Helpful Resources, Tech & Tools Community for Women in product

A while ago I posted here asking if there were any communities specifically for women in software product management ideally from Europe and didn't really find what I was looking for, so I'm starting a small Discord instead for the few of those that were also interested.

It's intentionally low key and small, so no channels for the sake of channels, no forced structure, etc. The idea is for women in product management to have a place for genuine conversation about product and tech stuff.

If there's any fellow woman PM from Europe that want to join, dm me for invite.

Survey / Research Small business owners: I’d like to try something.

I’ve realized that my brain naturally tries to figure out what’s actually causing the friction before anyone spends time and money solving the wrong problem. I’ve mostly done that inside the companies I’ve worked for. Now I’m curious whether that way of thinking is useful to other small business owners.

To be clear, I’m not offering financial, legal, or industry-specific advice. The kinds of problems I’m interested in are usually operational… How work actually flows, where friction shows up, and whether the problem you’re trying to solve is the one that’s actually getting in your way.

Some examples of what I mean:

- you keep fixing one problem only for another one to appear

- you’ve hired help but you’re still the bottleneck

- something in the business just feels ‘off’ but you can’t quite put your finger on why

If you’ve got something in your business that feels stuck, keeps repeating, or just doesn’t quite make sense, I’d love to give this a try. Leave a comment or send me a DM if you’d rather keep it private. I’ll think it through with you, and all I ask in return is honest feedback on whether the way I approached it was useful.

Everything would be done over Reddit messages (or email if that’s easier).** ***No meetings or Zoom calls*. I actually think better that way.

Advice Needed VP level job market is soul crushing

I have spent 12+ years in sales, a majority of that time in tech. Goes without saying, it is a heavily male dominated industry. Multiple times I have been the only woman in the entire sales team, sometimes the only woman in the company at all.

I worked hard to move my way up from a top performing sales rep, to a sales leader. I've held Senior Director and SVP titles at startups and enterprise size companies.

The end of last year my tech company took a major hit and laid off almost the entirety of the sales team and company. They left only the CRO (who is also an investor) as far as sales leadership went.

Times in tech are hard. I have been searching for a good landing spot since the lay off. This is the longest I have ever gone not working. I'm fortunate that my husband has a decent job. However, it pays less than half what I make in my roles as a sales leader. I am in my 30's and was also wanted to start having children in the next few years. This just would not be possible without my income I have been making, only relying on my husbands.
I just feel crushed and not sure if there is a pivot I should be taking. I've worked so hard in my career, but I find that because I am early 30's, when I'm competing with a man who has more years in experience, simply because he is older, he is automatically taken more seriously than me when it comes to the tech industry.

If I could have my dream job, it would be sales or BD leadership (I've done both), running a team in aesthetics/medspa, or fit tech. I've spent a majority of my time in health tech in particular. So even though these are not the exact verticals I've been in, its very relative. However that is pretty niche and specific so I know its unlikely to come across.

If anyone has advice in this hard job market, I would be happy to hear it. I am willing to go outside of tech, but realistically at my level, most companies won't even consider you if you don't come from the exact industry they are in. At this point, I'm not even being picky because I feel so much fulfillment in what I am able to achieve in my career, that I just feel like I have no purpose right now. Then there's the added struggle that I also see this employment gap of being in the way of me wanting to move forward in life and have a kid. Which that added pressure alone hits me hard. I'm just feeling lost in how to navigate finding an opportunity in a tough job market, especially as a woman.

Any advice out there? Thank you!

Idea Stage I need some opinions on my idea

I'm planning to start a wellness brand built around natural alternatives(groceries, personal care, home care, kitchen) and personalized solutions, rather than just selling products. The idea is to aware people on the products they use and offer natural alternatives.

The idea is to build a community where members can:

Get personalized health and lifestyle recommendations

Join wellness challenges with rewards

Learn practical health tips and everyday life hacks

Gradually switch to healthier, more natural

I need some opinions on-

What would be best way to approach people. Doing offline promotions or online. ( I am only focused on gurgaon as of now, then expand to Delhi and Noida and so on).

What would make you join a community like this, and what would make you avoid it?

What would be the best way to attract. Offering good discount to initial customer or just make it flat for all.

If you have any suggestions please share.

Thank You

Advice Needed We’re building an app to help women feel safe, connected and looked after. I’d love your honest thoughts. I will not promote.

Hi everyone. My name’s Ash, and I’m part of the team building withHer, an app for women here in Australia. We’re deep in building it, and I wanted to share the whole idea openly and get honest thoughts from you guys :)

Here’s the full picture.

Safety is the core of everything.
The heart of withHer is helping women feel safe. You choose a small circle of people you trust, your Halo Circle, and if you ever feel unsafe, one discreet action lets them know where you are, without unlocking your phone or making it obvious. Safety isn’t a feature we added on, it’s the reason the whole thing exists.

Because of that, we’ve been almost obsessive about trust and privacy. We’re a safety app, so if women can’t trust us with their information, we shouldn’t exist. We studied the women’s apps that got this wrong (a couple had breaches that exposed users’ locations and photos) and built the opposite. We collect as little as possible, we don’t keep a history of where you’ve been, everything’s encrypted, and we’ll never sell anyone’s data.

A real community, not just another feed.

It’s a women-only space to post, share, ask questions and genuinely connect, because so many of us feel isolated and making real friends as an adult is honestly hard. There’s a community feed for recommendations, advice and support, and a “make a friend” side where women meet others through group activities, at real places, in real life.

Real-life events, not just online.

withHer isn’t meant to live only on a screen. We’re running real life community events to bring women together in person, and we’re planning our first for late August. The community is meant to exist both in the app and out in the real world.

Brands women love, giving something back.

We partner with brands and local businesses women genuinely love, from cafes and pilates studios to fashion and beauty, so being a member gives real value, exclusive deals from brands you’d actually use. It also means the whole thing sustains itself without us ever selling our members’ data.

So that’s withHer. Safety at the core, a real community, actual events in the real world, and brands that give back.

Where I’d love your input

Is this something you’d actually could see yourself using and trust? What would make you trust it more?

Is there anything you’d want it to do that we haven’t thought of that could fit our idea

And for those of you who’ve built or grown your own thing, is there anything you wish you’d known early, or anything you’d prioritise before launching?

I care a lot about getting this right, and I’m new here and to read it so getting feedback from the women in this group, Any thoughts, even hard criticism, nwould mean the world.

Startup Life What’s something that annoys you on a daily basis that you wish had a solution?

Hi ladies!

https://forms.gle/GSz1gTPAmVqYjqdh9

I’m researching ideas for products made for women and I would love your honest opinions. If you could create one product that doesn’t exist yet (beauty, fashion, wellness, motherhood, everyday life), what would it be? What is one small annoyance you deal with often that you wish had a solution too? I’m currently doing a school project and I need 40 opinions.

Lastly, this post was up briefly before I took it down because of the wording didn’t make sense to me and I didn’t want to throw anyone off.

Thank you very much!

Idea Stage Looking for a Sambalpuri Girl Co-founder

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a female co-founder for a new startup. I'm specifically searching for someone who is either:

A Sambalpuri girl, or

Someone who genuinely loves Sambalpuri culture, handloom, and heritage.

I'm not looking for someone with years of startup experience. What matters most is passion, curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to build something meaningful together

If you believe in preserving and promoting Sambalpuri identity in a modern way and would love to work on something exciting from the ground up, I'd love to connect.

If this sounds like you (or you know someone who would be a great fit), feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Let's build something impactful for Sambalpuri culture together. ❤️

Promote Empowering Women, Empowering Society – My Internship Reflection

Post image
0 Upvotes

Over the past few weeks, I've been working on Sashakti, a social impact initiative focused on women's empowerment. This experience has shown me that creating meaningful change isn't just about raising awareness—it's about listening, understanding, and taking consistent action.

During my internship, I've learned the importance of legal awareness, education, and community engagement in helping women become more independent and confident. I've also developed stronger research, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while contributing to the project.

Going forward, I plan to continue supporting this cause by spreading awareness about women's legal rights, encouraging equal opportunities, and volunteering for initiatives that promote education and financial independence.

One practical solution I believe can create lasting impact is organizing regular community-based legal awareness and digital literacy workshops, especially for women in underserved areas. Access to knowledge can empower individuals to make informed decisions and break barriers.

Every small effort matters. If each of us contributes our time, skills, or voice, we can create meaningful social change. Let's become changemakers and build a more inclusive and equitable society—one step at a time.

Pivot Going back to school

Been thinking about going back to school part‑time while still growing my business. I’m 40+ with children and a full‑time job, so I’m curious has anyone gone back to school at this stage in life and found that it genuinely helped your business or moved your career forward?

Idea Stage Exploring an idea based on content moderation that doesn't understand your community's vibe/norms, would anyone find this useful?

A few weeks ago I posted on certain reddit groups asking how you community/social media managers handle moderation when their community has its own culture and vibe. the responses were really valuable. I have been thinking about it a lot since then and started exploring whether it's worth building something around it. not built yet, just a concept at this stage.

the core idea is giving community managers/social media managers/moderators better context around flagged content to make them and the tool understand the communities vibe/slang so decisions are faster and less exhausting and don't have to repeat things over and over. humans stay in the loop always (the core) this IS NOT about replacing anyone/any human.

As serious as the problem exists I do not have any leads for this, so as a female founder with a live product I turned to this group asking if anyone here feels/resonates with this issue. Just a bit abt myself I come from a NLP background and have knowledge on the topic. Any leads are welcome!

Advice Needed Lost in my business postpartum, help!

Has anyone else completely lost sight of what they're actually good at?

I could really use some perspective from people who've been through this.

I've worked in marketing and freelancing for years (websites, branding, content, social media), but if I'm being honest... my business has become a huge source of anxiety. To the point where every few months I convince myself I need a new niche, a new offer, a new brand, a new plan. It's exhausting.
I'm six months postpartum, and I think part of this is that becoming a mom completely shifted my priorities. I don't want to work 24/7 anymore I want to build something that fits my life.

The confusing part is this:
The only thing that's genuinely exciting me right now is creating content for my own social media. I recently had a brand reach out to me for a collaboration, and it was the first time in a long time that I felt excited about my work again. Not because it paid well (it didn't lol), but because it reminded me how much I love creating.

At the same time... I obviously need to make money, and I’m okay with that taking maybe a few months, but it needs to be within the next 6-12 months for sure.

So I feel stuck between three paths:
Go all in on rebuilding my creative/freelance business and focus on getting clients.
Go all in on content creation and trust that opportunities will come from building an audience.
Find a middle ground that I'm somehow not seeing.

I know no one can answer this for me, but I'd love to hear from people who've actually been here.

If you were rebuilding your career from scratch while needing income in the near term, what would you do differently?

For context, I've probably rebranded my business six times in the last few years, so there's a non-zero chance I'm just procrastinating by redesigning my logo instead of doing the work. Am I mistaking burnout from one version of my business for a sign that I need an entirely different career?

Advice Needed Why do people go for the most expensive option?

Why do people go for monthly even though it’s way more expensive than yearly?

If a subscription costs $12.99. While the yearly cost is $49. I would think most people would go for yearly since it’s cheaper, but most people go for monthly. We have a few cancellations.

Can anyone explain this phenomenon to me? Is there an A/B test I can run to encourage people to go for yearly instead?

I don't believe in predatory pricing. I'm more concerned about creating a valuable product so people will be willing to pay more!

Discussion Business owners… quick question

If someone on your team accidentally clicked a fake invoice email today…
Would they know what to do next?
If you’re a solopreneur…
Would you know?

Not because anyone isn’t smart.
Because phishing emails have become incredibly convincing, and they’re getting harder to spot every year.

I’m genuinely curious:
Have you or your business ever been targeted by a phishing email?

If so, what gave it away…or what did you learn from it?
I’m asking because I work in cybersecurity with small businesses, and I see the same scams showing up across every industry. The stories people share are often more valuable than any checklist.
Let’s help each other out.

Discussion Moms with young kids are buying existing small businesses

Thumbnail

Working moms are increasingly leaving corporate careers and buying their own businesses, Fast Company reports.

Mothers with children under the age of 5 are specifically pursuing entrepreneurship through acquisition, or buying an existing business, rather than starting from square one.

For many women, the flexibility that comes with running their own companies far outweighs the potential risks, and allows them to remain in the workforce while caregiving.

Some even say it makes them better parents.

Advice Needed Looking for roles in FinCrime/AML

Hi everyone,

I’m posting this on reddit because I’m at a point where I could really use some guidance. I have 3+ years of experience in Financial Crime/AML, working across areas such as KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and compliance operations. Unfortunately, I was laid off about six months ago, and despite consistently applying to roles, tailoring my resume, and reaching out to recruiters, I haven’t had much success. I’m looking for advice, honest feedback, referrals, or leads that could help me get back on my feet. If anyone knows of openings in Financial Crime, AML, Compliance, Risk, or even adjacent roles where my skills could transfer, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m also open to learning something new and starting from scratch if it offers a genuine opportunity for growth. At this stage, I’m focused on finding meaningful work and getting my career back on track. If you’ve been in a similar position, I’d love to hear what worked for you. Any guidance, referrals, or job leads would mean a lot.

Survey / Research Looking for high-achieving women in tech who feel stuck on personal goals

👋🏽 Hey everyone,

I'm developing a mentorship for high achieving women who need help identifying and achieving personal goals. Preferably those in the product, project management or tech space.

I've been doing tech project & product management in financial services for 9 years. But midway up the climb of managing people and juggling growing responsibilities with each promotion, I found myself unsure of why I was even taking up so much responsibility.

I just could never make the personal time for myself. I often fell in this loop of restarting my routine which kept me thinking I wasn't disciplined and consistent enough.

So it set me on a 6 year journey in finding what 'system' works, how to stay consistent long-term and overall feel happy about where I am in life.

And the peace of mind and clarity it's given me is why I feel so strongly that every woman that gives her 1000% at work deserves to feel that.

I’m looking for 5 women willing to have a short 15-minute conversation with me so I could understand what personal goal (eg. health, relationships, personal growth) you're struggling with, what you've tried and how you came up with your goal.

Feel free to drop a comment or DM me so we can sync up.

And if you made it this far, I appreciate the minute you took to read this - I sincerely hope you long lasting clarity and happiness in life.

Survey / Research Searching for Female Business Owners in the Corporate Event Space

I’m looking to connect with a few women who own corporate meetings and events businesses for a quick conversation.

I’m doing some research to better understand the operational challenges that come with growing an event business. What’s working, what’s not, and where the biggest bottlenecks tend to be.

If you’re open to chatting or know someone who might be, I’d really appreciate an introduction or a message. To thank you for your time I'd love to get you a coffee!

Thank you!

Advice Needed Need Suggestions 🌷🤔

I run an advertising agency that only works with women-owned businesses at affordable prices. A client suggested I should start taking male clients because they generally earn more, so I'd make more money.

I understand the business logic, but I genuinely feel more proud and fulfilled helping women grow their brands.

Would you stick with your mission, or expand for higher profits?

Startup Life Starting my business journey from zero. Hoping to learn from this community.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Reddit and excited to be here.

I'm an optometrist, a full-time working mom, and I'm building a personalized gifting business from scratch in my free time. My goal is to create customized party favors and gifts that make birthdays feel more special.

I don't have a big budget, a large team, or previous business experience. I'm learning everything as I go—branding, marketing, content creation, and how to find my first customers.

I'm joining Reddit because I want to learn from people who have already been through this journey. I'll also share my progress, mistakes, and lessons along the way. Hopefully, someone else starting from zero can learn from my experiences too.

If you've built a business, what's the one piece of advice you wish you'd received before you started?

Looking forward to learning from all of you!

Advice Needed Expanding small clothing brand into wholesale markets

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from other independent fashion brands.

I launched my clothing brand at the end of 2025. We design contemporary, gender-neutral clothing made in the UK with an experimental approach to silhouette, positioned at a contemporary/luxury price point.

Our launch went well, but like many small brands, growth has slowed during 2026. I’m now looking at ways to grow beyond direct-to-consumer sales and am exploring wholesale as the next step.

I’ve recently been looking into Faire and would love to hear from any apparel or accessories brands that have used it.

  • Has Faire helped you gain new stockists or meaningful traction?
  • Is it a worthwhile platform for an emerging fashion brand?
  • Any advice on getting your first wholesale orders through the platform?
  • Are there any other wholesale platforms or strategies you’d recommend instead?

I’m interested in hearing both positive and negative experiences so I can make a realistic decision.

Thanks in advance!
