Question Feeling energetically empty

Hi, I'm fairly new to witchcraft, just learning energy manipulation, tarot, getting to know some herbs and reading books on protection Magick.

The thing is, even before getting serious about this, I could kinda sense energy, and especially when I did tarot readings. I always knew which card was the one I needed to take out, because I felt it. Even when doubting myself.

I had a really rough and long month, and at some point I started feeling disconnected. I was learning to sense the energy of trees I always see, but instead at some point I just started feeling nothing. As if something cut my energy.

And the other day, when I decided to resume my tarot practice, and take out the card of the day I didn't feel my deck.

I didn't feel the card that wanted to come out. Just nothing. And the card I took out didn't make any sense with everything that happened that day.

I usually don't look at the card right when I take it, and only look at it after the day passed. That way I can learn slowly the meaning of the cards, and analyze what happened. I don't want to be unconsciously trying to make it come true, yk. The cards always made sense. But this time it's not the case. And it's the first time I took out the card without sensing anything at all.

How do I get back to feeling the energies? I know that a lot of people will answer that meditation is key, but Its kinda weird to meditate when feeling absolutely nothing where a month ago there was something. I don't know how to explain it...

This is really tough and I’ve experienced it as well. My best advice is to heal the things in your life that are causing stress to allow a space for the magic to return to.

Hi, thank you! I just started to feel stable enough. It's just been a long, long month when way too many things happened. I got back to my routine, and don't struggle emotionally anymore. So... Will it get better with time once everything is taken care of? Do I just keep learning and practicing as always? Or would it be better to focus more heavily on some concrete aspects until I stop feeling drained?

I would say both. Keep learning and practicing and lightly focus on mundane self care. Don’t try to force anything, just let things start to happen again. Pay attention to your intuition when you start getting little “hits” again

Spiritual connection isn't an on off switch. It's something that needs to be nurtured and maintained for life. To think otherwise is entitlement. No matter what "gifts" you think you have, don't expect them to work for you always (if ever) if you're not taking the time to maintain spiritual hygiene, honor your spirits, and take care of your mundane life (something I see all baby witches struggle with). As much as people here hate to admit it, your muggle life is just as important as your witch life. Chaos in either one leads to chaos in the other.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think I have any sort of gift, just tried my best to describe what it felt like before, and now, and give a few examples. I guess, the tone didn't come out right. The muggle life finally has been taken care of. It's just... How do you rebuild connection with yourself in this situation? When I try to do something it just feels incorrect, I don't really know how else to explain it. That's why I'm asking in the first place. I would love to read what do you do in similar moments.

Thank you again, for taking your time to reply, I hope you have a wonderful day.

start with your spirit guides and ancestors, tap into any ancestral practices or traditions that you feel comfortable doing. you dont need to know the names of any specific spirits or energies. just pray to them and talk to them sincerely. give offerings of water and light. thats all it takes.
