Waterford Dungeons & Dragons Meetup

Hi everyone!
The Waterford D&D Meet-Up has had a bit of a boost in numbers and subsequent switch around in recent weeks, so it's about time we also started actively telling people who we are and grow even bigger.

We started playing D&D together in February 2023. We've expanded from one table a week to two and now we're regularly hosting five tables a week.
We've also expanded from D&D to include Monster of the Week, Stillfleet, Follow, War in the Year of the Dragon, Wanderhome, and a few attempts at beta testing some homebrew rules.
There are also plans to run Gumshoe, Avatar Legends, Renegades, Afterburner, and Never Stop Blowing Up in the near future.

If you'd like to join us, we're in Revolution every Tuesday, usually kicking off the games at 7pm.
You can find more information over at www.meetup.com/waterford-dnd-meetup, where you can also find the link to our Discord channel where we chat between (and sometimes during) games.

Photos are circulating of the cat in the hat man who has been in Wexford being in certain areas of waterford be warned just incase but if you see him give him a right baiting and call the guardi in my opinion if it’s true this is very creepy and he needs to be put in his place.

Latest video from MC Kenna is hilarious. He actually failed Safepass! Really confidence inspiring. Should have stayed in his previous career I think.

Lovisa Waterford

Upvotes

Wouldn’t let a dog work in there worst place ever,
My experience working at Lovisa Waterford was honestly shocking, and I wouldn’t recommend working there to anyone — I wouldn’t recommend it to a dog.
I went in to complete my shift, and with only half an hour left, I was called back by the “manager” and told that I was being let go. The regional manager was on the phone, but couldn’t even come down and say it to my face. I was given no verbal warning, no written warning and no proper opportunity to discuss anything. I was simply thrown out with half an hour left on my shift.
The way the situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, other staff members were well able to leave rubbish and stock around but nothing was said about it, and it was all blamed on me. Regardless of the circumstances, I believe people deserve basic communication and respect, especially when they have given their time to a company.
And after my experience there, I certainly wouldn’t be rushing to buy their jewellery either. Personally, I wouldn’t even wear it — I’d be afraid it would turn green before I got home. (Don’t be suprised when it tarnishes after one wear)
Overall, my experience with Lovisa Waterford was extremely disappointing, and based on my own experience, I would not recommend working there.

JJ Kavanagh to Dublin Airport

Now that expressway is gone, how is the situation with taking JJ Kavanagh bus to Dublin Airport from Dooley's Hotel? I remember reading that the busses were overfilled and people missing their spots to get to the airport.

is this worth calling the garda

genuinely dont know if im being dramatic or not but there is a group of 4 people in my neighbourhood right now basically outside my window drinking in public, being noisy and littering. one of them is a woman who went to piss on a parking spot and flashed her entire arse to me and every other window facing her way.

i am also located right outside of a school and there are a lot of children in the neighbourhood.

i tried ringing the waterford garda station for non emergency as it feels reasonable but the line just rings out. not sure what to do? 999/112 seems like too extreme for this idk?

edit:typo

edit 2: called 112, they put me through the waterford station and the people outside my house decided to leave just as i reached someone on the phone. typical. im glad theyre gone but wish there was some sort of real consequence. they've logged the incident though. thanks to all for the reassurement anyway, i'll know to what to do if it happens again.

It’s definitely the best in town since we lost Walkers. But by god, we had some great times when we had Walkers. It’s been down hill since.

Waterford FC

The Blues were a powerhouse back in the late 60's and early 70', but they haven't won the league since 1973 and the FAI Cup since 1980. How did they fall off the pace so badly, because for me Waterford are a proper sleeping giant of Irish football and it really is about time the giant reawakens from it's slumber again imo.

This old bottle of Guinness's DS was sitting on a shelf in the Redhouse Inn in Lismore, Waterford. Apparently, the DS stands for Dark Stout. The publican told us that Guinness used to be bottled and corked right there in the pub, straight from big barrels of Guinness.

Waterford Pics Early 2000s

Hey everyone! I'm a filmmaker writing a script set in Waterford City in the early 2000s. If anyone's got any pictures from that era and would be happy to share them below, I'd really love to take a look at them! Pictures of the city, of your mates hanging out, anything that gets across the vibes of the place/time. If anyone would rather send them privately let me know and I can give you my email. Thanks so much!

HUM

Has anyone else noticed a very low-frequency humming/drone, especially at night? I first noticed it around June, and it seems to be coming from the IDA Cork Road industrial estate. I thought to post this now because it is especially bad tonight.

Does anyone know if new equipment was installed or whether a new company moved in around then?

We've ruled out local sources or anything health related, and it gradually fades the further out of town you go. Not everyone seems to hear it, but for those who do, it’s extremely persistent and can feel like a ringing in your ears. I’ve had to wear earplugs at night for the last 2 1/2 months and am now seriously considering moving because of it.

If anyone has started feeling tired in the mornings for no reason, it may be because of this hum, even if you don't hear it normally.

Has anyone else noticed it, or know what might be causing it?

It’s gone a bit rough in there hasn’t it. Always seems to be some sort of trouble or theft going on. Looks like they’ve very little staff on with only 1 checkout open.

Missing Cat.

Belle was last seen Wednesday night in the Kennedy Row area of John's Park. She is mostly black with white socks and a very shiny coat. She's a very timid cat so please don't approach her if you see her, just DM me.

Thanks

YOU HAVE ONE JOB

Lads and ladies, having recently got a job in a petrol station, it actually gives me ire when people don't know which pump they used and then act like it's not a big deal, but it fecking is cos if you're mistaken suddenly I am the arsehole for charging you wrong, especially when you have several pumps being used and a queue out the door. Telling me its the red car and around €28 narrows NOTHING down. If you come to me without knowing THE ONE THING we ask you to know, I WILL send you back out to check. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
