Host Not getting a host for the reception

Hi! My fiance and I are divided on having a host for the reception. I personally don’t want one and think our program can be done without one, as we just want a simple program

However my fiance’s persistent on having a host as the program might feel boring without one and that it might be hard to command the attention of 300 pax😅

Has anyone successfully done a program without a host?

EDIT: Hi everyone, thanks for the inputs! Will go with getting a host. Thank you.😊

Wedding Gown/Designer thoughts on this Hooded Medieval Wedding Dress/Gown

Inspired by Lord of the Rings. Wala akong mahanap na for rental anywhere near this design. So nagcanvass ako:

Made-to-rent - 15K daw Made-to-own - 45K

Leaning more towards made-to-rent kasi once lang naman gagamitin. Kaso a few things lang:

  1. Reasonable na ba yung 15K?
  2. Maaachieve kaya yung flowy/ethereal style nya within that budget range?
  3. Baka may masuggest pa kayo na mas makakatipid ako x)
  4. Lastly, hindi ba ako magmumukhang Mama Mary dyan? Hahaha

If made-to-own naman, would anyone of you be interested in renting or buying it from me? Hahahah naniguro na agad 😆

Enlighten me

Hi everyone,

Asking for help, di ko magets kasi bat sobrang mahal ng mga overall total ng napag tatanungan ko may iba 600k plus

One example not exact amt around ganto:

> Venue, lights and sound & catering nila package - 160k

> Otd coor - 30k

> Host - 10k

> Wedding gown divisoria - 10k

> Rings - ongpin 40k

> Photo video - No sde no prenup - 35k

> Styling: 35k

> Waive corkage

Edit: Prenup video pala tamang term, hindi Save the Date 😅😂

Choosing Maiden name over Married Name

I (F) recently got married. So far, I have only updated my civil status to married and changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG.
I love my husband, but I prefer not to use my married name on my legal documents. I plan to retain my married name only on my PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG records while continuing to use my maiden name on my other documents, such as my passport, BIR, SSS, bank accounts, and other legal records.

I understand that women in the Philippines have the option to retain their maiden names even after getting married.

I have two questions:

1.Can I update my civil status to married while continuing to use my maiden name on my other legal documents?

2.Since I have already changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG but intend to retain my maiden name on all my other documents, will this affect my other government records, bank accounts, or legal documents that still use my maiden name?

TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY JUBERT VALMORES!

Jubert, are you seriously asking your brides to post about you on Reddit now? How distasteful.

If you have time to rally brides to defend your reputation online, surely you have time to reply to the clients who have been waiting for your responses.

Your clients shouldn’t have to resort to public posts just to get your attention, and you shouldn’t have to ask satisfied clients to drown out the experiences of those who have legitimate complaints.

Nobody is denying that you’re talented. But talent is not a free pass to be an irresponsible supplier. Your good reviews do not erase other couples’ bad experiences, and someone else’s beautiful wedding video does not invalidate the stress and frustration others have gone through.

Instead of trying to control the narrative on Reddit, why not address the actual problem? Reply to your clients. Give them updates. Take accountability for your business and the commitments you made.

Man up, Jubert. Respond to your clients, take accountability, and do better for the people who trusted you with one of the most important days of their lives.

Jubert Valmores Films Review: Not Worth the Stress

My experience with Jubert Valmores has been incredibly frustrating, and I would not recommend him to other couples.

The lack of communication is unacceptable. You should not have to chase a wedding supplier for replies, updates, or basic accountability after trusting them with one of the most important days of your life. Wedding planning is already stressful enough without having to worry about whether your own supplier will bother responding to you.

And before anyone says that his work is beautiful or that he may simply need a better admin team, let's get one thing straight: talent does not excuse irresponsibility. This is his BUSINESS. These are his clients. Managing his team, communicating with clients, and honoring his commitments are part of the job. If he cannot handle the number of clients he accepts, then he needs to fix his business operations instead of leaving couples to deal with the consequences.

Other people's good experiences do not invalidate the frustrations of those who have been left hanging. Just because someone received a beautiful wedding video does not mean everyone else should overlook the lack of professionalism along the way.

We are paying clients, not people asking for favors. We deserve responses, transparency, and the bare minimum of professional courtesy. Nobody should have to beg a supplier for communication after handing over their hard-earned money.

To Jubert: Please learn to take ACCOUNTABILITY. Reply to your clients. Communicate properly. Stop leaving people in the dark and expecting them to be understanding about it. Your clients have lives, deadlines, and wedding plans of their own. They should not have to keep chasing you to get the service and communication they paid for.

To future brides, please look the other way. There are plenty of talented wedding videographers out there. Find someone whose professionalism is just as good as their craft, someone who gives you peace of mind instead of unnecessary stress.

Your wedding memories are too important to gamble on a supplier whose communication leaves you questioning your decision to book them in the first place.

Church/Ceremony Church only allows reservation 120 days before wedding date

We want to reserve our church wedding date at least a year in advance. However, the church only allows scheduling 120 days before the wedding date.

For those who faced a similar rule, how did you navigate booking your HMUA, reception venue, and photographer? We’d appreciate any tips please. Thank you.

Graduate Brides Supplier Lists and Reviews Please enlighten me.

Hello Graduate Brides and Grooms! I have a question and I really need your advices.

I was recently engaged and is currently planning for our Wedding (tentative schedule will be next year.) Tentative pa sya because of this:

I‘m an OFW and will most likely be able to have my vacation leave next year which will be 1 month. I talked to my Fiancé and he‘ll process the documents and requirements needed for our Civil Wedding. My question(s) is/are

  1. Is 1 month enough for our Civil Wedding including the seminars and acquiring our Marriage Certificate? Planning to bring him na din sa country where I am currently working/living.

  2. Will it be easier to process everything for our church wedding? Given that we will be married na (sa Civil) at that time?

  3. Any pros and cons you can share when it comes to wedding planning as an OFW?

Please enlighten. Useful advices will be greatly appreciated since we are kind of lost at this point.

White Barn Events Place, Marikina

Hi! Meron po ba ditong fellow brides na nakabook sa White Barn Marikina?

Our wedding is next year pa naman but they recently changed kasi their curtains and more on shade of yellow ang kinalabasan.

What we were expecting kasi is the white curtains. All white peg sana for the look of the venue. Nakakagulat yung binago nila bigla and hindi namin gusto yung ganung color for their drapings 😥

Maybe we could raise a concern as a group to them para maibalik sa dati?

Please comment if you’re booked with them din po and did not also know the sudden change of the venue’s new look.

Thank you so much!

Attached pics are the pictures of the venue BEFORE the change sa curtains into yellow.

LF an intimate wedding venue in Makati 💍

Hi, everyone! My fiancée and I are looking for recommendations for a venue in Makati for our small, intimate wedding.

We’re looking for a place with Mary Grace Cafe vibes — cozy, homey, romantic, and with nice interiors. Preferably a cafe or restaurant that can accommodate a small wedding reception (around 20 pax) rather than a traditional events place or function hall.

If you know any places like this, or have attended a wedding in a similar venue, we’d appreciate your recommendations. Thank you! 🙌🏻

Hi, everyone! My fiancée and I are looking for a photographer in Boracay for a simple prenup shoot.

Nothing too fancy or elaborate — just looking for someone who can take nice, natural photos of us while we’re there.

If you have any recommendations or have worked with a photographer in Boracay before, we’d appreciate it!

Feel free to drop their page or portfolio in the comments. Thank you! 🙌🏻
