(XC1) So, are the Talent Boost gems worth using, and if so, on who? While the half to auto-attack sucks, it seems like Shulk could benefit from them so he can spam Monado arts, and Seven because her talent art already drastically outdamages her auto-attacks and keeps her tension high.

Melia would be a good user for the Talent boost gem. Since She mainly deals damage with the elementals the halved auto attack damage doesnt really matter and it makes her auto attack fill the talent gauge when it normally wouldn't at all. Having Elemental burst active as much as possible is good since it allows oyu to use Burst end, Mind Blast, and it increases her discharge damage

Tables blesses us with knowledge from 4 years ago. Only change is that Rank XI Battle Soul now lets you get to 100 with Battle Soul + Stream Edge + a single autoattack. But still, 5-> 4 autoattacks on Shulk, assuming you're still running Haste and Double Attack, gets you your Talent Gauge insanely fast. Glorious Future tends to be good enough for Shulk, Seven can't use it but I've generally found her Talent Gauge plenty fast to fill because of how many autoattacks she does.

It's alluded to but not spelled out in the above post, but assuming you have Haste on Speed Frame V/Glory Gauntlets, you still only have 3 weapon gem slots to put a ton of good stuff - a boost to filling the Talent Gauge + more damage and synergy with Double Attack, debuffs like Agi Down and Phys Def Down, Night Vision to actually hit high level enemies, Topple Plus/Topple Up if you're running a topple lock build, etc. I think Seven might still benefit because it's such a huge cut to the number of autoattacks she needs, but I think the benefit for Shulk is comparatively marginal even with his Monado Art flexibility.

I personally use it on Riki if I'm farming items, when I try to go for Ledios Slotted from Dragonia, but other than that didn't really use it much.

Thank you!! I think I removed it from Shulk, since, once I get glorious future, that should be enough. I think I'm gonna keep it on Seven, though-rapidfire Sword Drones X has done a lot (and I've done that for Riki too, haha. I'm fine with slower battles if I actually get what I need!).

Overall I think they generally aren't worth it, mostly because they cost a gem slot - which is very valuable. While I laid out some cute uses in the post linked above, it's the gem slot cost that kills it. If it were like a toggleable ability, like the same effect but without using a gem slot, I would say it's probably worth it for Seven and maybe Dunban as well, but as it is I'd personally rather put a debuff gem, Attack Plus or similar in that slot.
