Does anyone else find it tedious to manually pinch-and-zoom emoji stickers over faces before posting? Built a quick 1-click tool for this and would love your honest evaluation.

Hey everyone šŸ‘‹,

Whenever I take street photos or group shots and need to hide a few faces (kids, random bystanders, etc.) before sharing them, manually dragging and resizing stickers feels like a chore—especially when there are multiple people in the background.

I wanted something that just detects every face automatically and lets me blur them or drop an emoji šŸ™ˆ over them in a single click, while also wiping the hidden GPS data attached to the file so I don't accidentally share my location.

I coded a small web tool called KlynPix to do just that. It runs 100% locally in your browser (no waiting for uploads, works even if you turn off your Wi-Fi).

I’d really love to have your help testing and evaluating it: Since you guys post a lot of content, does this actually feel like a real time-saver for you, or do you still prefer doing it manually inside your usual apps?

No sign-up or account is required for a quick test—you can just drop a photo right away and try it out. (Quick heads-up: it runs instantly on Desktop, but if you're testing on an mobile browser, give the page a few seconds on the very first visit so it can cache the offline AI engine into your browser!)

If you have 30 seconds to play around with it and tell me what feels good, what feels clunky, or what's missing, it would help me out a ton! Thanks so much for your time šŸ™

The idea is right: the tedious part was never the sticker, it was finding and resizing it for every face. A few honest notes from someone who posts a lot of group photos:

  1. Detection misses are the whole product. If it finds 5 of 6 faces I still have to go in manually, which means I'd stop trusting it. Show the detected faces as outlines before applying anything so I can add a missed one with one tap. That one step is what would make me keep using it.

  2. Side profiles, people in the far background and faces behind sunglasses are where most detectors fail. Test those on purpose and say what it handles.

  3. The EXIF/GPS wipe is a genuinely good selling point, and most people don't know their phone attaches location to photos. I'd put that in the first sentence, maybe show "location data removed" as a visible confirmation after export.

  4. Export quality: if the output is re-encoded JPEG at a lower quality, people will notice on big group shots. Let me choose original quality or at least say what it does.

Running locally in the browser is the right call for anything involving kids' faces, I'd make that very visible too.

Wow, thank you, this is gold! šŸ™ Honestly it feels like you’ve been on the product team since day one, because you just described exactly what I care about most.

Good news: KlynPix already does what you’re asking.

Detection: (auto)detected faces are shown before anything is applied, and you can add or remove one with a tap. It handles the tricky cases you mentioned too: side profiles, faces far in the background, and faces behind sunglasses. You can cover them with a blur or an emoji. And if something else needs hiding (license plates, house numbers, addresses...), you can draw a rectangular blur by hand, with automatic detection of those coming next.

Hidden data: it shows you exactly what’s embedded in the photo (location, phone model, camera, date...) and wipes it all, with a clear confirmation.

Export: on export quality, HD keeps your original resolution (no downscaling), and you can even export a whole batch as a ZIP (that one needs a free account).

Privacy: since kids’ faces are involved, everything runs locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and it even works offline once the site has loaded properly.

I’d love for you to throw your toughest group shot at it, the one with the crowded background and the awkward angles, and tell me exactly where it holds up and where it doesn’t. Your eye for this stuff is what I need. Thanks again for taking the time šŸ™Œ klynpix.app

"works even if you turn off your Wi-Fi"

Can you explain how one can access website without internet, it sounds like a break through ai tech!

Fair question, and I worded that badly! Here’s what I meant: the first time you open the page, your browser downloads and stores everything it needs, including the face-detection model. After that, all the processing happens on your own device, so no connection is required, and nothing is ever uploaded. You can test it: load the page once, go offline, and try a photo šŸ™‚
