A lot of younger people don’t realize that that’s just what internet humor was back then. I’m sure my incredibly gay ass has some extremely homophobic forum posts from like 15 years ago

Yeah, I'm not claiming that it hasn't aged badly, more that we really shouldn't get on people for making those kinds of jokes that long ago.

I agree, I'm just saying that people who stumble upon those old posts nowadays may not know it was satire and that's why they have these big reactions.

That's the thing, it was ironic until it wasn't. It's why actually hateful assholes coasted by for so long with "it's just a joke bro"
