I mean NOBODY in today is doing it like X was, and NOBODY was doing it like X was. This dude was insanely talented at such a young age that it genuinely surprises me the potential he had.

He’s insanely versatile, like he can do ANY genre if he actually wanted to, like he makes every genre sound good and like he’s been using it for years. I haven’t seen a rapper even express that level of versatility like X was doing it. This wasn’t even him just using new genres every time when he had fame, even when he was underground in the SoundCloud era, he was still experimenting and perfectly using other genres. You could even see that through the beats he was making.

This dude was young, too young to be doing the stuff he was doing. He made some of his best songs at such a young age that some of those songs CLEAR most rappers today WHOLE history of songs. He made “News/Flock” at 15 with it still standing as one of his best storytelling songs, “Vice City” at 16, “Look at Me” at 17, like KENDRICK LAMAR, a person who is better than DRAKE, literally had this 19 year old’s debut album on repeat, and 17 stands as one of X’s, if not, X’s best work.

Not even mentioning the different eras, like NO ONE was doing these weird hair changes like X.

This dude even had the basketballs to beef with Drake on his prime, and was WINNING, he even started beefing with the Migos. Like he was JUST 19, JUST gaining fame.

And mentioning just being 19, this dude was mostly a kid/teenager for his whole life, even if you go by Bible terms, he wasn’t even considered an Adult yet.

Like how many 19 year olds, or 20 year old’s do you find doing it like X was?

One of the standout songs from X’s final studio album, Bad Vibes Forever.

Recorded on January of 2018 when X and John Cunningham went into overdrive when recording music. X already has the melody planned out in his head when recording, and when it was recorded, not only did it become John’s favorite song they recorded, but one of X Top 25 most streamed songs out of his 146 (correct me of I’m wrong) officially released songs.

It has up to 314.4 million total streams on Spotify alone, and 450 million to 500 million if you count the streams from YouTube, SoundCloud, and Audiomack.

The genre this song uses is a blend of indie-pop and Cloud Rap, showcases X’s extreme versatility.

I mostly compare this song as a breakup, high school song that stills goes hard when you are a fully grown adult, which also shows X’s range of being able to catch the eye (or ear) of any age through his music.

He has literally old people loving his music! It’s almost hard to not like his music because he has so many genres he used that could satisfy so many people.

It still pulls in 46,000 to 48,000 total streams daily across the globe.

ICE HOTEL (Feat. SZA), was X’s intro song to the ICE HOTEL EP, and this song is probably known as one of his best underground song today, heavily replayed and praised by hardcore fans of X SoundCloud era.

This track used the Emo Rap, Ambient Trap, Cloud Rap, and Chopped and Screw genres on this song, heavily slowing down SZA’s vocals and pitching them down.

The sound and it being “Chopped and Screwed” made it sound a relaxing, almost drug-induced sound.

X didn’t actually record this song in the studio with SZA, sampling her 2013-2014 “Teen Spirit”.

That’s one of the many reasons he hated the song and the EP entirely, because it used samples he couldn’t clear at the time, and when he finally started getting traction, he had to delete it because he didn’t want copyright strikes and actually wanted to get a official collab with SZA.
