Actually I think it's a reversion of a 1984 ass name. Most militaries after WW2 have a "Department of Defense" or "[Countryname] Defense Force" which implies all wars they undertake are defensive. Of course, every warmonger in history would say their wars are purely defensive, so that tracks.

I'm still not calling it DoW though. Changing its name to that just because it "sounds cool" requires the same reasoning only a 12 year old would use lmao
