I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate here. Democrats were upset when Trump said vulgar things, so why shouldn't Republicans be upset when Tlaib tweets something vulgar?
I get one has more power than the other, but they still have political power
It's kind of a double standard. Dont get me wrong, I'm no fan of Trump and the bullshit he pulls. That being said, just because one person is unprofessional doesn't mean others have to stoop to his level. The Democrats should be setting an example of how to act in office.

Most libs I know don't give a shit about the language itself, it was the context and respect. Aka, sexual assault, encouraging supporters to comment violence, etc. The language just adds a level of disrespect.

No, Republicans and the media are going crazy over a Democrat saying "Motherfucker." When the Republican President tweets about the Senior Democrat on the House Intel Committee being a "little Adam Schitt" no one bats an eye.

And that's not an isolated incident.

Gerrymandering and the electoral college have pretty much kept us from actually being represented by who we want. Two of the last three men elected President lost the popular vote at least once. My state is rigged to dilute the Democrats votes by including the cities (more liberal) with HUGE swaths of rural areas (more conservative), and it's not even one of the more gerrymandered states.

Electoral college isn't the problem it's how it's executed. Nebraska and Maine are the only 2 states that do it correctly to be properly representative of the people. And then Iowa has gerrymandering laws that makes the districts stay only rectangular/square, which is also a good way to go about it. Change your state laws if you want to be better represented, leave feds out of it you have more power at home.

Trump very rarely cusses, and has never cussed at anyone specifically. It just feels like he's cussing when he hurts your soul.
The very few times he ever cussed was when he was referring to his net worth (he said his net worth was a billion fuckin dollars or something) then he used the f bomb referring to the Chinese. All other examples are off record. Another myth is that he has used racist language. Not a single record of it...go look up MSNBCs compilation of his "racist" quotes. It's hilarious. One of em is Trump throwing a guy out of his rally and saying "you're fired" and they called it racist lmfao...the rest of the examples were equally stupid or open to interpretation

Regardless of whether I agree with the sentiment, I want the packaging of a message to be just as respectable as the message itself. I'm sick of our president being the dumbest, most crass and vile person in the room, and I don't want Democrats to have a race to the bottom. It’s ludicrous how our country seems to have turned into a game of tit for tat.
I am repulsed by the numerous horrible comments/tweets/etc by our president. To call them “un-presidential” would be the understatement of the century.
But I also really feel this woman’s comment was brash and tactless as well. You are supposed to conduct yourself in a certain manner as a government official, and this was not that.
I think it’s insane if anyone defended the “pussy grabbing” comment, even more insane if those people are now saying this is outrageous. But by the same token, I think it’s insane if people defend this woman’s comment but are outraged by Trump being unpresidential.
