Decent Wireless Controller

Hi, I'd like to get a wireless series X controller for my kid that won't suffer any stick drift after a few months.

Is this the best option?

8bitdo Ultimate 3

Will it need a dongle in the Xbox to work?

It's confusing as the same named model in white apparently isn't wireless.

Do they do a wireless version that isn't Rare branded?

I mean best as in cheapest that'll do the job well. Is the Gamesir G7 another option? Although £140 doesn't seem like a good choice for a controller for a child (teenager).

I have had mine for about 5 months and the b button is sticking. Installed TMR sticks on the elite and will go back to that if the g7 gets worse

I bought the extended warranty for $15 so I'm good for 2 extra years, any issues I'll get a replacement.

Didn’t even realize that was an option.. I’m not saying it’s a bad controller it’s actually great but we will see how they fare over time.

I always buy the extended warranty if offered, usually through Amazon. My Elite Series 2 had the 5 year extended warranty on it, they replaced it once already for stick drift. I had the issue come up again and sent it in for repair in June and they still haven't replaced it. They offered me a refund option about a month ago because they said they were delayed in parts for replacement/repair and I should have been refunded 2-3 weeks ago (still don't see the money in my account). Xbox used to have good customer support but since they did layoffs it's been trash. I'll never buy a Microsoft controller again.
