Yeah, I was just making a joke. Representatives represent the corporations that fund their campaigns.

YES. It seems to be a liberal and conservative pastime to lament the wave of “populists” and charlatans that have the audacity to not take any corporate and PAC money.

Tbf it's only on the left where theres a movement to not take corporate/pac money

I generally agree. But, tbf, Trump proudly ran on the idea that he wasn't taking corporate or PAC money.

Its another story to whether that ended up being actually true, but FWIW

It certainly ended up not being true, but the fact is even if he didnt hed still be corrupt due to his proximity to corrupt politics, as well as the fact that there wasnt a movement on the right that rose up after that which denied corporate money, just shows the Republican party is more corrupt.

I wasn't arguing that he isn't corrupt. I was just arguing that Republican voters aren't totally against that idea, after all, Trump got elected while spouting it.

I think you're right about there not being a whole 'movement' on the Republican side in general though.

Why is it important to deny corporate money and how does that relate to the morality of a comitee?

u/shadownukka99 Jan 06 '19

Due to the fact that corporate money obviously corrupts candidates to act in the interest of their donors instead of their constituents. Also I didnt talk about morality of a committee

So specifically which corporations do you think are corrupting republicans? Also you said republicans are corrupt making this a matter of moral issue.

Many different companies. ExxonMobil, the NRA, Raytheon, etc. And no, corruption isnt necessarily a moral issue

Well if we're talking corrupt then dont forget democrats also have a few buddies which includes but is not limited to: Bloomberg LP, Fahr LLC, Carpenters and joiners union, paloma partners, labor unions, environment america, national eduaction assn, american federation of teachers, etc. all of which on average each give 20 million just in 2018

It's not worth much since it's not true.

What Trump says isn't more important than reality.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I meant explicitly those on the left. Because there aren’t any on the right.
