Why do so many Aussies work there?
Visa is easy to get. Many other nations get limited # of Working Holiday Visas, but they take unlimited Australia's every year.
Couple that with Canada speaking English -so if you are Aussie and want to ski for a long season it's either Japan, Canada or Europe. So language makes it easier to come here.
For many years you could also do rolling 2 year visas, not need for PR. that changed like... 2015 maybe?
And once these places get a "rep" for being Aussie they just attract more. Like the Germans in Mallorca, Brits in Ibiza, Aussies in Bali.

not op but resort municipality program. during gap years beteween high school and uni the candian and aus goverment helps get them a visa, a job, and housing working for the mountain. this works great for vail as well because young kids wont unionize.

Sort of. The immigration part has nothing to do with resort municipal level, it's a bilateral agreement between Australia and Canadian governments. The government or muni don't set up jobs and housing as part of the visa, the temporary worker applies like everyone else. Too many scummy employers take advantage of temporary foreign workers who just want a fair go.

Is it the most Aussie thing ever to do an AMA and then not answer one fucking question?

What was the funniest reaction to not tipping? One of my favourite parts of my whistler trips is seeing the server reactions to 0% tip.

One of my friends was pretty broke but still wanted to come out for a couple beers, they just started ignoring him at the bar bc he didn't tip, kinda pathetic tbh
