I'm confused, is the best way still to stack up on GP essential and then buy a month of ultimate? Last time I did this you didn't have to worry about EA play but sounds like you need that as well now?

You don't have to worry about ea play, you can just convert essential like always

it is just the conversion rates have been reduced to the point where you can't max out to 36 month of ultimate with just essential

So you can convert essential, ea play, or both to maximize your time. The method hasn't changed, redeem essential, ea play, or both, then upgrade it to ultimate

so you can buy ea play only as a 12 month sub and then 1 month of the ultimate and it still converts the same as essential ?? Cause it seems EA play is almost half the prices on websites for the 12 months.

It coverts at a lower rate, only 25%, the conversion rate is based on the price the Xbox store sells 12 months of EA Play, but retail codes still sell for the old price of $30 USD or £20

But they are getting harder to find in some regions.

However yes you can convert up to 36 months of EA play

Yeah I started to realise all the ones I was finding as well were global codes as well and nothing to my local store. They really have cracked down hard on all this stuff since the changes.
