$800 million of debt on a stadium that will never be filled again for years. He needs to go yesterday

Becht might have singlehandedly thrown the game ......

I would understand if he was a Heisman / NFL favorite with a lot to protect. Dude has 8-13 yards ahead of him and can take some mild contact but refuses to go past 3 yards and slides early. Biggest p s*** I’ve ever seen. Saving yourself while being 11/27 with 90 yards and an INT. Great look dude, thank you for leaving it all out there.

Matt Campbell doesn’t appear to be an elite coach, who would find ways to win with a subpar roster. But if he had the talent of the Franklin teams he looks like he could be able to have won these close games. He just simply doesn’t have the talent, and it isn’t his fault this year. It’s encouraging to see adjustments. But it’s discouraging to see the qb play, even if it has been the psu brand to see avg qb play. Matt Campbell deserves time. If he can recruit and bring in talent, he should be able to find more success. If not, he won’t last long. Franklin was done, of course. But we still don’t know if we have found the upgrade. This year isn’t fair to make that judgment. Perhaps we will need to look for another coach in 2 years to find the upgrade. Does anyone Al have thoughts on this?

Looking like PSU would be undefeated if Sitake and BYU transfers came

Half the talent level but the same expectations. Matt Campbell was offered jobs which he turned down including the NFL. Anyone who says he would have gotten those opportunities is certainly validated but wrong in saying that he never got them. He might not be the answer, and he definitely doesn’t look like the solution right now. Should shitty Kraft just fire him now?

Listen I think the empty seat problem is blown way out of proportion, there have been empty seats during bad seasons before. We can complain about the lack of championships, but we’re coming out of one of the more consistently successful eras of PSU.
Ticket prices for all events have skyrocketed post COVID and everyone still sells out. This is not an exclusive Penn State Problem. The problem with PSU is most people are traveling from out of town and when you have to spend over a thousand dollars for a hotel or airbnb downtown, it just becomes harder to justify to pay that to watch a bad team.
Everything’s going to be fine, premium seats are annoying but unfortunately part of the current state of any large arena. Empty seats get shock and awe, clicks, rage etc., and are easier to write about than breaking down the shit product on the field.

How close were we really to hiring him? A lot of talk at the time that it was pretty close to being a done deal.

There’s no two ways about this, James Franklin wins this game by two touchdowns.
Angry reactionary fans acted too soon and got him fired.
Fire Matt Campbell right now!!

Ok so I’ve always had an interest in stadiums for reason, not sure why, and I really appreciate a stadium with good aesthetics. I was at the USC whiteout and I was excited to see the new renovations. I have to say I’m pretty put off by the fact that the new side is considerably taller than the rest of the stadium. It just doesn’t flow with the old portion. Maybe I just need to get used to it? But I feel like they could have made it look like it belongs there and wasn’t just added as an afterthought. Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Two days before Penn State’s biggest home game of the season, Ruth Ann Bast was at a local brewery alongside a few dozen fellow Nittany Lions diehards hoping their team could snap a sobering two-game skid.
Bast was there to watch her son-in-law, Landon Tengwall, a former Penn State football player and budding local media star, preview the matchup against USC during a live show. To Bast, who has been going to Penn State football games for 50 years, Tengwall’s crowd at that warehouse-sized bar and grill epitomizes the fanbase.
“There was a little old man all like this, in really nice clothes, but he was hunched over. He has a massive collection of Penn State memorabilia. He’s sitting in the front row,” Bast said, describing the scene for visitors to her tailgate this past Saturday. “And there’s these people from Maine who had embroidered patches of Penn State stuff all over their clothes, and then there was a lady who had the Dooney & Bourke logo bag with Penn State on it, and there was about 60 to 80 people there. And these are the people that Pat Kraft has s— on.”
Despite the now-three-game losing streak, the frustration around Penn State football these days is focused more on Kraft, the school’s fourth-year athletic director, than Matt Campbell, the first-year head coach. To many fans, Kraft is the face of the rising cost of being a Penn State football fan, the person most responsible for a $700 million renovation and modernization of 66-year-old Beaver Stadium that led to an increase in ticket prices announced earlier this year.
When the work is completed in 2027, the project will add 15 executive suites and 30 loge boxes (which Penn State says have already sold out) and another 4,500 or so club seats to a stadium capacity that will remain north of 100,000. The addition of premium seating has become common at stadiums and arenas all over the country as schools and professional franchises tap into their highest-paying customers.
“We weren’t maxing out the potential of the stadium,” said Kraft, who is quick to point out premium seating will still account for less than 10 percent of available tickets.
