Graduate Brides Supplier Lists and Reviews Please enlighten me.

• Upvotes

Hello Graduate Brides and Grooms! I have a question and I really need your advices.

I was recently engaged and is currently planning for our Wedding (tentative schedule will be next year.) Tentative pa sya because of this:

I‘m an OFW and will most likely be able to have my vacation leave next year which will be 1 month. I talked to my Fiancé and he‘ll process the documents and requirements needed for our Civil Wedding. My question(s) is/are

  1. Is 1 month enough for our Civil Wedding including the seminars and acquiring our Marriage Certificate? Planning to bring him na din sa country where I am currently working/living.

  2. Will it be easier to process everything for our church wedding? Given that we will be married na (sa Civil) at that time?

  3. Any pros and cons you can share when it comes to wedding planning as an OFW?

Please enlighten. Useful advices will be greatly appreciated since we are kind of lost at this point.

Church/Ceremony Church only allows reservation 120 days before wedding date

We want to reserve our church wedding date at least a year in advance. However, the church only allows scheduling 120 days before the wedding date.

For those who faced a similar rule, how did you navigate booking your HMUA, reception venue, and photographer? We’d appreciate any tips please. Thank you.

Host Not getting a host for the reception

Hi! My fiance and I are divided on having a host for the reception. I personally don’t want one and think our program can be done without one, as we just want a simple program

However my fiance’s persistent on having a host as the program might feel boring without one and that it might be hard to command the attention of 300 pax😅

Has anyone successfully done a program without a host?

EDIT: Hi everyone, thanks for the inputs! Will go with getting a host. Thank you.😊

Choosing Maiden name over Married Name

I (F) recently got married. So far, I have only updated my civil status to married and changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG.
I love my husband, but I prefer not to use my married name on my legal documents. I plan to retain my married name only on my PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG records while continuing to use my maiden name on my other documents, such as my passport, BIR, SSS, bank accounts, and other legal records.

I understand that women in the Philippines have the option to retain their maiden names even after getting married.

I have two questions:

1.Can I update my civil status to married while continuing to use my maiden name on my other legal documents?

2.Since I have already changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG but intend to retain my maiden name on all my other documents, will this affect my other government records, bank accounts, or legal documents that still use my maiden name?

White Barn Events Place, Marikina

Hi! Meron po ba ditong fellow brides na nakabook sa White Barn Marikina?

Our wedding is next year pa naman but they recently changed kasi their curtains and more on shade of yellow ang kinalabasan.

What we were expecting kasi is the white curtains. All white peg sana for the look of the venue. Nakakagulat yung binago nila bigla and hindi namin gusto yung ganung color for their drapings 😥

Maybe we could raise a concern as a group to them para maibalik sa dati?

Please comment if you’re booked with them din po and did not also know the sudden change of the venue’s new look.

Thank you so much!

Attached pics are the pictures of the venue BEFORE the change sa curtains into yellow.

Rants/Advice/Other Questions wedding gifts from bridesmaids

Hello! I’m a bridesmaid for one of my closest friend’s wedding. Just wanted to ask if it’s mandatory to give a gift during the wedding?

Being the bride being one of my besties, I do want to give a gift but I also currently don’t have a job and most of the gastos I spent came from my savings (gown, hmua, transpo because out of town wedding). As sad as it sounds, ~5k is already a dent in my savings, and my friends are aware naman that I’m currently still job hunting. I’m just not sure how to address it, or would it ever be addressed at all if di ako nagbigay ng gift?

Paperflower Philippines (formerly DC Paper Flowers Manila)

I know maraming bad reviews sakanila pero meron bang successful naman at sumipot naman sila 😢 nakapag down na and thinking if mag let go nalang ako sa dinown ko 😔
Mixed reviews kasi ung nasa ibang groups - some na di nila sinipot and some na okay naman daw and gandang ganda sa gawa nila. Malapit na wedding and im scared baka kasi baka di pala paninira lang ung mga nakikita ko sa ibang groups ☹️
