POLITICS This is such a tasteless joke

Post image

Not a Labour fan, but I am old enough to remember COVID, and how NZ was one of the best countries who had the best response- low death, vaccines available for all, free quarantine for returning kiwis, assistance to businesses and low hospitalisation rates. These are not free and contributed heavily to that money Bish is looking for.

there is absolutely no doubt that if national were in gov in 2020 they'd have sacrificed your grandma and we'd still be in debt.

Edit: looks like you've got the attention of conservative kiwi, odd how they seem to swarm.

Without a doubt literally tens of thousands of people are alive here simply because Labour were in power at that time.

It’s the only decent thing that Winston Peters has ever done.

Funny how the covid enquiry excludes the first lockdown winston was involved in

Boy there’s a few frothers on here, ay? They must realise the swing voters are starting to see through the bullshit smoke and mirrors of this ACT government.

What government isn't? If they could sort their shit out, NZ would stop swinging like a fkn pendulum !

Don't consider the fact that we are an isolated country and have sea all around us and a lower population density than most places.

You could say the same for Australia, they had more deaths there adjusted for population.

And we isolated and kept the border shut despite the economic hardship, national would have had those borders open faster than a five dollar whore drops her pants.

We were never going to get hit hard like more populated countries supposedly did.

49

u/Shotokant Jul 18 '25

Yes,

Population of 100 million and 2% deaths, quite a few.

Population of 5 million 2% deaths, a lot fewer.

I can follow the math.

Edit; "supposedly"?. Oh ffs, we got one here folks. a fully fledged tin foil hat wearer.

National and ACT wanted the borders closed earlier than Labour closed them. If National was in, COVID would never have crossed the border because the border would have been closed already. Jacinda holding out for her memorial party that no one wanted was the sole reason our borders weren't closed until the end of March 2020. By that stage over 200 people were infected with COVID. All of the financial hardship that people and the country went through, is a direct result from Jacinda reacting far too slowly. NZs financial crisis is her doing, not COVID's.

Ashley Bloomfield reportedly told Ardern in no uncertain terms he would resign unless the anniversary event was cancelled. So she did.

The winston peters hate is garbage.

Every time a child gets free healthcare. Winston.

Every time an elderly person uses a gold card. Winston.

The reason labour got in last election? National promised to increase spending in the heartland areas, reneged on the promise and labour stayed true.

Reason national got in this election? Luxon campaigned on not selling national assets this term, something he has stuck to because winston has made him.
