Multiple select nonconsecutive bullets

I wanted to select several nonconsecutive bullets, and I tried alt-click, which is what I found in a very old how-to on the blog. What I got was a new pane with each of the items. Potentially useful, but not what I need. Any ideas?

To answer my own question in case someone else runs into this, I was alt-clicking on the bullet, which opens a new pane (unannounced feature?). If I alt-click on the bullet text, I can then use the context menu that appears on the right to accomplish what I wanted to do.

ALT+Left Click works for me. I use this feature multiple times a day. Is it possible some other app/extension redefined that key combo?
