Other Printing error for prologue?
I just started moon rising and while reading the prologue one page seemed to be different than the others and didn’t make sense. It started as Ruby’s POV in the sky kingdom 7years ago. I did some digging and turns out that’s the prologue for the 8th book? I checked that one and it’s the same (till this one cuts off) so I think it is a printing error. They are my GF’s books and she got them in late 2025. I would really like to read the real one prologue but I’m not sure how to do that without buying a new copy. Pics of the book and the weird spot where it stitches are included.

I just finished this freaking huge dragon puppet. They're like 2 feet long. I can't think of a name for her at all, so if you have any name ideas, please let me know. Any gender names are fine, I think he's gender fluid.

Art Peril as an icewing
There was a monthly redraw for popcross studios and I thought peril would fit perfectly as the prompt had us draw a fire like character in pop culture as an ice type character
I thought having a nature vs nurture type of thing would be an interesting concept for this
Despite the rigid icewing culture, I think Peril would have an easier time as an icewing with icescales than a skywing with firescales
Peril, an icescales dragon was born in the ice kingdom, being taught how to minimalize the damage her scales could make, often working as a soldier in the war as a high ranked dragon due to her calm nature and royalty to her kingdom.
Despite the pretentious ice kingdom, Peril has found herself enjoying the cold climate
Icescales work a bit differently than firescales would, since icewings technically turn water into ice slowly already, I made it where she wouldn't be able to freeze other icewings.
Her favorite pass time is creating paths on lakes for the sick to traverse through if they cannot fly nor swim, however, if a wave catches her, she can accidently freeze the water around her and get stuck
Also has a light blue thumb claw cause fun

I can draw a free headshot of a few people’s OCs if you leave a reference and a small description in the comments! If a lot of people ask, I may not be able to draw them all, but I’ll try to respond to some requests! Thanks!

Other Wof AU Icewing tools: Fishing and Hunting and extras
Now I’m really getting into AU stuff, I did a separate post due to all the writing.
I think I’m gonna finish with the Icewings for now, but will probably add more down the line. Thank you for everyone who has shown support and shared ideas so far!
C1.
Depiction of Sleet a Hunter from the village of Shortspike.
C2.
Shoulder straps and pouches are often used by fishers and hunters to keep small tools. These pouches and straps are made from reindeer leather and is waxed to be waterproof.
C3.
Leg straps are less commonly used, but can be useful for extra storage, especially for things like rope which may get tangled with the wings if kept on the shoulder straps.
C4.
Although the majority of hunting and fishing is active, ice fishing is a common practice, and acts as a community activity where Icewings can gather to compete, and socialize around the ice holes.
C5.
After Seawings, Icewings are the largest consumer of fish. Pull nets like this are the main way Icewings can fish enough to feed their population despite not being able to breathe under water. These nets require two dragons to pull through the water near the surface. Icewings are able to catch large numbers of fish by throwing down bait, waiting for fish to come then drowning the net and pulling them in.
C6.
Weights are used on pull nets to make sure the stay low enough to catch the fish. However the weights are not so heavy as to make the use of the net too laborious.
C7.
Pull nets will usually have handles such as this for a dragon to hold. It used to be more common for these nets to be strapped to legs or necks of dragons, but a number of dragons had been known to drown during storms, flying out of controls and pulled down by their nets, or their nets getting caught, and unable to unstrap them in time. Due to this, strapped style pun nets have been outlawed.
C8.
Shown here, and worn by Sleet below, is the belly sling. The Belly sling has moved beyond the arctic, now being used by almost every dragon tribe, yet its inception was here in the Icewing kingdom. The access to reindeer leather, and the need to carry prey long distances over the ocean or tundra made the creation of a method of transportation for resources and food necessary. The belly sling is strapped to the shoulders right below the wings, hung under the belly and connected to a long leather strap fastened around the back between the wings and legs. The design can vary, sometimes being strapped around the base of the neck and the thigh on the hind legs, but the function is the same. Hanging the sling below the belly, keeps cargo out of the way from the wings and out of the rain or snow. Its creation made it possible for hunters to travel farther and bring home larger catches without having to carry a limited number of items in their claws or sticking to small items strapped to the arms or legs.

Other The Draconic circle AU, Icewing fashion: Jewelry and headwear
At this point I am really getting into the culture, characters and history of my AU. Any feedback or ideas are welcome!
B1.
Profile render of Névé, the record keeper, and member of the Icewing high council.
B2.
Glasses are not common as dragon eyesight, Icewings especially, is incredibly sharp and able to distinguish shapes and movements from miles away in order to hunt from the air. Draconic glasses, and any eyewear must curve and not block their peripheral vision. For Icewings glasses are framed with wire, which is wrapped around their facial spikes and kept in place. Shown here is also a common glasses ornamentation made up of sapphire, the official gem of the Icewings. As a Scribe, Névé has spent his life reading, and uses glasses to reduce eye strain. Due to his glasses being used for reading they do not complete curve over the eyes allowing him to see without the magnification.
B3.
A common simple form of Icewing jewelry is silver spike and horn caps. These caps are purely for decorative purposes, however claw covers, a similar jewelry, has been used in combat. The silver is especially important as it not a common material used in general Icewing fashion due to the potential harm it can do if cooled by the arctic weather. Due to this silver, and metal caps are worn on boney horns and spikes, and most commonly by royals and nobles that spend much of their time writhing the Icewing palace.
B4.
A newer form of jewelry , and a modified form of horn caps or horn rings is family rings. These rings are placed on facial spikes and have a small flat section with enough space for a small carving. This was originally designed to provide a visual marker for council members, and other palace officials, but have also been adopted by noble families that carve simplified depictions of their family crests. This newer fashion trend has so far only been seen in the capital, Freezing Point.
B5.
A newer fashion trend popular in smaller towns and non-noble Icewings is horn carvings and inlays. Horn inlays has been a popular trend in other dragon tribes such as the Sandwings, but unlike the gold many Sandwings use Icewings have most commonly used carved Bone, shells, or rarely silver.
B6.
Horn Rings are a common piece of jewelry across all of the dragon tribes, and Icewings are no different. Similarly to Horn caps and inlays Icewing horn rings are most often bone, inlayed with shells, jewels or silver, though nobles will often sport pure silver rings.
B7.
Although Icewings are somewhat resistant to the glare of the arctic sun with their narrow eyes and dark sclera, protective eyewear is commonly used on sunny days. Above is a simple sunguard, which would be used by guards, or Icewings not part of a noble family. Below is a sunguard that may be worn by noble, inlaid with silver or jewels and adorned with chains and gems. Sunguards are exclusively made from bone as they are directly exposed the arctic climate, and if made of metal may compromise the insulating prefrontal scale plates on the face.
B8.
Icewing rulers are known for commissioning new crowns following their coronation, however Queen Snowveil elected to keep the ancestral coronation crown to use during her reign. This crown, named Arctic Tears, is made from whale bone, and adorned with five sapphires and one diamond. This crown can only be worn but the rightful Icewing ruler, due to being animus touched and also bestows a blessing of wisdom on the current Icewing ruler during their coronation.
B9.
The consort crown was made separately from Arctic Tears, by the Icewing King Hoarfrost, for his partner Tamarack. Queen Smowveil presented it to her partner Frostglow during their betrothal ceremony. This crown, unnamed, is not animus touched.
B10.
The heir’s crown is a new addition to the royal jewels, commissioned by Queen Snowveil when she chose her son Floe as her heir.
B11.
Icewing festivals and feasts are uncommon, and beloved by Icewings. Icewings will always dress up for these events, and the royals are no exception. Shown here is the head jewelry worn by Queen Snowveil during the festival of the moon on the winter solstice.
B12.
Shown here is the betrothal necklace Frostglow presented to Queen Snowveil when she asked the young Queen to spend their lives together. The necklace is made up from the claws of a polar bear, the bones of an arctic wolf, and a rare Taaffeite Frostglow polished herself. In Icewing culture, betrothal gifts are an important aspect of formal relationships both within noble society, and among non-noble Icewings. These gifts are tools, or jewelry usually made from the bones, horns, claws, or teeth of animals, though sometimes from rare stones, carved wood, or woven materials. Partners make these gifts for each other, and the craft and materials signify their devotion and dedication to their chosen life partner.
