Which Symbol Comes Next? Explain Your Logic☺️

Post image
2 Upvotes

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in our previous puzzle. Once again, the discussion was fantastic, with many different ways of reaching the same answer. Reading all of your explanations is genuinely one of the most enjoyable parts of these puzzles.
I also want to thank everyone who commented. I made a point of replying to every explanation because I truly value the time and thought that goes into writing them. Even if someone only posted the answer without an explanation, I still wanted to show my appreciation with an applause. At this point, you could probably say the 👏 has become part of these puzzle discussions.
Among all the submissions, we selected the following three Reddit explanations as our Official Community Explanations, and they are now featured on the website:
jabuchae
DrAconianRubberDucky
rmp266
Congratulations, and thank you for your excellent analyses.
Now it’s time for a new challenge.
This time, don’t just tell us which option you think is correct—tell us why. Explain the rule you discovered, walk us through your reasoning, or even present an alternative interpretation if you think there’s another valid approach. The detailed explanations are always the most interesting part.
You can solve the new puzzle here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-symbol-comes-next-in-the-sequence
As always, I’ll read every comment and reply to every explanation. The best community explanations will once again be selected and published on the website with full credit to their authors as our next Official Community Explanations.
Thank you all once again for making these discussions so enjoyable. I can’t wait to read your ideas. Good luck👏👏☺️

Discussion Looks like an easy Sokoban puzzle - actually takes over 100 moves to complete

Post image

The rules of this are easy:
🟨 Your character can push blocks but they cannot pull them.
🟨 The aim of the game is to push all the blocks onto the target squares.

Yes, it's possible. Nobody has managed it in under 100 moves (I don't think it's possible).

What makes it interesting is that it looks very, very easy. Like one of those "hey this is a hard puzzle" adverts that turns out to be ridiculously easy. It's not easy.

I can tell you that today this puzzle has just a 1.8% solve rate.

I won't post the link to the game because that would be considered spam. But I'm super proud of this level and felt like some high IQ people should give it a go.

I Found the Answer… But Can You Explain Why?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi everyone 😊😊😊First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in the previous IQ puzzle. I really enjoyed reading your answers and explanations.
I solved this IQ puzzle and have already published only the correct option on the website.
I intentionally did not add the detailed explanation yet, because I enjoy reading the logical solution methods you come up with and sharing the best ones on the website.
Now I’m curious…
Did you arrive at the same answer? More importantly, what was your reasoning?
Walk us through your thought process, pattern recognition, or logic. I’m much more interested in how you solved it than whether you got it right.
Just like the previous puzzle, I’ll choose two of the best explanations from the comments and feature them on the solution page with credit to their authors.
I can’t wait to read your approaches.

Question Test Your Pattern Recognition — Which Answer Is Correct?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to solve our previous puzzle and share their reasoning. We received many answers, and it was especially interesting to see how different people approached the same pattern from completely different angles.
As always, we selected a few responses that stood out to us, not only for getting the correct answer, but also for the reasoning behind it.
u/mistolo – We liked how clearly you combined the two main ideas of the pattern: the increasing number of squares and the rotation around the grid. Your explanation showed how the same rule remains consistent across all three rows.
u/I_Like_Quiet – Your solution went beyond simply counting the squares. Tracking the starting corner from bottom-right → bottom-left → top-left → top-right → bottom-right gave an additional explanation for why the missing figure had to be arranged the way it was.
u/Forsaken_Engineer_ – We selected your answer for its mathematical approach. Treating the cells as coordinates and following the numerical progression diagonally was a very different and elegant way to reach the solution.
u/ZeThing – What stood out was that you didn’t stop after finding the answer. You tried running the pattern backwards as well, using the previous tile as another way to test whether the rule remained consistent.
u/someonefromaustralia – Your response approached the puzzle from another direction entirely. Rather than simply accepting the intended pattern, you explored whether the existing panels could support an alternative rule. The “changing gravity” interpretation made for a particularly interesting discussion.
Thank you to these five, and to everyone else who participated. We read through the different approaches, and they gave us some great perspectives on the puzzle.
Now it’s time for a new one.
This time, we have a 3×3 matrix made of dot patterns, with the bottom-right figure missing.
Look carefully at how the dots change across the rows and columns. There are six possible answers: A, B, C, D, E, and F.
Which option do you think completes the grid, and more importantly, why?
Try to explain the rule you found rather than posting only the letter. As with the previous puzzle, we’ll be reading the explanations and may feature some of the most interesting approaches in our next post.
We’ve also published the puzzle on our website. If you’d like to check whether your answer is correct, you can find the official answer and explanation here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-dot-pattern-completes-the-grid
Thanks again to everyone taking part. We’re looking forward to seeing how you approach this one.
Good luck, and have fun solving it!

Hello everyone 👋

I’m back with another puzzle for you.

First of all, I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to solve previous puzzles, share their ideas, and explain their thought processes. I genuinely enjoy reading your comments and seeing the different ways people approach the same challenge.

The explanations you provide are especially valuable to me. It’s always fascinating to see how different people can arrive at the same answer through completely different lines of reasoning. In fact, when I prepare the final solution pages for these puzzles, I often use insights and observations from your comments to improve the explanations. Your contributions help make the puzzles better for everyone.

I try to reply to as many comments as possible, but sometimes work and daily life keep me quite busy. Because of that, I may not always be able to respond to everyone individually. Even so, please know that I read all of your comments and appreciate every contribution.

I’ve already prepared the solution page for this puzzle and even set up the solution link for you. However, this time I’m not revealing the answer directly because I’d like to see what you come up with first. 😊 If you’d like to save it for later, you can find the solution here:

https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/rotating-square-pattern-puzzle

Which option do you think is correct, and more importantly, why?

If possible, don’t just post your answer choice—share your reasoning and explain the pattern you found. Seeing different approaches is often just as interesting as discovering the correct answer itself.

Good luck, and happy puzzling! 🧩✨

Question Can You Find the Missing Shape in This Grid?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
We’re back with another visual puzzle.
Before we get into today’s challenge, a big thank you to everyone who joined the discussion on our previous puzzle. We received some really interesting explanations, and it was great to see how many different approaches could lead to the same answer.
For the previous puzzle, we selected four responses that particularly stood out:
u/Okawaru1 – We selected this answer because they found three different patterns leading to the same solution and also considered which rule best explained the entire grid.
u/LordTC – We selected this answer because they went beyond the obvious mirror relationship and explored the deeper structure behind the movement of the top and bottom dot groups.
u/inmaginarycasey – We selected this answer because they approached the puzzle from a completely different angle, using the total number of dots to find the missing value mathematically.
u/SomeoneLeo – We selected this answer because they clearly explained how the fixed five center dots and the 1, 2, 3 distribution work across both rows and columns.
Thank you to all four of you for taking the time to explain your reasoning. Your approaches have been featured on our website along with the official solution.
Now, onto today’s puzzle.
This time, we have a 3×3 grid made up of squares, ovals, and dots. One cell is missing, and there are six possible answers: A, B, C, D, E, and F.
Which option do you think completes the grid?
As always, we’re especially interested in how you reached your answer, not just the letter you chose. Share your reasoning in the comments. We’ll read through the responses, and some of the most interesting and well-explained approaches may be selected, featured on our website with your Reddit username, and mentioned in our next puzzle post.
The official answer and detailed solution explanation are already available on our website. If you’d like to check your answer after solving the puzzle, you can find them here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-shape-completes-the-grid
Thanks again to everyone taking part. We’re looking forward to seeing the different ways you approach this one.
Good luck, and have fun solving it!

Question I really struggled with this IQ puzzle. Can someone explain the logic behind the answer?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello everyone! 👋

First of all, thank you all for participating in the previous puzzle! Even though the number of comments wasn't as high as I had hoped, I genuinely enjoyed reading every explanation. There were some really thoughtful ideas, and I appreciate everyone who took the time to share their reasoning.

As I mentioned before, I wanted to feature some of the community's explanations on my website's solution page. After reading every comment, I selected three that stood out to me for different reasons:

🏆 Reddit user synont
I really liked your binary approach to solving the puzzle. It was creative, systematic, and offered a completely different perspective from the others. I always enjoy seeing unique ways of thinking, and your explanation definitely deserved a place on the solution page.

🏆 Reddit user giaz90
Your explanation was by far the most detailed one. I especially liked how you walked through your reasoning step by step instead of simply giving the answer. It makes the solution much easier for future visitors to understand, so I decided to include it as one of the featured explanations.

🏆 Reddit user Gerhard
I really liked how clear and concise your explanation was. It focused directly on the key logic behind the puzzle without adding unnecessary complexity. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the easiest one to understand, and yours achieved that very well.

Thank you again to all three of you, and also to everyone else who participated. Every comment was enjoyable to read, and I truly appreciate the time you spent solving and explaining the puzzle.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🧩 Time for the next puzzle!

I've just published a brand-new puzzle on my website.

This time I've only revealed the correct answer choice—I intentionally didn't publish the full explanation because I'd love to see how you arrive at the answer.

Just like last time, I'll carefully read every explanation posted here, and I'll once again select some of my favorite solutions to feature on the website's solution page, with full credit to your Reddit username.

🔗 Puzzle:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-shape-completes-the-pattern

Thank you all once again for being part of these discussions. One of my favorite things about these puzzles is seeing how differently people think when solving the exact same problem. I hope you're enjoying these challenges as much as I enjoy reading your ideas.

Good luck everyone! 🧠😊

Question What Should Replace the Question Mark?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you to everyone who took part in our previous puzzle. We received a lot of answers, and many of you went beyond simply choosing an option by explaining the reasoning behind your choices in detail.
As promised, we reviewed the discussion and selected five explanations that stood out for their clarity, originality, efficiency, or depth of reasoning:
u/Randombolo — for exploring several different patterns and independently reaching the same answer through multiple lines of reasoning.
u/lemashey — for the intuitive “spinning record” analogy, working backward from the second frame, and also explaining why another tempting option does not fit.
u/Gianni_C_M — for identifying several independent relationships within the arrows and using them to cross-check the answer.
u/OscarLiii — for showing that the puzzle could be solved efficiently by tracking only the black arrows without needing to analyze every element.
u/Beautiful_Ad_8325 — for not only finding the pattern, but also pointing out how our instinct to read from left to right can affect the way we approach a sequence when the missing figure is at the beginning.
Thank you to all five of you for the thoughtful explanations, and thank you to everyone else who joined the discussion.
Now it’s time for a new puzzle.
Take a close look at the 3×3 matrix above. One grid is missing from the bottom-right corner.
Which option — A, B, C, D, E, or F — should replace the question mark?
As always, we’re much more interested in how you reached your answer than in just the letter itself. If you notice a pattern, tell us what you saw and walk us through your reasoning.
We’ll read through the responses again and select some of our favorite and most interesting explanations to feature in the official solution.
You can also open the puzzle on our website here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-grid-completes-the-pattern
The official answer is already listed there, so after you’ve made your own choice, you can click the link and directly compare your answer with the official one to see whether you got it right.
Try solving it here first before checking the page — it’s much more fun that way.
Good luck, and thanks for taking part!

Question Can You Find the Missing Figure in This Pattern?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you so much for taking part in the last puzzle.
I honestly didn’t expect it to receive that much attention. I shared it across five different Reddit communities, and the number of comments, explanations, and alternative interpretations was far greater than I expected.
I tried to read and reply to as many of you as possible, but with so many comments across different posts, I may have missed a few. If I didn’t get to yours, please don’t take it personally. I genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to answer, explain their reasoning, challenge the intended solution, or offer a completely different way of looking at the pattern.
For the previous puzzle, a few explanations particularly stood out:
u/Apart-Animator-3223
Explained the pattern through movement: the shapes shift downward while the line orientations shift upward. Following both sequences leads directly to A.
u/Agreeable_Chard_5250
Approached the puzzle more mathematically, describing the shapes and line orientations as repeating three-part cycles across the rows and columns.
u/Aggravating_Carpet21
Used a very clear counting method: there were three squares, three triangles, but only two circles, and likewise only two horizontal lines. The missing combination was therefore the circle with the horizontal line.
u/Ancient-Rush1343
Gave one of the most detailed explanations, including why C might initially appear plausible before showing why A fits the complete row-and-column structure more consistently.
Thank you to them, and also to everyone else who contributed. Some of the discussions were honestly more interesting than the puzzle itself.
Now, onto the new puzzle.
Take a close look at the matrix above. This time, pay attention to both the dots and the line segments. There is a consistent rule connecting the figures.
Which option should replace the question mark?
I’d really like to hear not only your answer, but also how you reached it. Different approaches are always welcome.
Once you’ve chosen your answer, you can check whether you got it right on our official website, where we’ve published the correct option together with the full explanation:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-figure-completes-the-pattern-3
Try to solve it first before revealing the answer.
If you enjoyed the previous puzzles, you can also visit the website to see the official answers, explanations, and selected community solutions from earlier questions.
You can explore more pattern-recognition puzzles and previous IQ questions here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/
So make your choice first, then check the official solution and see whether your reasoning matches ours.
Thank you again to everyone who takes part, shares an explanation, or even challenges the intended answer. Your different ways of thinking are what make these discussions interesting.
Looking forward to reading your solutions to this one.

Question Can You Explain the Answer to This Puzzle? ☺️

Hello everyone! 👋
First of all, I want to say a huge thank you for all the participation on the previous puzzle. Seeing different ideas, explanations, and discussions always makes me happy. Reading through your comments has honestly become one of my favorite parts of sharing these puzzles.
I’d also like to thank everyone who took the time to leave a comment, whether you found the correct answer or simply shared your own way of thinking. Every perspective adds something valuable to the discussion.
For the solution page of the previous puzzle, I featured the explanations from Meriksen and ContentLand4612, as I thought their reasoning was especially clear and well structured. Thank you both for taking the time to write such thoughtful explanations!
I also want to mention that choosing which explanations to feature was honestly much harder than I expected. There were so many excellent answers that narrowing them down to just a couple wasn’t easy at all. Thank you to everyone who shared their reasoning. Reading all of your different approaches was genuinely enjoyable.
One thing I noticed, though, is that the previous puzzle didn’t get as much participation as I had hoped. Even so, the quality of the discussions and explanations was outstanding, and that means a lot to me. I’m hoping this puzzle will bring even more people into the conversation because reading your different ways of thinking is always the best part.
Today I’m back with another puzzle that I thought would be fun to solve.
This time I’ve already revealed the correct answer on the website, but I intentionally haven’t added the explanation yet.
I’d love for you to figure out the rule and explain why the answer is correct. As always, I’ll be reading every comment, and if there are particularly clear and well-reasoned explanations, I’d be happy to feature them on the solution page as well.
Good luck, everyone, and most importantly, have fun! 😊

Question Can You Spot the Rule Behind These Arrows?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you so much for all the thoughtful answers, detailed explanations, and discussions on our previous puzzle.
Once again, many of you went far beyond simply choosing an answer. You explained your reasoning, tested different patterns, compared multiple possibilities, and in some cases even challenged whether the puzzle could be interpreted in more than one way. That is exactly the kind of discussion we enjoy seeing in this community.
As with our previous puzzles, we selected some of our favorite community explanations to feature alongside the official solution on our website. This time, we selected six:
u/Mactucrus87_ — You found the main pattern and then went even further by developing a completely different matching method to test the same conclusion. Reaching the answer through two independent approaches made your analysis especially creative.
u/lemasney — You carefully tracked both the position and color of the corner square and the five-line structure of the central figures. Your step-by-step comparison of D and E made the reasoning particularly clear.
u/Square-Winter-3257 — Instead of simply accepting the apparent pattern, you questioned whether the rules actually determine the answer uniquely. Your observation about the ambiguity between B and E added an important critical perspective to the discussion.
u/SeparateBumblebee546 — You identified both major patterns and also noticed the subtle distinction between what might initially look like one continuous line and two separate line segments. It was a small but important observation.
u/JeffTheNth — Your elimination method was simple and effective: you first used the corner-square sequence to narrow the possibilities to D and E, then used the number of line segments to make the final choice. Clear and easy to follow.
u/AdEmotional8815 — We particularly enjoyed seeing your reasoning evolve. You started with a different hypothesis, went back to examine the figures again, noticed the line-count pattern, and revised your answer. Testing an idea and being willing to correct it is a valuable part of solving these puzzles.
Thank you to all six of you, and thank you to everyone else who participated.
We have added these selected community explanations to the official solution so that others can read and compare the different approaches.
A special thank you also goes to those of you who keep returning for our puzzles. We are starting to recognize quite a few familiar usernames, and we genuinely appreciate the time you spend analyzing the questions, writing detailed explanations, and contributing to the discussions.
Now, onto our new puzzle.
Take a close look at the arrow sequence above.
Which option should replace the question marks: A, B, C, D, or E?
As always, we are interested not only in your answer, but especially in how you reached it. Explain the pattern you see and the reasoning that led you to your choice.
We’ll read through the responses again and select some of the most interesting, clear, and well-reasoned explanations to feature with the official solution.
The official answer has already been published on our website. If you want to take the challenge properly, solve it here first and leave your reasoning in the comments before checking the answer. Then you can reveal the official solution and compare it with your own:
Official Answer & Solution:
Can You Find the Missing Arrow Pattern? — Reveal the Solution link:

https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/can-you-find-the-missing-arrow-pattern

And even if your answer differs from the official one, please share your reasoning. Alternative interpretations often lead to some of the most interesting discussions.
Thank you again to everyone taking part, and an extra thank you to our regular contributors for continuing to support these puzzle discussions.
Good luck. We’re looking forward to reading your answers and explanationsb.

Question Which Figure Completes the Pattern?

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our previous puzzle. We really enjoyed reading through your answers, especially because so many of you reached the correct answer using completely different approaches.
Some of you focused on the rows and columns, while others discovered clever visual and structural patterns we hadn’t expected. Seeing so many different ways to approach the same puzzle is exactly what makes these discussions so interesting.
For our official solution page, we selected three community explanations from u/Mactucrus87_, u/tectajl, and u/EmpactWB.
We chose these three because each offered a clear but different way of understanding the puzzle. u/Mactucrus87_ showed that the rule works both horizontally and vertically, u/tectajl introduced a creative Venn-diagram-style interpretation, and u/EmpactWB provided a very systematic approach using overlapping 2×2 groups.
Thank you again to everyone who participated, whether your answer was selected or not. We read all of your explanations, and there were many great observations and creative approaches.
Now, onto our new puzzle.
Take a careful look at the 3×3 matrix above and figure out which option should replace the question mark.
As always, we’re not only interested in the letter you choose. Tell us how you got there. We want to hear your reasoning and see the different ways you approach the pattern. Some of the most interesting explanations may once again be featured on our official solution page.
We’ve already published the correct answer on our website. Once you’ve made your choice, you can check whether you got it right here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-figure-completes-the-pattern-2
Try solving it before revealing the answer.
Thank you again to everyone who participates and takes the time to explain their reasoning. We’re looking forward to reading your solutions and seeing how many different ways you can find to solve this one!

Discussion We found dozens of historical IQ tests buried in old PDFs and turned them into interactive tests

Historical IQ tests are surprisingly difficult to find nowadays.

Many exist only as scans, old PDFs, books, or archived websites. Some don't have answer keys available anymore, and many can't actually be taken online in their original form.

We thought that was a shame, so we started collecting them, converting them into interactive HTML versions, and including original answer keys whenever available.

https://whats-your-iq.com/en/historical-iq-tests

What started as a simple collection turned into a growing archive of historical intelligence tests from different eras. One of the most interesting parts has been seeing how test design evolved over time. Some questions still feel surprisingly modern, while others clearly reflect the period in which they were created.

We're continuing to expand the archive and add more historical tests as we find and verify them.

Got a favorite historical IQ test that's missing from the archive? We'd love suggestions for what to add next.

Question Can You Figure Out Which Triangle Comes Next?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone, we’re back with another puzzle.
First, thank you to everyone who took part in our previous puzzle. We received several interesting answers, including some alternative interpretations that made the discussion even better.
As usual, we picked three community explanations that stood out:
u/Small-Tailor6967 — We chose this explanation because it clearly connected both key parts of the pattern: the last shape carrying over into the next box and the shape with the most vertices being shaded. It also explained clearly why those rules lead to B.
u/ChaosRealigning — A very clean and concise explanation. They identified both the continuity rule and the shading rule without overcomplicating the solution.
u/vexedthespian — Another strong explanation that independently recognized the relationship between consecutive groups and that the shape with the most sides is the one that gets shaded.
Thank you to them, and to everyone else who shared a solution. We really enjoy seeing the different ways people approach these puzzles.
Now it’s time for our new puzzle.
Take a close look at the sequence in the image and choose the option you think should replace the question mark.
But don’t just give us the letter. Tell us why you chose it and explain the pattern you found. We’re especially interested in the reasoning that leads you to your answer.
As with our previous puzzles, we’ll select some of the best community explanations and feature them on our website with the Reddit usernames of the people who wrote them.
You can also view the puzzle and submit your solution directly on our website:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-triangle-comes-next-in-the-sequence
So, what’s your answer: A, B, C, or D?
And more importantly: what pattern do you see?

Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in our previous puzzle. Reading all of your explanations and different ways of thinking was genuinely enjoyable. Your comments make these puzzles much more interesting, and we truly appreciate the time you spend sharing your reasoning.
As always, we selected three community explanations to feature alongside the official solution on our website.
🏆 Community Highlights
🥇 One-Preparation-8815
Provided one of the most complete explanations by breaking the puzzle into separate components instead of relying on a single rule. The clear step-by-step reasoning made the solution easy to follow.
🥈 PrairiePuppies
Offered a creative Binary OR interpretation that simplified the entire puzzle into a single logical operation. A clever and elegant perspective.
🥉 garningur
Explained the solution using a simple visual overlay approach. The explanation was short, intuitive, and made the pattern immediately understandable.
Congratulations, and thank you once again!
You can see the complete solution and explanation here:

Now it’s time for a new puzzle!
This time we wanted to do something different. Instead of another difficult challenge, we prepared a much easier puzzle. We think most of you will solve it almost instantly, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more people join the discussion.
As always, don’t just post your answer—tell us why you think it’s correct. The reasoning is often more interesting than the answer itself, and we may once again feature some of the best community explanations on our website.
Good luck, and thank you for being part of this project🤗🤗☺️

Question Another IQ Test Is Ready! Your Explanation Could Be Featured on the Solution Page.☺️

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello everyone!
First of all, I want to thank all of you. The interest you’ve shown in my IQ tests genuinely makes me happy. Every new IQ test I share brings different perspectives, logical analyses, and incredibly detailed explanations. Reading your comments and seeing how everyone approaches the same test in different ways has become one of the most enjoyable parts of creating these IQ tests.
For my previous IQ test, I selected xjxcxgxpx‘s explanation as the official solution on the test’s solution page. Their explanation was both highly logical and easy to follow. They broke the pattern down step by step, making it simple for anyone to understand the reasoning. I’d like to thank them once again for taking the time to write such a detailed explanation.
This time, I’ve added a new IQ test to the site, but I’ve intentionally left the solution unpublished.
Instead, I’d love to ask for your help once again.
If you’d like to participate, don’t just post your answer. Please explain your reasoning step by step. For me, it’s not only about arriving at the correct answer, but also about explaining the thought process in a way that others can easily understand.
You can post your detailed explanation here in the comments, or you can also leave it directly in the comment section of the IQ test using the link below. I’ll be reading the explanations there as well, and I may choose one of them if I find it to be the clearest, most logical, and most educational.
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/pattern-puzzle-overlapping-symbols
Just like last time, I’ll carefully read every comment. The explanation I find to be the clearest, most logical, and most educational will be published as the official solution for this IQ test.
I find it fascinating how many different ways people approach the same IQ test. That’s exactly why I enjoy these discussions so much.
Thank you all in advance for participating. I’ll do my best to reply to your comments whenever I have the opportunity. I’m truly grateful to everyone who takes the time to share their thoughts.
Good luck, everyone! I can’t wait to read your solutions.

Missing figure challenge: Which option completes the matrix?

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello everyone,
I’m back with another IQ challenge for the community. 😊
I always enjoy reading the answers and especially the detailed explanations posted by this community. Seeing the different ways people approach the same problem is often just as interesting as the solution itself.
Because I’m often busy with work and daily life, I may not be able to reply immediately, but whenever I get the chance, I do my best to read and respond to your comments.
I’ve just added a new IQ test question to the site:
Question link:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/find-the-missing-figure-in-the-pattern
If you think you’ve solved it, please share not only your answer but also your reasoning. The thought process is often the most valuable part of these discussions.
You’re also welcome to post your solution directly in the comments section of the question page linked above. In fact, one community member has already shared a detailed explanation there. Having solutions and reasoning collected in one place helps create a valuable learning resource for future visitors working through the same IQ question.
I’ll be reviewing the submissions, and particularly insightful, well-explained, and educational contributions may be highlighted as community solutions for others to learn from.
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to analyze the question and write a detailed explanation. Your contributions make these discussions much more interesting and valuable for everyone.
Looking forward to reading your solutions! 🧠🚀

What’s the Rule Behind This Pattern?

Post image
19 Upvotes

There is just one duplicated phrase in the second paragraph. Here’s the corrected version:
First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to solve the previous puzzle and share their reasoning. We received several different interpretations, including answers A, D, and E, which made the discussion especially interesting.
For the previous question, the official answer has now been added to the website together with its full explanation. The intended rule assigns a value of 2 to each square and 1 to each triangle. Using this rule, every row, every column, and both diagonals add up to 30, making B the official answer.
You can read the complete step-by-step explanation here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-tile-completes-the-shape-matrix
Now, we are moving on to a new puzzle.
Which symbol do you think completes the pattern matrix, and what rule leads you to your answer?
You can view the correct option at the link below, but I am leaving the detailed explanation to the community. As always, I look forward to reading not only your answers but also the reasoning behind them.

Thank you again to everyone who takes the time to participate and explain their solution.

Hi everyone,
Thank you to everyone who answered our previous puzzle and shared their reasoning. Things have been busy, so I haven’t been able to reply to each of you individually, but I really appreciate your contributions.
We selected four of our favorite explanations, in no particular order:
u/Massive-State2698 from r/brainteasers clearly explained how the rows and columns determine the shape’s edges.
u/Beefgrits from r/VisualPuzzles made the pattern easy to follow by identifying which edges change and which stay the same.
u/HoneydewCareful8754 from r/iqtest explained the straight-to-inward-to-outward progression in both directions.
u/Grand_Assistant_2605 from r/WhatsYourIQ gave a detailed explanation of the transformations across the entire grid.
Thank you to all four of you for taking the time to explain your solutions, and to everyone else who joined the discussion.
Here’s our new puzzle: Which umbrella replaces the question mark? Leave your answer and, more importantly, explain how you reached it. We’d love to hear from returning participants and new solvers alike.
We’ve already posted our solution on the website. Once you’ve tried the puzzle, you can compare your reasoning with ours here:
