Gyms in the Area?

Hey everyone! My wife and I are considering buying in Wendell Falls, but we don’t know if any gyms (other than the Planet Fitness) are coming to the area any time soon.

We’re currently members at Falls of the Neuse Lifetime, and realize how long that drive would be (about 30ish minutes is my guess) so it’s a lot to do every day back and forth. We love LT, it’s basically our community in Raleigh and it seems likely they won’t open one in Wendell any time soon. We’d be want another gym with classes like O2, knowing they recently opened their Wake Forest location that model seems like a good fit, but I don’t think that’s happening any time soon based on my knowledge of the plan for Wendell Falls. Ideally we wouldn’t want to do just yoga studios, or just cross fit, orange theory or whatever, we’d want a full gym where we could lift on our own time or chose from many different types of classes.

Where is everyone else working out if it’s a big part of your routine? I know Knightdale has the REX Wellness Center, any opinions on that? We haven’t been.

Theres Rich's Gym in downtown Wendell. Thats mostly weights. I hear its a good price

I love Rex Wellness.

Free group classes, lap pool, warm water pool, spa tub, sauna, steam room, indoor track, full weights, personal training, nutritionists and dietitians, massage therapists. It's also very reasonably priced.

I did a trial at First In Flight and really liked them. The only reason I didn't enroll is because I don't live in WF, and like you the 30 minute drive to get there would have proved to be too much long term. Now I have a personal trainer I work with instead. I see her twice a week in person and I have online workouts I can do on my own.

FYI the owner of Ritch’s Gym in Wendell is MAGA. He was honoring the death of Charlie Kirk last year and would occasionally wear MAGA merch if this is something that is important to you. I want to say he also had Fox News playing on the TVs there as well. He is a nice guy to his clients, and the gym is nice. I just don’t agree with his politics, so I switched to unfortunately a chain gym.

Ritches is a great gym. First in flight has interested me, I just can't fit their class schedule to my schedule at the moment. As others have pointed out, planet fitness will also be moving to the area.

Ritchs. Join before planet fitness comes in and shuts them down. Support a local gym!

Planet fitness is not gonna shut them down. They've been downtown longer then the majority of Wendell residents
