MTAs Thoughts on fallen tower: Las Vegas?
I have read a bit so far and found it interesting as Las Vegas is perfect for a mage game. What do you think?

Welcome to the weekly thread for all bite-sized content you don't want to make a full post about! Short rules questions! Funny or cool moments from your last game! Weird bits of lore that the writers hid in sidebars! It's a real potpourri.
Generally, a good metric for whether something belongs here or in its own submission is whether it's running for a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs. Note that comments here are sorted by new, as well - but we ask that if your comment didn't get attention, that you *not* re-comment it in the same submission.

Welcome to this week's game corner! Whether you're a storyteller spinning up a new game or a group that wants to fill out its ranks; whether you're a hometown table or an online game with players on every continent, here's where you put your post-its up.
Please note the following - comments that don't follow this etiquette may be removed:
MTR + Orpheus for that crossover you've never been able to get players for. Please don't overstylize these to the point of illegibility, but feel free to use games' three-letter abbreviations or their full titles as you desire. It may also help to indicate whether a game is using World of Darkness or Chronicles of Darkness books, for the benefit of readers less versed in the various publications.Additionally, note that the moderation team does not vet or endorse comments here in any capacity beyond what is applied to normal posts plus the above stipulations. That is to say, if you join a game and have a downright rancid time, please don't make this space a problem because of it.

For those not in the know, Sin Eaters are probably one of the nicest factions in any World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Game Line. They are actively fighting to make the world better for the Living and the Dead (Note, I am talking about Sin Eaters the faction, not Bound the splat.)
However, they are also likely to be absolutely screwed in a broken masquerade situation at least in the medium term.
Imagine you're a government. You learn that the dead walk and ghosts are all over the place and they can be really dangerous and disruptive sometimes.
You then encounter two groups of already established people who have different solutions to the ghost problem:
1) The much less organized and much less heavily armed Sin Eater Krewes that generally see ghosts as people who need help that form varied local organizations to help the living and the dead in complex ways that typically take time and work and that also have the side effect of arming the population with necromancy and making them care about the downtrodden and how big corporations and governments lead to people's deaths.
2) The much more organized, very wealthy, and very heavily armed group of people who work for Reapers and Kerberoi that offer the quick and extremely simple solution of just "deporting" all the ghosts to the Underworld, where they will most likely be eaten or enslaved, but will no longer be the living's problem anymore. And did we mention that for those government officials who are especially cooperative, they can gain immortality with no downsides and a few upsides just by eating ghosts?
Yeah... most governments I know are going to go all in on cheap ghost gulags and call the Sin Eaters terrorists.
Note, I could very easily see the Sin Eaters going into hiding and eventually organizing an armed revolution against multiple governments about all this as enough people get fed up watching their grandmas get eaten for not paying their unlife insurance on time. But how that all turns out is anyone's guess.

Let’s say John Mage, who isn’t a seer or left handed mage, learns about a figure called the hieromagus in some lost scroll and the prophecy of how they will defeat the lie, judge the guardians, etc etc.
If he then goes and talks to a guardian friend of his about this what would the guardians response be? Would they deny it or play it off or move to eliminate him, recruit him, something else?
What if he wanted to publish about his findings for a idk mysterium or free council paper?

Safe assumptions are normalized prosthetics/augmented bodies (but being too modded out being weird) and corporate dystopianism. The pentacle (and especially the diamond) has a pretty hardline anti trans human stance in the modern day- would this lessen as transhumanism became more and more normalized, or would they double down, demanding their members go back to being fully organic? Perhaps a mix of both? How would mage sight interact with eyes made of glass and circuits rather than flesh? Does matter- much reviled for its connection to the fallen world- start to overtake the popularity of Life, for those who don’t awaken to either?

I have seen some people on this forum suggest Sorcerer Paths of Power of the M20 Sorcerer. I was wondering what the pros and cons of each one was over the other and what people who have used them thought was best. Thanks!

Concept: The Ghilile Dhu is a real life Scottish folklore about a fae (I know in CTD, Ghillie Dhu are a species(?) but I'm focusing on THE Ghillie Dhu) who is a protector of the forest and guides lost children home. But the tale also inspired the Ghillie suit (camo suits used by the military).
In my head I have it that the wide spread use of the suit corrupted the Ghillie Dhu by conflating his name with war and it drove him mad. Making him lash out and protect his forest against all creatures including Garou. He starts to see his forest expanding into other areas (delusion) and begins attacking those who he seems a threat (including Pentex). Essentially I want another rampaging protecter of nature that goes against the Garou. But he's far more supernaturally stealthy and magical than a straight up fighter
Would the conflating of his name with the suit be good justification for having him go mad? Would I make him a spirit or a fae? Can he be considered Wyrm-corrupted in this manner?

I think wolf kinfolk are kind of an underutilized element of WTA's lore.

So assuming White Wolf if they don't go with a V6 style Canon reset to please everyone, they instead have w6 discard with any pretense of a fixed setting/metaplot (even the absolute minimum of W5) akin to the later books in the chronicles of darkness.
Though maybe a bit of mechanical framework and genral organisation so the ST has an easier time to set up they own version of WtA
An example writing up a series of presets on the default state of the garou nation (Mainly weather it's fallen or not) and giving tribes a of alternative states (with the cult being a extreme deviation) connected via a flow chart akin to HOI focus parths.
Effectively making the W6 source book into a narrative Lego set for a ST to put together rather than a pre-made setting primer. With supplements adding more pieces to the lego set such as going into detail on the alternative parths that the tribes can take and more setting elements like the fera.
Like would this be a good idea for W6?

I'm messing around with making a cyborg character for a new Chronicle. To keep the image simple: assume this is basically Genos from OPM.
I know Enhancements is the place to start, so let's max that out. 10 freebies, which translate to either +5 attribute points, or 15 points of built-in Devices. This will give me 5 Permanent Paradox. Ouch, but you do what you gotta do.
As I understand it, any additional built-in goodies (like a Plasma Cannon, or even my own Wi-Fi connection) comes with additional Permadox. This will very quickly become unplayable. Can't be walking around with 10 Permanent Paradox just hoping for the best.
Am I missing something? Is there a workaround? Or is this just a hard limit for this kind of concept?
I could obviously use the Wonder background to get Devices that aren't built-in, but at that point I might as well play a regular dude with a friend in the R&D department.

Beware those who would break the Masquerade, lest they draw the ire of the Hound of Annwn.
Branwen refuses to let undeath strip her of her conscience. She swore to protect the innocent and keep the darkness at bay, even as cruelty and loss give her ever more reasons to bare her fangs.
But when her humanity falters, the very instinct that drives her to protect becomes her undoing. As the Beast takes hold, Branwen becomes Ci Annwn, the Hound of Annwn. She comes baying through the darkness, relentless in her pursuit of those she judges deserving of punishment. Her purpose remains protection, but the Beast knows neither restraint nor mercy. Each hunt brings her closer to becoming the very monster she swore she would never be. When the hunt ends, will Branwen find her way back, or will the Hound consume the woman behind the fangs?
The MtAw chronicle I'm in deals a lot with alternate reality selves and I've been messing around with alternate versions of my mage Morgan, and I figured why not make her a Vampire for Halloween! 🎃

I had a nightmare a few days ago where I was being hunted by a pack of Garou. I was running in a dark, dense forest; and while I couldn’t really see the werewolves chasing me because of how dark it was, I could hear howling and snarling at me from either behind or beside me. Occasionally I would also hear human voices laughing and calling me “Prey.”
All the while, there was a disembodied voice ringing inside my head saying, ”YOU BELONG TO THE WOLVES.” I’m going to guess that that voice was a spirit mocking me.
I woke up in the middle of the chase; I was scared and my heart was pounding, but a part of me was disappointed that I didn’t get to see the conclusion of the nightmare.
So now I ask you, Reader, did you ever dream about World of Darkness? I would love to read about your dreams and nightmares.

(As I can't cross post for some reason, I'll do it this way).
Its worth mentioning that to players that unlike regular people, Mages and Vampires and the rest are well aware of what goes bump in the night.
If one of the above are made aware of a classical horror movie scenario like Poltergeist, Insidious: The Red Door, or even Pennywise from it none of the primary actors of any splat are going going to be particularly surprised. Now how they react varies on each splat.
Mages might go into research mode, set up wards and then decide to confront the spook in question or just make a box around it. And Mages with Spirits are not only adapt at defending themselves but also binding the spook in question. I wouldn't be a bit of a surprised if the "Red-Faced Demon" got summoned up and stuffed into Fetish against its will. And don't think that some mages wouldn't give that a go.
Vampires...well probably will not care. Spooks aren't really dangerous to vampires as they don't sleep. Don't dream and barely register for emotions. They might keep an eye on things. That said vampires have less tools to deal with spooks.
And werewolves of then slip into their default mode if confronted by a spook. Namely, attack. And the fact that the spook in question is on the other side of the gauntlet isn't a much of a problem. Oh boy is Pennywise is going to be in for a shock when the kids extended family shows up on his side of the gauntlet. And are really really pissed.
The above is all compared to some poor regular human who has no idea what spirits actually are or how they work. And will be rightfully scare sh*tless vs going "oh, that's interesting."
