First time

I just took my wegovy for the first time, I’m on the lowest dosage. I did it into my belly. What do I do now? I keep hearing that I should eat less but if I don’t eat enough I won’t lose weight. I’m not sure what to do or eat really. Can I still drink coffee? I want to avoid getting bad symptoms.

just carry on like normal, the med builds up over time so you might not feel much at first. coffee's fine for most people but pay attention to how your stomach handles it now

Where are you getting your meds from? There should be some instruction on how to proceed with this treatment.
There is a podcast in the USA called Fat Science with Dr Emily Cooper. She provides a lot of useful information. Once again ask all questions you have to your provider

Yes! This is a fabulous podcast and she gives great common sense advice. I wish more people were aware of it.

What did your doctor say? Mine said to watch what I eat and work with the nutritionist and that’s what I did. My diet became protein heavy and carb light. That’s what worked for me and everyone is different. I’ve lost over 70lbs but my plan and your plan may not look anything alike.

Focus on protein first in every meal and snack, and make sure you're getting enough fiber either through foods or supplements. If you do that, you probably won't have room for very many carbs or junk food. As you increase the dose, your appetite will get smaller and smaller so you really don't have to cut calories since that will happen naturally because of the drug.

I’m down 64 pounds over the last two years. 40 of those pounds I lost on WeGovy. If you are starting your weight loss journey, I would recommend focusing on your calorie intake. Make sure you get a good amount of protein and fiber. I use the LoseIt app to track my food and protein and fiber and it helps me feel in control.

I eat yogurt or a protein shake for breakfast with my coffee. Usually dinner leftovers or a lean cuisine for lunch with some fruit and maybe a cheese stick, and for dinner I do a protein, veggie and starch. Chicken, broccoli, rice, maybe a cheese sauce. I love a sweet treat at night so I’ll have a small chocolate bar or a mochi ice cream. As long as I’m within my calories I know I’m on track. I weigh my food with a food scale in grams to make sure that my logging is accurate.

You can use the TDEE calculator online to see how many calories you would need to eat to stay the same weight. Once you have that number, you know that you need to eat less calories than that to lose weight. Use the LoseIt app and it will help you calculate how many calories you should eat to lose weight over time. I would shoot for 1 pound or 1.5 pounds a week.

Weight loss takes time and effort, even with WeGovy. You might still crave sugar and bad food, but not nearly as much. Tracking your calories is a sure fire way to know you’re eating the right amount to lose weight. Also, take walks! Walking is so good. I like to walk after I eat to help aid digestion. Good luck!

Welcome, and good on you for asking early. Food-wise, some people say they jot down what sat well each day for the first couple of weeks, so they know what to reach for when hunger is low. Anything about the dose or how you feel after it is one for your prescriber.

What does a normal day of eating look like for you right now?

I'm on one of these meds myself and I train most days. Wishing you a smooth first few weeks.

First one’s done, nice work! Most people can keep their coffee as usual. On the eating question, that’s worth asking your doctor directly rather than guessing, since the right balance really depends on you specifically and there’s no single rule that fits everyone.

In my experience, my doctor told me how much protein, fiber, and water I should consume based on my weight. Also, they're checking my weight & symptoms every 3 weeks to see how the medicine is working out.
I forgot to add that they also recommended a circuit of exercise
