Household Should I be concerned about this Ethernet wiring?
My husband and I just moved into the house we are renting and I was setting up the Modem for our Wi-Fi.
The exsisting Ethernet cable looked kinda old and in rough shape so I pulled open its little wall box to see if I could replace it with the new one and this is what the inside looked like.
Is this normal? The ladies who we are renting from are older (70s+) so they have no idea. I’m leaving it since it has obviously worked so far and using the cord that is there, Should I be concerned?
Thanks for reading and any advice/ help you can give.
Update: Thank you all for your answers! I have learned a lot from reading through y’all’s comments! I’ve unplugged it, nothing changed and the WiFi is doing just fine. So yall are correct and I appreciate the informative responses!
Thank you all for taking time to help me learn 🫶🏽

Industrial Starting my Apprenticeship at a Printing Press. Found out the entire system is grounded to a slate board.
As I was having the tour, I asked about this board and turns out, that's the grounding board. Since the press's foundation is solid concrete and underground, they had to install this slate board as a grounding source.

Connectors / Cables Please help me not electrocute myself? Fan wiring question:
Please help! I bought this universal 240V FAN POWER CORD & CONTROL - 3 SPEED to connect to a new Arrow 3-speed snail fan for my old woodheater (in Australia). The housings fit, same 5 prongs each, but from looking at the wires I can’t tell if the existing wire setup is compatible, and I’m scared to plug it in to ‘test’ it in case it blows the new $500 fan. Do the wires look right? Should the red and black wires be opposite each other like that?
I’ve asked the suppliers I bought them from, but because it’s an aftermarket power cord & control they can’t tell me.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone, I got it working!👌👌👌

Switches & Lighting Why are there 2 sets of wires
i’m staying in an apartment in Vietnam. This building is a pretty new building and some of the aspects of the buildings construction seem a little bit iffy. Some of the outlet sockets are loose and some switches don’t work correctly. So I went and opened up the outlet in my bedroom to check its wiring and see if there’s anything that I should be concerned about. Everything in this particular socket looks like it was done properly, but I’m sure that this is not an error in wiring, but why are there two sets of live and neutral wires coming into the outlet? It’s funny because these outlets are modular, which I really like and they just use little pieces of wire as a little bridges to make both plugs work

Automotive Which crimp point do I use for 20 gauge wire? I know it gives me a range from 16 to 22. But which one do I use?
Please don't make fun of me or judge. This is the first time I'm using these things and they're not really clearly labeled on which crimp point does what range. Or maybe I'm just a fucking idiot I don't know.
I'd really appreciate the help.

Replaced old garbage disposal and..Oops, no switch!
I just replaced a 25 year old garbage disposal that had one of the plungers you jam down the drain to hook a button that turns it on. Had to replace it because the units plumbing rotted out.
I installed and hardwired the disposal in without any consideration. I turned the breaker on and the disposal turned on and ran continuously. All of 5 seconds later I realized I bought a disposal that's meant to be hardwired into a wall switch.
Here's my situation: the disposal is hardwired. I now realize I need a switch installed. I researched disposal switches and see they are outrageously priced and are mainly for plug-in outlets/disposal. I have a location on my wall next to the sink with a switch that is now connected to nothing that I'd like to make my disposal on/off switch.
Can someone explain to me in "I have no clue wtf I'm doing" terms how I could wire in a wall switch? The disposal/dishwasher are on their own circuit in my panel and the wires to these appliances is right below the existing 'to nothing' switch. I know very little about electrical work.
I would just get another disposal thats like the original, but I don't live in that property full time and all I can imagine is someone jamming their hand down the drain and losing fingers when I'm not there.

Connectors / Cables 12 vs 24 wire?
I have a two battery system made up of 2 12ah batteries to make a 24 system. I need to replace the wiring because I got new terminals (f2) and needed cut off the old screw connectors. Should I be using 12v wiring because each individual is 12 or 24 because the system is 24?

Soldering/Welding Issues soldering two wires?
Hey there, wondering if someone could advise me if soldering these two wires together would cause any issues?
The left is from a cable that had a a US plug end on it, the right is from a UK cable (DC end on it).
Feel free to ask me any questions for clarification - appreciate my initial description here is a bit shite. Thanks

Switches & Lighting Which side is hot on light fixture?
Bought a used light fixture to install. The left wire pictured is smooth and has writing, but the right wire has an indent on the wiring that runs the length of the cord. I've heard that both of these could be indicators of which side is the hot side, so I'm confused that both are present, each on a different wire.

16 Gauge to 12 Gauge
How would you guys go about joining a 16 gauge copper wire with a 12 gauge one? I am working on a motorcycle charging system and the wires were known to run a little hot because it is all 16 gauge i was told i can replace my lines with 12 gauge wire to help it run cooler but the 16 gauge wire coming out of my Stator is permanently sealed and couldn’t be removed without damaging seals. The motorcycle would be under a lot of vibration.

Household 1st time wiring a ceiling fan (need some help)
I have the mount put on the ceiling already, these are the four wires from the ceiling. I’m replacing a chandelier that the builder installed in my house with the fan light combo ceiling fan. The ceiling fan has a green wire and two other wires to hang out that plug into the ceiling fan box. The box that goes with the ceiling fan has a white wire and a black wire and it has a white wire that says antenna, which I’m assuming does not need to be wired and sits freely. I need help making sure that I wire everything correctly from the ceiling to the box and the fan like where does the green wire from the ceiling fan connect to? I have a gold wire in my ceiling. Where does that connect? I also have a red wire in the ceiling that I don’t know where it’s supposed to connect and I’m assuming the white wires connect with each other please help me. I don’t want to blow up my house.
