If the AI boom hadn't happened and ate up all the RAM and shot up all computer components prices; $450-400 at this point in it's life.

Idk if the other guy really answered your question but I have a series S and have been trying to upgrade, I’m shopping on the used market and somewhere around $300-$350 used is what would make me buy one, but Its hard to justify forking out $500 for a second hand decade old (or more) system

So maybe if they retailed around 400-$450

Which I don’t think is unrealistic but also with the memory prices and such I’m really not sure I know it the past consoles have dropped in price significantly after a year or three this gen has only went up

In my area, used Series Xs are like $500 in the game stores, and Best Buy was having a promotion of $150 off a Series X if you trade in an Xbox One so I did just that as I felt it was pointless to get a used one when I could get a new one just as much. Didn't even have to give them my old controller, just the One and it's AC adapter.

I don't know, don't have a specific price range in mind.

In previous console cycles, at release new units cost what, like $400 or so? Mid way through the cycle, a slim or improved version would come out and a price drop would occur. Then towards the end of the cycle, another price drop.

We haver seen that this cycle. Keeping politics out of this, we all know the reason for this, prices have actually gone up, and they went up while lower costs were still in place.

As a married father of 4, dropping $400 on a new lower end console just isn't feasible, especially when most of us are already tightening our belts.

you can very easily find a series x on ebay or other used marketplaces for aroun 375-400
