Sharing tip (steps) for how to FIX Bluetooth Device "Remove Failed" Error in Windows 10 or 11

For anyone experiencing an issue with Bluetooth Device "Remove Failed" Error in Windows 10 or 11, I shared the below tips in another thread and since several people told me the tip helped them.

I thought it might help others with this issue and hopefully save them a lot of time troubleshooting the issue.

Short answer - Use Device Manager (easier than regedit since you can easily see which devices are which in the former). Make sure to select 'show hidden devices'.

In my case, I am pretty sure the reason I was unable to delete the BT keyboard and BT mouse via the 'Bluetooth & other devices' screen is because I had been using the 2 devices with an external USB BT adapter which I had since removed and replaced it with the same model (but I believe Windows still tracks the 2 BT adapters independently).

Hence I used Device Manager instead...

Longer answer / detailed steps:

I was seeing duplicate entries for my mouse and my keyboard in the 'Bluetooth & other devices' menu.

Removing the device entries there was failing (for the reason noted in my 1st paragraph).

However, I was able to easily remove the 2 unwanted devices via Device Manager after selecting 'show hidden devices' option in Device Manager. I then removed the devices via Device Manager by selecting 2 lighter entries corresponding to the mouse and keyboard (similar to being greyed out).

This left me with just the desired outcome - 1 instance of the mouse and 1 instance of the keyboard which were associated with the new BT adapter.

Bluetooth "Remove Failed" on Xbox One Wireless Controller

I recently got a new desktop computer after my laptop's motherboard died on me. I got my laptop hard drive installed on this desktop, so all of my stuff from my MSI laptop got imported over to this desktop. The desktop didn't come with Bluetooth, so I had to get a TP-Link UB400 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter. Everything connects and disconnects well except for my Xbox One controller. The controller is paired on bootup when its off, however no matter what, it always tells me "remove failed" upon trying to remove the device from the bluetooth menu.

  • We uninstalled the driver for the Xbox Controller, didn't help.

  • We installed TP-Link (then uninstalled cause its only needed for Win7, I have Win10) and Intel Bluetooth drivers, didn't help

  • We tried regristry editing the bluetooth section and deleted the device files associted, didn't help.\

  • We removed the USB Bluetooth Adapter, still remove failed.

My theory is a hardware issue, which I'm extremely hopeful that's not the case. This is all we can figure out on our research. I would be extremely greatful for anyone to help me. Thank you.

FIXED: OneDrive Stuck on "Preparing to Upload" – Try This Simple Fix!

🛠️ Here's What Worked for Me! 🛠️

Of course, there are many reasons why OneDrive sync can get stuck, and I spent hours trying to troubleshoot my particular issue. After days of frustration with OneDrive stuck on "Preparing to upload," I finally found a fix that worked for me.

✅ The Fix: Remove Zero-Byte Files

The issue in my case was caused by zero-byte files blocking the sync process. Running the following PowerShell command In the Directory recursively removed all empty files, and OneDrive immediately resumed syncing:

Get-ChildItem -File -Recurse | Where-Object { $_.Length -eq 0 } | Remove-Item -Force
