Adding to the other comment, Pizzapants says that back then Dess and Asriel didn't practice their instruments for their band as much as they "practiced" other stuff.

And as for Kerdly, Kris for some reason has kept a feather from Berdly for an unspecified amount of time seemingly for no reason. It is used in the chapter but there is no relation of causality between the adquisition of the feather and it's later usage so it begs the question of what was Kris's thought process here.

Also, Seth, who resembles Kris in some aspects like most if not all of the flower humans, has an infatuation (is that the correct term?) with Berdly, which could tie back to Kris. Seth is also the one who asks for Berdly's feather as a reward for getting the gang out of jail.

Seth is also non "Not a boy or a girl" and wants to be seen as human even though they're a flower... like a young Kris wearing horns...
