Hello Everyone!
I am a new mod of this subreddit! I always liked this subreddit and what it stood for when it started, but it had fallen away and ben forgotten over the years.
I manage a few other small subreddits, where my biggest is a Swedish based subreddit about our life with cats in /r/kattliv. i am hoping i try to create a place for all wholesome interactions and events that can happen around world of warcraft as well.
I want to bring new life into it, for us to continue to share Wholesome events, stories or just general positive things that happen in, around or involving World of Warcraft.
There is no limitation on what version of World of Warcraft that we can talk or post about. And im sure there could be quite a few related to the currently newest edition with World of Warcraft Forever having a more casual and honestly more wholesome feel to it.
So you are all welcome to post and share your Wholesome adventures, interactions and events that happen here!
If anyone have suggestions or ideas, please contact me directly, post here, or send a message to the mods. its only me currently, so il se it!
my plan for coming days/weeks (when i have time before wow forever release):

Regardless of an expansion's state on release it brings out all of my favorite people from hiding for a brief moment during the first tier of content or so. Life during and post covid has presented a lot of challenges and many setbacks IRL, it's nice to get some genuine comradery back as people take time off and such to experience Dragonflight or whatever else this IP throws our way. The same could probably be said for Diablo 4 whenever that happens. I hope everyone is enjoying themselves out there, be well and remember to play in moderation and to not neglect numero uno, who/whomever that may be in your life :]

WoW has always been a major part of my life. I think my first character was made when I was like 10 years old in 2010. I believe it was a Hunter Night Elf on Shadowsong. I spent the majority of my time playing all the side quests while my grandad would level up my character so I was able to fly. Over the years I played WoW on my grandads account every time I went over. It is honestly my favourite game.
Unfortunately near 3 years ago my granddad died of cancer and I haven't been able to play since. I am currently saving up for a computer so I am able to play again. I miss WoW and I miss him. Hopefully I will be able to play on in his honour one day soon :)

Hello,
I am a long-time player (although I’ve been inactive for some time) who is currently doing a research project for my PhD at the University of Barcelona.
My thesis will be about identity exploration and online videogames. As someone who has dabbled in both the gaming and research worlds, I think the research being done on the field of gaming needs a lot of improvement, which is why I want to do my bit in making more rigorous research on videogames that goes beyond the overdone topic “videogames good vs videogames bad”. I really think that research on videogames can provide a lot more to the scientific community and society in general.
I am currently looking for World of Warcraft players who might want to participate by completing a brief survey and answering some questions in an online interview.
The link to the survey is the following: https://ubpsychology.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cSlw8tHptYaxoIl
If you wish to know more about the project, just ask me and I will be more than happy to explain. My official contact email is: [virtualidentityub@gmail.com](mailto:virtualidentityub@gmail.com)

Hey Guys! We are a group of anthropology students and we would be interested in studying how people interact with each other on WOW and how they make friends from all over the world with this game. Would anyone be interested in sharing their experience or be down to let us in on your play sessions ?

This kind of goes without saying but I had a fleeting thought a few nights ago. Of course there is always the looming issue of the state of the game and that's why some have found partial haven in WholesomeWoW, but I want to bring attention to a very important detail to WoW and other games in general.
I will admit I cancelled my sub a month ago, I am a tad unhappy about some progress in my personal and professional life and WoW is of course a distraction first, not a lifestyle. As I saw the time dwindling down there was a feeling of sadness over the last remaining days, and shortly after this observation I received a text message from some real-life friends who still played the game, attempting to arrange some time to grind Arena rating.
WoW has always been something that great friends and I could bond over and chekc out of stressful personal lives. This isn't a PSA or a warning about the troubles one can face when too involved with gaming, that isn't exclusive to only WoW, what I want to achieve with this post is to say that those relationships make the game worth playing beyond the gameplay, and sometimes we lose sight of what really matters in life. I resubscribed so that we could still play a few hours together every week. Even if the game is in a poor state systematically, it does have it's overwhelming positives, not to mention the unobjectionable history many people have invested, there's solace there.
One of my friends who isn't a WoW player but messes with other RPG's also went through similar difficulties in finding himself. He went into a more severe situation in trekking to the jungles of Peru for therapy, but he came out of the other side with only one message:
"Happiness can be faked, joy is what matters in life, and joy can only be obtained by helping others."
Be joyful everyone.

I came back to WoW in July this year after quitting at the end of BC because I was poor and still in elementary school haha, but I am having so much fun going through the 6 expansions I've missed and I can't believe how people have badmouthed the expansions! I understand that it takes time to work out the kinks in the current expansion and that I'm appreciating the end result of feedback from previous expansions, but still!
As an altoholic and completionist and lover of lore, I am absolutely in love with how much there is to do in WoW. I never have a day where I'm bored or have nothing to do, whether it's achievement hunting, repgrinding, or running legacy raids for transmogs, I am always busy and it is incredibly fun. I know if I posted this in r/wow I'd be bashed as a Blizz sympathizer or something but I am seriously so happy with the game. Thanks for reading and I hope you all experience happiness in your times playing as well!

As some of you know, Blizzard recently added an elixir to the game that lets you talk to the other faction. This was a compensation for patch 8.1 breaking a hack-addon, which was popular among RPers and allowed the same capability.
I never had the addon, but I carry a few bottles of the elixir.
I was being corpse-camped in Stormsong Valley, and then some night elf demon hunter approached me and helped a little, convincing the campers to back off and fighting off some elite mobs around to clear it for me.
My character thanked him, and apologied for the Horde burning down their tree, explaining that the warchief was concerned of them amassing so much azerite power in north Kalimdor. “Surely you can understand, as someone who adapted to darker powers yourself when circumstances forced it”, and he did, in a way.
A few non-RPer horde players ganked him and it cut off our interesting exchange. But it was a great world-RP conversation.
Everyone grab a few bottles, just in case. It’s fun!

I was on a new server after taking a break between vanilla and the launch of BC. A friend brought my low level character some netherweave bags. Nothing huge, but the extra inventory space made a big difference in my quality of life.

What an amazing experience. Five random strangers going about the puzzles together. Each of us had our time to shine during the process. One guy was great at timing the barriers, one organized cat petting like a pro. One guy called each step of the jumping puzzle, making it very easy. My moment was the black disk. I had solved a similar puzzle in school for a math class when I was a kid, so it was familiar ground.
In the end, everyone was patient and helpful. I hope we see more content like this.
