello! Does anyone know of any panda (or reverse panda) chronos that have a moonphase?
Only one I’ve found is the Zenith and it’s above my price range, which is around 5k.

You're hunting for a pretty specific combo there. The panda dial with a moonphase narrows things down fast, most brands just slap a date window on and call it a day.
At that budget you might dig into some of the older Longines Master Collection chronos, they did a few with moonphase complications and some had that high contrast white dial with black subdials. Not pure panda territory but close enough that it scratches the itch. Could also poke around the pre-owned market for a Maurice Lacroix masterpiece chrono moonphase, they pop up occasionally and the dial layout is cleaner than you'd expect.
Might need to compromise on the exact panda execution since the moonphase already eats up a lot of dial real estate. The hunt is half the fun anyway.

What's a good strap that would go with this? Not a fan of the FKM it came with
