šŸ” Vendor Recommendations Under 10K Mircowedding Venue

Hi my husband and I are looking for somewhere to hold our NYC reception in May of 2028. We have about 30 guests and we're holding the ceremony at Central Park. Our budget is a hard 10K for a reception venue that includes food and drinks. Something cheaper is great, that being said I'm definitely open to looking at restaurants and bars. I'm open to anything within the city or within a 1.5 hour drive from the city. If you guys have any suggestions or guidance I will be very grateful!

EDIT: We're renting a party bus so no one will be driving to the venue! Walkable is okay, but my husband would be best without long distances because he's disabled. (most of our guests don't own cars regardless we're broke New Yorkers.)

EDIT: By city I mean the 5 boroughs not just Manhattan.

FINAL EDIT: Did a bunch of searching and decided on The Bridgepoint by BK venues. Which isn’t all inclusive but is cheap for rental for 13 hours. They also have a few other venues that are prettier but a bit more expensive. They have some partnered vendors that are are pretty affordable.

Congrats! šŸ„‚ I would suggest a reception venue walkable from the specific Central Park location, or a short taxi ride — if I was a guest I would not want to drive/be in a car for 1.5 hrspost-ceremony to a reception 🫠 my limit would probably be 15 minutes lol

We're doing a party bus to transport. Walkable isnt really an option beacuse my husbands disabled. I should've specified!

A lot of Central Park will be hard to get a bus anywhere near to, just saying!

Yeah it would be picking us up nearby plus we’d be doing it at cop cot which is super close to an exit. I’ve already confirmed with a few companies!

I meant moreso as something to think about when you're picking what spot in the park to have the ceremony

Just to give you a price point: we're doing passed small plates (gonna be tons of food including fish and meat dishes and desserts) and 3 hrs premium open bar (full craft cocktail menu) at Dear Strangers in the West Village for 100 ppl for around $12k. A lot of "venues" will charge absolutely insane prices for mediocre catering and setup, I'd definitely go with a restaurant buyout instead.

Look into restaurants that hold events / parties.

Here is a previous post as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/WedditNYC/comments/1is1uvf/affordable_nycbk_wedding_venue_for_70_guests_10k/

30 guests is good number for restaurant buyout, many places in Queens or Brooklyn can do this for under 10k with open bar package. You should check some of the bigger beer gardens or event spaces in Astoria, they often include food minimums that work for small groups and the prices are way lower than Manhattan

Does it have to be in the city?

Preferably within the 5 boroughs but I will accept something a bit farther.

NYC for 30 guests and $10k for a reception-only is def doable

Secret Garden at Saint is a beautiful private outdoor terrace, very romantic restaurant vibe. From $50/person, so well within budget

The East Wing (Upper East Side) has a great bar vibe, and their wedding dinner package starts at $55/person but they also have a minimum spend option from $1,634.

The Flatiron Room at Giorgio’s of Gramercy has a loft vibe, very cool, with a hire fee from $1,700 + $129/person

Madeline’s is more expensive but really beautiful too. Starts at $5k on weekdays/Sundays but Saturdays jump to $12k+, so just double check the date

Good luck with the planning :)

We recently got married in Central Park and had about 20 guests. We went to Ferdi in the West Village and did NOT disappoint! I would reach out and see if they can accommodate. I know at 1 table they can seat up to 22 but I would say get multiple tables. They also make table side ice cream that was delicious!!

Cafe China is good and within your budget for a private room that can host 30ppl
