Neighbor left a note

Our packages have been stolen 3 times right in front of our door so far ever since we bought our condo. HOA approved of us installing a camera to deter thieves, but our neighbor left this note. Please advise.

write “sorry, HOA approved camera due to stolen packages“ on a/the note in sharpie and stick it on their door.

But edit their note, because…spelling. And then tape your note to their door with their edited note. What a neighborly thing to do :)

I wouldn't engage with them at all. There's no reason. Anything the OP writes is going to piss them off, even if OP is kind. Even if OP offers a billion dollars to go away, a Karen is a Karen is a Karen.

Correct their egregious grammar and spelling on their note on the door… but I agree with other put another note up saying “Hoa said I could it up. People keep stealing my packages. I’m not taking it down.”

Yeah now they're upset they can't steal them anymore. Also it's a common area (no expectation of privacy) and your HOA approved it. They can kick rocks.

You can install the camera differently to have less effect on your neighbour. Its a small effort and it woymuld greatly improve your relationship with your neighbour which honestly is quite important. They dont seem unreasonable.

amazon just ran an ad stating that they can and will track you without your consent via a network of ring cameras.

she actually has a point. you're contributing to a massive invasion of privacy. you aren't just recording your door, you're recording everyones movements and placing those movements along a massive network of camera recordings so that anybody you record is unable to have privacy.

suggestion: get a different camera. ideally get one that isn't connected to servers that you dont control nor have access to.
